At the Princess Kailuanai hotel lounge. We met as 2 old military veterans. He was Army, I'm Navy. We spent the night telling war stories, together. You don't know his whole tale. I met him in person a while back at a convintion in Kentucky. Behind the scottish accent is a very genuinely kind & loving man. We had a good long conversation. I personally took his passing kinda hard. I'm gonna miss him a lot.

We started talking, and when he realised that I was a veteran, we really started to speak to each other. He was a gentleman. He told me some of his exploits during the war. I never understood why the creators always hid the fact that James Doohan was missing his middle finger. Scotty is an Engineer, and accidents happen. It would have actually given the character more depth as it shows how much he loves his profession.
