my mini aussie has such a personality and i dont think that full sized are smarter i honestly think minis are smarter because my aunt has a full sized that is just plain boring and has no personality. mine thinks every thing is so interesting and fun that it is just funny
Thats what my toy aussie did when he was a puppy I miss Eddie being a pupy but then again i have Oliver who is a pupy and does the same thing they r so dang cute I could just squeze em! mine luv 2 cuddle thats the best part bout havin my pupies.Eddie is Ollies dad Olie also has a brother Albert and a sister Mia. Your dog is UNBELIEVABLY cute!! Even though i have a dog right now i decided that I would get a brother and sister Mini Aussi named Lily and Bruce :D Im sorry but i did chuckle when it kind of ran into the table but for all the jerks who say that mini aussies aren't as good as normal: Shut up! No one cares (well no one with a life) if the dog isn't completely approved THEY'RE STILL A DOG that deserves caring and love
well i have been an aussie lover my whole life and she is an absolute doll, even if she doesn't look like a "typical" one. if you love australian shepherds, you love all of them!
U Are so lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've always wanted one, but my mom said they get to big. So instead i got stuck with a cocker spaniel. To tell u the truth i;d rather have a aussie than a stupid cocker!
this made me so sad. you're dog is so cute. My Mini Aussie, Novia, just got ran over yesterday and i can't stop thinking about her. I loved her so much. Aussie's are so much fun and they are so well mannered, and of course CUTE!! Have fun with Tuesday! She'll be you're best friend just like Novia was mine.
Sadly whoever sold you your munchkin didn't bother to mention that there's no such thing as a Toy australian shephard. This dog is clearly mixed with something other than Australian Shepherd...his head is all wrong as well as his muzzle. I'm sure it was bred to something tiny and came out looking close enough to pass. Still a smart little lovebug though!!!
We figured that might be the case, but we did a lot of research beforehand. She's from a mini breeder, but she herself is exceptionally small and so "toy-sized", though not in a technical or official way. In this video she is very young, her head and muzzle do not look much like that anymore.
yes, there is such thing as toy sized now...but before there wasnt. they have toy and mini sized now under nsdr and asdr and a few others. I myself just bought a mini/toy aussie yesterday and she is quite the cutie pie :)
Alamo Aussies appear to breed Mini's not toys...Toys are not recognized by AKC and by standard are less than 13" high for anyone interested in the difference. Mini's are somewhere between 14-18" in height and they are not recognized by AKC either. You can get registered with National Stock Dog registry though.
They breed minis, true, but she was born from the two smallest minis they had, and she was a runt, and thus do to her small size and weight (10.4 lbs, 11in), she is what is considered toy-sized.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A TOY OR MINI AUSSIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are completely different breeds! Not varities! Who would support something like this, no offense! She's cute and everything but she's not an Aussie! If you want an Aussie, GET AN AUSSIE, not something passed off to look like one. Don't give me any "it's not official or technical" stuff because you're obviously supporting it. -.-
You are so unbelievably terrible. Go get angry about some real world issues. If only everyone's lives were as simple as yours, spending your time getting upset about dog breeds.

Well you obviously don't care about the real Australian Shepherd nor love dogs as much as I do. I just hate the fact that so many people are supporting Mini and Toy Aussies or whatever you call them. This better not mean a bad fate for the real Australian Shepherd since everyone is being retarded and going after a little purse-sized dog. So shut your trap and get outta my face.
I own a toy australian shepherd, he exhibits every common personality trait of the full size. Not to mention appearance in alignment. Whats wrong with loving any type of australian shepherds? Pull your head out of your ass lady, toys are exceptionally intelligent, affectionate, loyal and of very mild temperament, so stop discriminating. The main difference is they are cheaper and easier to raise and maintain, and maybe even cuter.
you know what... some people would LOVE to have a "Standard" size aussie but some people dont have the room or live in apartments and need something smaller to be fair to the dog! I think they are the perfect size (mini's especially!) Just because they are registered with AKC and all the other breed clubs doesnt mean people dont want them! I just bought a toy/mini aussie two weeks ago. Your puppy is adorable.... mine is a blue eyed tri color puppy!
@KristenM12345 Do you have experience in breeding? I'd encourage you to read up on your genetics and history of breeding. I support anyone that exhibits responsible pet ownership. You are obviously a very charismatic individual so why not use that charisma for good by encouraging responsible pet ownership. I would focus on people learning about Aussies and what their personalities. So many people get herding dogs only to regret the decision later.
@KristenM12345 First off they are a breed they were breed down from Standard Size Aussie's. It's basically Controlled "evolution". I have a standard Aussie, but to say that toy or mini's are not an actual breed is ridiculous. Plus For people that live in Apartments a standard size Aussie is not the right fit. Plus bigger dogs aren't for everyone.
Very cute!!!! I have one too. Check out "Neva the sleepy puppy" if you want to see a red merle pup. Again-Very CUTE.

so tell me if i'm right, to tell if they are blue or red merle you kinda tell by the eyes and the fur color? that is what i guess
HoosierPuppie 1 year ago
@HoosierPuppie Yeah, you can tell by their eye and fur color, usually. Tuesday has 4 different colors in her fur and one brown eye and one blue eye.

i hate mini aussies because there not naturaly !
ofbluevalley 3 years ago
We're talking about dog breeds here, any kind of controlled breeding isn't "natural". So I guess you must like wild dogs and wolves.

There is such a thing as a Toy and a Miniature Australian Shepherd THOUGH they are not recognized as a size variety by AKC, CKC, UKC or ASCA.
They have their own Registries/Breed Clubs and many many show venues.
NAMASCUSA
MASCA
NSDR
Research is the key.
