120 bucks for a UCA? DAMN I just bought 2 great new aftermarket ones for 90 total (45 each)
rockauto(dot)com - cheap, reliable parts (They even had Moog UCA's for much cheaper than Advance auto parts, but the ones I got were greasable anyways, so I saved some money over buying Moog ones)
Moog sells over sized ball joints. If one was available for that truck it could have been a possible fix for the new ball joint not pressing in issue.
Yeah MS summers remember them well. 100 degrees with 100 percent humidity do it felt like. Car tags... New cars yeah depends on the age and type. Mom paid 800 bucks for her new tag some years ago. In Texas now. Whole different world. The car was a Buick Roadmaster. Good video
the reason it kept spining when you where done. was because when you pressed it out the way you did. you messed up the whole the ball joint goes into. should not have pushed it up on an angle like that. but other than that your vid was informative tnx for posting.
@jmalouin Your right about not welding on or near a ball joint. I didn't intend to post this video as a how to kind of thing. I am not a hack by the way. I would have replaced the control arms but at the time I wasn't working so my budget was very very limited. I have my wife and 3 kids to take care of. I take a lot of pride in any kind of work I do. So you calling me a "hack" without knowing the whole reason why is uncalled for. Yes I should have said not to do this in my video and I am now.
@1puglife I now hugh! Cheap ass china made junk lol. I ended up having to rent a ball joint press tool but it is all fixed now. I am going to be putting new shocks on this weekend. I will try to make a video of it so if ya want keep checking my channel and watch it. Damn Dodges eh? lol
gr8 video! I wish I knew how to do that kinda stuff. For me its either be stuck with a new vehicle payment or pay a bunch of money to have a mechanic fix it.
@BillyCueavas99 most things automotive are not as hard as you think. There is so much information on the internet as well as tech manuals that will help you learn how to do things yourself. I just cannot justifiy owning a new vehicle. In Mississippi the tag is priced according to how old your vehicle is and if you have a loan on your car/truck you have to carry full coverage insurance. Not to say if I had plenty of money to piss away I wouldn't own a new truck but I don't lol
@BillyCueavas99 I am a chevy man by choice but honestly I like Ford, Dodge and Chevy.....They have all had some awsome very dependable vehicles as well as some real shitty ones. Main thing is they are made in either the u.s. or canada and not imported from overseas. They support american workers and that is what is important.
Wow must be nice living down south. No snow, Hardly any rust and warm weather. Total opposite here in Ohio. Snow out the ass, Cold weather and all the road salt rusted cars you can shake a stick at. lol. Good videos as always Ryan, Keep them coming!
@beast6228 I know I grew up in northern Wisconsin. Every winter a shit ton of snow and rusted out vehicles. Maybe every 10 years it might snow down here and we don't have to even get a 1/4 inch and they shut everything down lol. The winters are great down here but lord do we pay for it during the summer when it's a hundred degrees and hundred percent humidity lol. If I was rich I'd stay up north in the summer and down south for the winter. Thanks for watchin

You're a hack. You never weld anything or anywhere near a ball joint. Don't show incorrect procedures like this...
