I made Chicken Alfredo Spaghetti Squash last night. I was very pleasantly surprised. It will not fool anybody into thinking it was real pasta but it is absolutely a substitute you can live with. My husband really liked it and trust me he is a picky eater and sometimes brutally honest.
The squash cooks in the microwave in 10 - 12 minutes and dinner is on the table. Like I said it was a very nice surprise. And enough left over for lunch today. Yippee!
Anybody staggeringly dumb and weak minded enough to devote their lives to an obviously deficient fad diet should not be allowed to have kids anyway. And anybody who EVER makes a reference to Ricki Martin without any irony shouldnt be allowed to either. I guess those things go together though, the most superficial, unsophisticated, self obsessed parasites tend to scrape the bottom of the cultural barrel in all regards. You are an obnoxious waste of space, you look fucking terrible and sick.
You look like a fucking walking corpse, jesus christ, you are dead on your feet! Your body can't regenerate tissue and cells because of a lack of carbohydrates, walking fucking death! The worst thing is you have fucked your body up on a molecular level, any attempt to eat properly now will result in massive weight gain. You would need five years to recover from this and have your body return to a healthy state and metabolism. Stop spreading this garbage, you annoying gullible imbecile!
I am new at this You tube thing, and to your LLVLC on You Tube so how often do you have episodes of how to cook dishes? I am new but so excited! Is there a journal site that you can keep up with your progress?
Welcome to YouTube! I do "how to" low-carb food videos from time to time as does my fellow Atkins diet buddy on YouTube named Bowulf. Check him out! As for my "journal site," check out livinlavidalowcarb dote come slash blog. :)
Shirataki noodles are made from a fiber-based flour called gluomannan and can be a great substitution for pasta for people on a low-carb diet. You can get them in a lot of health grocery stores now like Whole Foods or Fresh Market under one of two brand names: Konjac shirataki or House Foods. House includes some tofu in them and they are a little easier to chew. But pure shirataki noodles are the ones you get from Konjac. You have to parboil them and sautee in butter to make them soft.
It's pretty easy...you can get a really big pot, fill it up with water, cut the spaghetti squash in half and boil it 'til kingdom come (about 45-60 minutes). Or I've heard some people bake it in the oven for 30 minutes or so to soften it up...never tried that way since boiling is so easy. Then when it's soft, but use your fork to make the "noodles." IT'S AWESOME!!!
Yay they're back! I missed these videos. LOVE,LOVE,LOVE speghetti squash. For some reason I thought it was too high in carbs. I'll have to buy one soon now. :)
LOL! Actually, a spaghetti squash is different from a butternut squash or other garden squashes. It looks kinda like the shape of a melon, but it's squash. And when you cook it up by boiling or baking it in the oven, the "angel hair pasta" consistency happens when you use a fork to string it all out. This is AMAZING stuff and I encourage you to look for it at your local farmer's market or perhaps your supermarket.
Isn't it fun to talk about what you CAN eat when doing low carb? Does Christine have a recipe she likes for sauce on sphaghetti squash? Commercially made sauces can have sugar.
Yes, it is LOADS of fun looking at the faces of people when I tell them how healthy I eat! :D
We use Hunt's No Sugar Added Spaghetti Sauce for our spaghetti squash and meatballs meal. It has 6g carbs per serving and is delicious! There are some homemade brands of spaghetti sauce that contain less sugar/carbs, so you'll have to look for them or make some of your own. We don't make our own, but that's not a bad idea. THANKS Amelia!
