  • elvis loved roy's voice BIG TIME. equally enjoyable as the Platters version

  • The best singer ever and one of his best songs ever

  • No one else ever came close to this mans voice and songwriting talent, it was fantastic to have grown up and listened to this guy in the sixties when he was alive and recording these wonderfull stories of love and sadness. RIP Roy.

  • @clouds882 yes, it's rather nice.

  • @clouds882 Yes I agree - beautiful version.

  • Sheer magic ,this was the best version ever , this guy could sing anything and make it sound brilliant.

  • 10yrs of age when Roy Orison first entered my memory for his singing ability. That really never changed except for some maturity in his vioce. Even when he was with "the Traveling Wilbury's his voice showed above the rest. Today I still get that same feeling of elation when I hear him sing whether it be one of his first songs to the last ones he performed.

  • How can u beet this!!!!!!!

  • He cant be beaten for clarity of voice ,feeling and range of octaves ,such a pure sweet voice ,thanks for up-load

  • I am in awe of such a voice!!!

  • words cannot express!!!!!!!

  • the finish is so orbison, better than the platters, but both are great.

  • Very enjoyable

  • I personally think the one by The Platters is more awesome. But this one is awesome too!!

  • this is a great song by the big O

  • I miss the ol traveling wilbury! God Bless

  • Roy Orbison is the greatest thing to happen to music since Beethoven.

  • THANKS FOR SHARING !

  • @clochette67 ,.,and thanks for listening.

  • Better than the version of the Platters. Best version ever! Best voice ever, nobody could sing like Roy and nobody will never sing like The Big O. I miss you very much my friend, rest in peace!

  • Is there a site with photos of Roy that I can print. Or somewhere that I may order?

    Approx a 12 x 16 or so.

this site is absolutley the best, incredible.

  • @rocknrolls2001 Thank you. Can't help with the photos, though.

  • The Greatest Singer ever...a voice from the Angels..Perfect

  • @SirBasildeBrush Ty so very much Bas. I adore Roy, and anything I can listen to that's a bit out of the norm. is wonderful to me. I have many of his vinyls and CD s.plus vids, also double recordings of Sky arts 1, which is fantastic. I haven't got this old Platters number so once again ty xxx Glenda-Marie.

  • a nice and song brillent my prayer its melts me carl lawson 1000000000000000000000000 per cent good from for love greif depression it will heal ur pain his voice and music

  • Dude

WHERE CAN I FIND THE REMIX?!

  • What a voice , I am lost for words that can do justice to this mans talent , lets just say Totally Perfect and leave it at that.

  • True, Tony Williams and his Platters were in a class of their own and, if I were a singer, only with a great deal of trepidation would I cover one of their classics; but the Big O almost makes one forget the original. The Big O, in my opinion, actually surpasses The Platters in the more direct vocal at the beginning, but The Platters do better on the bridge, with Williams' more dramatic, indeed operatic, inflections.

  • Is there nothing this man cannot sing perfect , what a star , what a voice.

  • amazing!

  • La version original es de la gran epoca de The Platters y es una obra maestra.Aqui estamos en la mas maravillosa epoca de el grandisimo Roy y nos brinda una excelente version.

  • Great version by Roy.

  • thank you for the invite, I love this song, I'm a huge Roy Fan. Reccomending it for me, your so nice.

  • @gordharris Many thanks, I'm also a big Roy fan.

  • Wow !!!!!! Typical Orbison !!!!! Absolutely fantastic. !!!!!!

Thank you for the post Sir !

  • @kjdoowop. Thank you, and thanks for all those exclaimations!

  • After THE PLATTERS, it is my opinion that NO ONE should ever DARE to sing this song !!!

  • @iatedmen I tended to agree... until I heard this version by the great Roy Orbison.

  • Big,Big O. My FAVORITE.

  • Roy Hamilton does a version of this - not to be mixed up with -stupidly enough- another, completely different song by the same name.

Roy Hamilton does this exact same song - but I can't find the thing here anymore - where'dit go?

You gotta hear it. Even after hearing Orbison do this - I think Hamilton's is the cat's pajamas.

Can't find it - but I must. I have it on itunes - found on Limewire. But can't find it here anymore...

  • One thing I have to say about Roy's version, he has the strongest ending out of all the versions.

  • Classic, thumping Orbison ending!

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • Yes indeed, the big O! Such a beautiful song! Sigh......

  • SOOO beautiful and very emotional, well done by the greatest!!! Roy Orbison!

  • AWSOME, AWSOME!!!! That was better than when the Platter's sing it! GREAT SONG DONE BY ROY!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for the reaction and the comment!

  • I love the way Roy sings, But The Platters own this song! Everybody else comes in second!
