@2e0hoq From my understanding it has to be a Nextel SIM, you can get them off ebay for cheap. One word of caution, im not sure about the UK, but in some countries the bandwidth these operate on are reserved for emergency personal, so check your local laws about allowed frequencies.

yes, Wilson makes an external antenna and adapter. The adpater is Wilson 354008, and the antenna is 304202

You can remove the cap on the back of the phone just above the battery cover. You will find the adapters buy searching ebay for Nextel i305 i315 i325 i355 external antenna adapter. They output to an FME connector. You will need to adapt that to the antenna of your choice. Wilson make an antenna that does not need an adapter.
