Drive twice as fast, take half as long to complete your journey. Use the extra hours you gain to earn more money. Who the fuck wants to sit in a metal box at 20mph all day? Just buy a car that gets 50mpg outright.
Excellent! it's hard to drive so slow but now that gas is over $3.00 a gallon in the US, heading for $4 later this year and $5 possible next year, this is a great way to save some money. i like to coast to almost every stop sign/red light, and time them so i dont have to stop... coast baby coast!
here in my fuckin country the gas price is $ 6.4 per gallon, and i earn only $ 200.... and plus in my town you can't drive more than 20 mph coz you have to stop every 200 feet and all the streets are single laned, if you drive slow you're going to jam all the traffic ..i don't have time to calculate the gas mileage of my car......
People living in the flat lands need to learn from this fella, just drove accross canada and those people drive so fast and stop hard too, i guess they dont care that they use more fuel, just get there!
llk517, show me proof of deaths caused by hypermiling. Then show me proof of deaths caused by speeding, talking on the phone while driving, putting makeup on while driving, eating while driving, overtaking on bends, crashing due to UNDERINFLATED tires.....etc
People don't really have to be driving on the extreme to save gas. I drove normal on mostly highways with windows up with the car properly maintained, and I got 39.32 mpg. The tires were pumped to 35PSI, I found that helps. Never went above 70mph, and stayed in the slow lane.
Hypermilers are probably some of the most observent drivers out there - a hypermiler's thought process is - that car half a mile away is coming up to a junction on my road, I wonder if I can optimise my coast so that I don't have to hit the brakes to avoid it
no by clogging up the highways with their slow driving and causing a big pileup......... driving dangerously slow on the interstate would be equivalent to placing stationary brick walls in the lane, cars have to weave in and out to get around them, causing clogged highways and dangerous driving, or by simply plowing into the back of a semi and causing a big massive pile up
I'm a hypermiler and by that I mean I ride a motorcycle. 50mpg plus

@boxerSubaru Time to convert your car engine so it can run off water! Damn the oil companies!!!

@bisexualbuffthug i've read that plasma arc breaks down the water molecule instantly into O2 and H2 and thus burning the hydrogen gas..

i wonder if they will be laughing all the way to the morgue when they get other people killed by their driving techniques?

Please tell me you are joking?
Hypermilers think more about what's going on around them while they're driving than most other 'normal', often ignorant drivers.
For every hypermiling related car accident there are 10,000 stupid driver related car accidents.
