@partyrockers94 I don't really make the full bracelets anymore because my carpal tunnel... if you like it you could probably find someone on Friendship-Bracelets(dot)net who is willing to make you one.
@SickMeDOWN About 6.5 it should make. You may be able to use 65 inches if you make the one main "zigzag" strand @ 1:28 a little longer than the others. Maybe make that yellow about 70 and the rest 65 and you should be okay, I think.
@TheDinamostafa The video one has holes because working on a clipboard changes the tension. This was also before I got my new tripod so I was working with the tripod neck between my wrists and only about 5 inches between the bracelet and the camera lens.
If you mean yours have holes then it's a tension problem/problem with how you are holding your string. Base string firmly, slide the knotting string upward. You can also wiggle it gently once it reaches the top to make it more secure.
so i saw the candy ribbon on ur "unfinished bracelets video" and you only used two colors for it. i was wondering how i would set up the strings if i want to make mine like urs.
@kinseyrox99 The L1 L2 thing is better for chevrons and mirror image patterns. Watch my video explaining the L1 L2 method and you may understand better. /watch?v=apTAygZ910A
@hmnblake Yes, yes she does. I was tired and usually am very tired. I barely sleep due to illness... and on top of that there's more illness. I sometimes sound really bad and yet other times I sound fine. If you hear energy in my voice and I sound happy chances are it's been a good day and I don't feel like driving off a cliff due to feeling awfully.
@TheVolley34 It's because you're switching directions. I called it the candy ribbon for a reason- it sort of goes back and forth slightly like an actual candy ribbon. If you look closely mine does it too, it's just less pronounced because my focal strings are black.
@marra531 I'm surprised you didn't catch that... the video (making it) shows the yellow is the primary. I'm really only teaching patterns so I sometimes will switch colors around. Sorry it confused you.
@randomdude175 I tried the stars before... they don't come out well with normal patterns. It'd probably have to be alpha patterns... and I don't really like doing them.
@Kjclementful Only three, check my channel banner for the "advanced" section. They're not THAT advanced but they're harder than the intermediate section.
@BeyondBracelets I think i commented on the wrong video. But sometimes it ells me to use 60 but i have tiny wrists then i uaslly have massive left over. I need to make bracelet videos...
@biebercrew10 I have to give enough string for everyone to make one. If you notice a trend of way too much leftover then decrease the length.
Most people have average wrists and so I must list the average length of string to fit those average wrists. Just measure how much you cut off at the end and subtract that from the standard 65" (inches) for making your bracelets... even in the books 65 is the standard length and for my wrists (average 7.5) it leaves me with just enough to braid the ends.
@keikoliveson I forget usernames easily... so I can't make any promises. A few people have asked for me to remind them but there's just way too many of you to remember. =x
@keikoliveson I'm not sure if you were the one who asked before or if it has been a few people... but yeah. I can, just not quite yet. I've been having issues with my tripod and camera and right now I'm just not really able to continue. I'll get to it when I can... I put it on the request list.
I hope you feel better. I have hypothyroidism & I know how it gets. Hang in there & thanks so much for all of the wonderful tutorials! I really appreciate it!
@kmccann76 Yeah.. mine is "autoimmune" so apparently without medicine my body would kill off my thyroid because it is treating it like an organ transplant that is being rejected. It really sucks but hey, there's someone out there with something much worse I just feel lucky that I'm still functioning and able to do stuff regardless of the things going on with me. =x
@MacysBracelets Thanks. It took a lot of time to develop the skill... I've been making these since I was 9 years old... and am almost 24 now. So that's 15 years of practicing under my belt.
@xobeautifulbabexo Well, if I can figure out a more comfortable set up I'd surely be much happier about making them on camera. I think I have something worked out I just need to get the new camera and the tripod I found. I should be making clearer videos which I'm actually comfortable in soon if all goes well. Here's hoping I suppose.
@xobeautifulbabexo Yeah... I hardly sleep and on top of that I have thyroid issues. Some days I sound REALLY bad. You can really tell how I feel by how good or bad my voice is. =x
@ImmaBLovinU You can but you have to double up on strings. You need to keep the amount of strings but you can use any color set up you want. Just remember putting two of the same color side by side will make thick stripes, to keep them thin you need to space it out.
@Kfink5192 Can you tell me how you're reading the descriptions? I'm not trying to offend you... I just can't understand why so many people are asking this lately and I'm not sure how to address it (if I can, even.)
I'm trying to convey that you cut 70 inches and then fold the 70 inch string in half... but so many people are thinking I mean 70 inches multiplied for each side?
@TheHKJS Yeah, if you're using six stranded it can start to come undone if you're not careful. You can get around this by applying a little bit of glue to the very tips before starting. (Just a dab of Elmer's glue would be fine.)
Hey, I stumbled upon your tutorial, looking for this exact one, actually. It's VERY well explained and clear, easy to see, easy to understand. Thanks so much for posting this, you have no idea how far and wide I've been searching. And to see you have so many more! I've been trying to learn more than candy stripe, zig zag and chevron/inverse chevron. Looks like I found my place!

thanks for the video this bracelet is simple but very nice and colourful!!! greetings from E cuador...
hey you need to tie hard and put whit your finger every knot to tigh the bracelet... then no more spaces between knots... sorry for my eanglish :) good vibrations... !!!
@stproductionsx3 I'm guessing it's where it switches from backward knots to forward knots?
It's common for that problem to happen. I want to say you might not have been holding the base string (string being knotted on) as tight and straight as you should have been... You need to treat it like a beading loom but for knots. That and you need to make sure the knot is settled up in to the little crevice nice and snug before continuing. Once more knots are made they won't slide around to fix gaps.
@BeyondBracelets i started this bracelet with three shades of pink black and white and it turned soooo cute!!!!! Ur bracelet videos r the best ones tht i hav ever seen, they explain every detail tht we need to kno! keep it up!!!! :D
This bracelet is really nice. I just started it and would you know i made a mistake already. After the doing the first set of forwards knots, i then started the backwards knots from where the forwards knots ended. Had to come back and watch your video again. Thanks for the time you've put in for doing this for us.
@ayaiah When starting new bracelets try using a cardboard loom... it'll help you see what is going on better- then once you get it started you'll have an easier time working off the loom.
@beebitter Like I've told other people, you're welcome to use less and see if you can manage but you'll probably just end up with a keychain.
It seems LOTS of people are skeptical about how long the strings need to be so I just suggest they try using less just to see for themselves WHY you need more... besides, the only way to really learn is by experiencing it. I will say this though, anything under 55" will definitely be way too short.
at 4:09 when I knotted the yellow onto the green it had a big distance and it wasn't knotted right next to each other. Was that normal? I hope I didn't explain that too weirdly.
@TheMrhardybam Go to my beginner tutorials... I have some videos on how to pull the knots/directions and a new video talking about bracelet gaps/holes- maybe it will help you - if not just private message me again because there shouldn't be a big gap.
@Roxixane456 What do you mean end it? To make it an even line instead of the weird shape? If that's what you mean then yeah- incomplete rows at the very end would help it be more even looking at the end.
@shelleybelly4evr have you tried the awareness ribbon pattern? Use the rainbow color strings in place of color 1(the background strings) and use a white for color 2(the ribbon string). It produces a multi colored puzzle piece looking background with white ribbon...basically a reversed autism awareness ribbon bracelet. Not sure if it would please you or not but my peoples like it. :0) have fun knothead.
I'm not sure exactly where to submit requests but I was wondering if there was a puzzle piece pattern (hopefully easy)? I've been searching for one with a simple puzzle piece to represent Autism Awareness but have had no luck.
i just wanted to let you know that watching your tutorials has taught me so much haha. i really love your teaching method and it has worked wonderfully for me :)
Thank you! I'll be watching for it. Little crafts like this don't take ALOT of time and space. I have 2 kids under 5 so crafts are de-stressing. :0) LOL!
I appreciate the answer. I was just curious about cutting longer. I'll swap like you did. Always amazed at the bracelets people made but could never follow pattern books. Thank you for the videos. Hey will you be doing a tutorial on making the scrapbook pendants? Pleeeeeeease?
@MAMA2TRES Well, originally I said I wouldn't make them since I wanted to sell them but since they don't seem to be selling at all I might as well. I'll put it on the request list.
Does it have to be 10 strings or can you do any number as long as you use an even number? Also... would it work cutting one strand 6"-12" longer and set it up to be the one that divides it up? (ie: the yellow strand in this video) Wouldn't that be easier than knotting to swap the short for the longer one? Just curiousities for me.. I love your vids. Wish you would combine all onto a disc and sell it. :0) let me know if you do...I'll buy the 1st copy.
@MAMA2TRES You could do this with any number of strings so long as you keep the same method.
As for "easier cutting the one yellow strand longer" this would be difficult since only one side of the yellow would be used. You'd have to pull it off center in order to make one side of the yellow REALLY long vs one side normal. I like the swapping method because it can be used in any pattern.
See, I swap near the ends of bracelets if I need to squeeze out another inch or so of pattern- it works!
can i do it in 2 colors?
Ankyxy13 2 weeks ago
@Ankyxy13 Yes, just set it up with two colors alternating.
BeyondBracelets 2 weeks ago
I tried to do it but the bracelet zigzags, it has an S shape. I cant do it straight. Is that okey, or am I doing something wrong?

@FlorGiorgi It's normal, mine has that slightly. You may be able to make it less noticeable if you pull the knots a bit tighter.

chabbygabby 1 month ago
@chabbygabby Yes, but the pattern will have the first 5 one way and the next 5 the other way. Not sure if you get what I mean, though.
Make sure you use about 35 inches of string for each string if you are not folding the strands so you have enough.

@ColorMeHappy34 The difference is the backwards knots head to the left. Forward knots head to the right.
The difference in forward/backward knots is the same as the difference between walking forward vs walking backwards.

TheMrhardybam 9 months ago
@TheMrhardybam Go to my beginner tutorials... I have some videos on how to pull the knots/directions and a new video talking about bracelet gaps/holes- maybe it will help you - if not just private message me again because there shouldn't be a big gap.

yes Practice does make Perfect, but this is so complicated for me. ))x
someday I shall learn, but thanks, the bracelet looks AMAZING! :)

how do you end it? do you just leave it like that or don't complete full rows?
Roxixane456 10 months ago

Awesome thank you!
Shellybelly4evr 10 months ago
Yikes sorry..just woke up...i meant yes I have the hang of the alpha pattern so that would be good
Shellybelly4evr 10 months ago
@Shellybelly4evr Okay good, I'll try to work out an alpha pattern for you with the autism awareness theme.
(I removed the other comment since I see you typo'd and probably don't want it left there. =P)
BeyondBracelets 10 months ago
I'm not sure exactly where to submit requests but I was wondering if there was a puzzle piece pattern (hopefully easy)? I've been searching for one with a simple puzzle piece to represent Autism Awareness but have had no luck.
Shellybelly4evr 10 months ago
@Shellybelly4evr I can look into making one, if you'd like.
Alpha patterns would most likely be the easiest and less confusing option, are you okay with that?

Thank you! I'll be watching for it. Little crafts like this don't take ALOT of time and space. I have 2 kids under 5 so crafts are de-stressing. :0) LOL!
MAMA2TRES 11 months ago
Making one of these now it's pretty simple once you get going.
Thanks for the tutorial
missinfekt 11 months ago
@missinfekt Yeah, as long as you can keep track of the strings you're good to go. Glad you liked the tutorial!
BeyondBracelets 11 months ago
I appreciate the answer. I was just curious about cutting longer. I'll swap like you did. Always amazed at the bracelets people made but could never follow pattern books. Thank you for the videos. Hey will you be doing a tutorial on making the scrapbook pendants? Pleeeeeeease?
MAMA2TRES 11 months ago
@MAMA2TRES Well, originally I said I wouldn't make them since I wanted to sell them but since they don't seem to be selling at all I might as well. I'll put it on the request list.

70 INCHES OR 70 CM
valeria0523 11 months ago
@valeria0523 I say (inches) right beside the instructions. It's inches.
You want to use 70cm you can but you won't end up with anything but a keychain.
BeyondBracelets 11 months ago
Does it have to be 10 strings or can you do any number as long as you use an even number? Also... would it work cutting one strand 6"-12" longer and set it up to be the one that divides it up? (ie: the yellow strand in this video) Wouldn't that be easier than knotting to swap the short for the longer one? Just curiousities for me.. I love your vids. Wish you would combine all onto a disc and sell it. :0) let me know if you do...I'll buy the 1st copy.
MAMA2TRES 11 months ago
@MAMA2TRES You could do this with any number of strings so long as you keep the same method.
As for "easier cutting the one yellow strand longer" this would be difficult since only one side of the yellow would be used. You'd have to pull it off center in order to make one side of the yellow REALLY long vs one side normal. I like the swapping method because it can be used in any pattern.
See, I swap near the ends of bracelets if I need to squeeze out another inch or so of pattern- it works!

This looks like a pain in the but to make! But i love it!

@TheMilklover3 It's not that hard once you get used to the pattern.
