I met her about three years ago at a sci fi convention. She was sat behind a table with Champions memrobilia and when I tried talking to her about my memories of the show, she was like "Well, unless you're going to buy a signed photograph, I won't discuss the show with you!"
I couldn't believe it. I would have bought one from her, but as she was so rude, I declined. Heartbreakin... she still looked hot though...
@Bobofet241 That's disgusting! OMG how bad mannered. That was when she was young as well, before becoming bitter???
I said something which you may deam as rude on my part. It was a bit childish but I said to her "I've got two words for you Ms Bastedo...Emma Peel" She then said she'd call security, but my friend and I left anyway. The funny thing was, that there nobody else waiting to see the 'Has Been' anyway... It was childish, but I think she deserved a taste of her own rude medicine.
@bladrunner6 Not childish at all rather very inventive considering. She was and apparently still is very churlish and spoiled.I have heard of some actors who have that 'kiss my feet I'm god' attitude and treat people most shabby and cruel but drip honey off their lips when posturing for the camera or a promotional.Sad really that age doesn't necessarily mean maturity.
@Bobofet241 I've always for better or worse been the kind of person who has to speak my mind or take someoen down a peg or two. I work in the fashion business and meet people on a regular basis with an attitude like Ms Bastardo's and they too have found themselves at the end of a tounge lashing from me... Its the same reaction on their faces everytime, one of an animal startled in the headlights of a car, as these idiots are not used to having people telling them their an idiot Lol (Cont.)
@Bobofet241One such person (I won't name) who is a model and has only found herself at a level she shouldn't be at due to the fact she's dating a famous footballer... spoke to someone on my team like garbage on a shoot, so I said to her "You need to be a bit more respectful of people, because in a couple of years from now, when nobodies interested in you anymore, you'll need all the contacts and friends you can get to stay in position you're in now!" Her expression.... Priceless! Lol
@bladrunner6 Excellent! Some get too used to the adoration or Worship and they begin to believe their own press as the saying goes and they can get very spoiled and petulant They get so used to being pampered that they come to expect or demand it.It is at that point the Brass get's tarnished and loses it's luster.
@bladrunner6 Agreed, Emma Peel. The Goddess that is Diana Rigg. Amazing. Alexandra was beautiful and The Champions was pretty good, but The Avengers is one of the best Tv shows ever and Mrs. Peel was quite literally an icon.
I live in West Sussex, and Alexandra Bastedo and her Husband Patrick Garland, both come my church here - They're a great couple, very nice, genuine and very approachable.

I think you're being a bit hard on Ms Bastedo.
All the money she receives form signing autographs goes towards her animal sanctuary. No need for the snide remarks.

Raquel Welch? Brigitte Bardot? NO give me Alexandra every single time! She is beautiful!
(For any younger viewers the two preceeding names were 'stars' in the same era as Alexandra)

I remember watching the champions when I was 12 years old. Its was boring then as it is now.
The best British series was the Thunderbirds.
Whatever happened to that lady in Coronation St
with the fishnet stocking thing on her head??
