  • yaaaay

  • This video works on so many levels, with brilliant comic timing, dramatic suspense and a very cute lead actor. He delivers his lines, in BSL, with such clarity and feeling ... I'm sure he'll make a fine actor. Genius, charlie, genius!

  • Pretty good post.

  • Great, it is a paralell betwerrm being deaf and gay and how it would be if we did not accept desfness just ast asm many do not accept gayness. that is all, very cleverly put together! Thanks, Leandro

  • a guy with the beautiful eyes. he is so cute :)

  • Perverse.....what a reaction....there's nothing wrong with coming out....deaf !!!

  • Lol

  • when i first saw the title, i thought it was about revealing homosexuality...

  • Ouch.

  • HA!

  • This is nice :)

My only reservation is that he's not deaf (unable to hear), he's mute (unable to speak).

  • @mamothman2000 I think he's deaf, but he can lipread. He didn't hear his mum call and stuff, right? Nor could he understand the tele without subs.

  • @mamothman2000 the actor is deaf and he can speak u can hear him when he's signing

  • @mamothman2000 no, he's deaf. And he signs.

  • If he's deaf... how can he hear his mother's questions?

haha just a little logic inconsistincy that i felt needed pointing out. the story IS inspiring, though.

  • @GrimHeaper460 people can learn how 2 read lips, just so u kno...

  • @GrimHeaper460 lip reading? many deaf people can do it.

  • wtf

    gays are wrong

  • "why are you always ignoring me??"

  • i dont really get this.. the mum never knew about them both being deaf?

  • loved it thumbs up

  • The counselor on a deaf community Deafornot dot c om said that "People who may be defined as clinically deaf (unable to hear spoken language) may or may not be members of the Deaf community."

  • i love sign language... :-) this is great. awesome video!!

  • lol this is sooooo funny thanx

  • THAT WAS THE FUNNIEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!! SO INSIGHTFUL!!!

  • wow, this is really creative! i wasn't sure where it was going, but i think i see now. very good, guys!

  • Im gay and deaf also...(Well I'm deaf in one ear with 50% in the other)

And its a good video, the funny thing is although she doesn't believe he's deaf - how can she understand sign language?

  • this is awesome!!! funny, and yet really makes the point that being gay isnt a choice, its jsut something that you are. if you told someone you were deaf they wouldnt turn around and say "well...try not to be!" I love this, think its a brilliant video and will show my mate whos trying to come out!!

  • type: "Gosia & Ewa in the air"

  • this is so great. thank u so much

  • This video is so HOT!!!!!

  • ahaha, this is great :D

  • the end it was made me laughed. That was a great film for deaf comedy

  • this is absolutely ingenious!

  • The funny part is.. He can hear her talkin to him!! Hah

  • @SwimmersEar4 he could be lip reading

  • This might sound a bit crazy but do Deaf people have to 'come out' as seeing themselves as part of Deaf culture? I sorta feel I 'came out' as autistic when I discovered that was the word for the 'oddness' I've always had, and sought a diagnosis.

  • I love this, it's so silly. =D

  • he says: remember the hearing movies we watched, I don't understand them.

Well, when the mother speaks to him, she doesn't use sign language.

and they are having a whole conversation! so clearly the guy can hear, but he can't talk.

I really liked this video :)

  • "You see my hands moving? This is called sign language. Haven't you noticed?" Lol!

  • It is rather bit strange, if not by comedy genre, that mother expressing her confusion instinct at her son to stated that he is 'turned' deaf ! She feelin' being 'shocked' about him being deaf AS she staring at her husband behind him, also signing too. Looks like she is having a bad dream but where's the exact plot related to them beforehanded ? But nice work. I am full deaf and professional filmmaker with my 45+ years focusing at real deaf culture, internationally. See my deaf drama films here.

  • woah he was pretty happy about the hearing aids think ima go get some lol

  • That is the best! I love it! Crazy-awesome.

  • This is so bizarre. I love it.

  • This is great! Thanks! This is not supposed to be funny, but poignant, and it does a great job of showing how naive people are who think gay is some sort of choice! Thanks again!

  • That's super clever. I love it.

  • oh, i loved it!

  • 4:25 !! Priceless moment !! i can't stop laughing !!

  • That was a really cool way to look at coming out! It was funny too! Great job!

  • omg!!!!!!!!! funnest thing i have ever wacthed!

  • i love it its the same why would you pick on a gay kid if its morally wrong to pick on the deaf deaf people cant change being deaf the same way gays cant change being gays its not a phase its part of life your born with

  • what does coming out mean

  • "I've got some hearing AIDS too". Pretty funny.

  • loved it... choosing to remain ignorant is the biggest disability... and the film was so funny.. loved it...

  • loved it, what fun... how seriously funny...

  • I love this!!!

And I think it's for gay people and deaf people because, ultimately, anyone who doesn't conform to the mass idea of the 'norm' is seen as different, and therefore lesser!!

Think about it...no hearing or straight person ever has to defend their choices, yet those who don't conform to mass ideals have to either hide or justify!!

It's a messed up world out there!

    Thanks for sharing x

  • @2304sarah1 I don't think anyone's quite got it the way you've got it - thank you!

  • @2304sarah1 I kind of agree with you, apart from your use of the word "choice". You say that "no hearing or straight person ever has to defend their choices", well, neither being hearing/deaf nor being straight/gay is a choice, you're born like that. So I'd say it's about being accepted for who you are more than trying to defend your choices.

  • @Emi0612 You are absolutely right!! :)

  • @2304sarah1 what the fuck? comparing homosexuality to physical impair?

  • @2304sarah1 Exactly, no need to come out, you were that before you came out. Just be yourself and stick the middle finger to haters on the way.

  • @2304sarah1 very good comment by the way, and for once in my life I can say thats the truth and a fact!

  • @bloodyredtape My my what a potty mouth you have there. Might wanna watch what you say on here. lol poor thing was never taught language skills.

  • lol, mom

  • Epic win.

I love this video so much; it's so amazingly hilarious. x3

  • This is great! What a pun on the usual "coming out" tale! LOL.

  • Nice video, but i dont know what it's about...

is it about a hearing boy who want to become deaf, or is it a gay deaf boy, or mum didnt know that her son is deaf?

  • its a joke

  • I LOVE this skit. I am a mother and sexuality is what it is. Great comparison. Kudos!

  • its for gay people not deaf people

  • @jacd2k9 its for everybody..... dont asume anything .... think about it.....

  • lol that was't wut i was expectin. i liked it

  • Comment removed

  • lmao. and she never knew. hot btw. lol

  • I wish!

  • brilliant!! can't wait to share this video wth my friends.....very funny and a great message.

  • this is one of the funniest thigns ive ever seen...idk how ppl cant get it

  • I love how you put in subtitles for actual deaf people!!!!

I sometimes get a few very sweet regular customers at the pharmacy I work at, so I've been learning a few ASL phrases to make them feel more comfortable. :]

My baby ferret was born deaf, but she's learned a few simple ASL commands in the past year! (come, roll over, spin, high-five, kisses, blah blah etc...)

British comedy kicks ass, always! :D

  • i dont like this idea but good show to hearing people you are proud deaf

  • Ha! :) Very cute film! Thanks for that.

  • great video...definitely going in my favs

  • Amazing! Thank you for the captions, I know ASL, but not BSL. Wonderful!

    I want to see more!

  • I loved this video. I am sad that so many people seem to miss the point, but I wanted to you that I loved it and thought it was very creative and moving to me.

    Thank You.

  • *great bit

  • OMG I TOTALLY GETIT!!! that is the best video EVER! LOL it made me burst out laughing! I love the message and the irony LOL great bid ^_^

  • Excellent!

  • ????????????????????

  • i dont get what the vid was tring to say but it was funny

  • It was trying to make people understand that no, homosexuality is not just a phase. It's not something you choose or grow out of.

    It's damn funny, though. x]

  • People don't tend to grow out of deafness either...

  • That was well funny, well done.

  • i don't get it but was funny

  • damn that was so funny!

  • Brilliant (oh, yeah, somebody already said that)

  • soooooooo funny

  • BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

This was hilarious! i lovedd it x]

  • LMAO!!!... the ending was priceless...

  • i dont get it? someone explain please? lol :S

  • It was the clever use of the stereotypical "coming out" story applied to deafness instead of gayness. But if you pay attention, you also get a perspective of deaf culture from a deaf person's perspective ... actually a rare thing to see on television or film, where the perspective is always the dominant culture and its emphasis on needing to "fix" deafness or see it as a problem. Deaf people don't think it's a problem that needs fixing. Neither does the main character in this short film!
