  • Brilliant photo montage, and the music is inspired. Yes....Scotty, the best engineer bar none. A chunk of Scottish granite that would stand shoulder to shoulder with you in battle...and fight to the end.

  • One great engineer, and his fair maiden, the Enterprise.

  • I really enjoyed watching him on Star Trek, great trbute

  • scotty why you must die? Rest In Peace.

  • what band sings this song or whats it called?

  • @pum84 "The Parting Glass" this is the Shaun Davey version. From the great movie "Waking Ned Devine"

  • I'm guessing those 4 dislikes are the 4 people on the planet who don't like the film brave-heart.

  • thanks to everyone who has enjoyed this tribute... take care everyone

  • @BXV2 With your permission, I wan't this played at my funeral. I am an old Navy propulsion engineer. I guess you can call me a coleague of Scottie. But, I'm steam. I've actually met Mr. Doohan. At the Princess Kailuanai hotel lounge. We met as 2 old military veterans. He was Army, I'm Navy. We spent the night telling war stories, together. You don't know his whole tale. My God, I can't believe he survived!! I made a promise. =Stefan=

  • SCOTTY IS CREDIT TO TEAM

  • i dont think you could have found a better song to fit scotty in the world

  • RIP Bones and Scotty. Sad to watch the episodes now. I enjoyed the TOS movies more then the TNG movies.

  • @pazios2002 And RIP the "Great Birdof the Galaxy", MR. Gene Roddenberry. Without him there would be no Star Trek. We have also lost Majel Barret, and Mark Leonard. (Christine Chapel aka #1, and Sarek). =Stefan=

  • He was really the best engineer ever! I miss you so much dear James... rest in peace mate

  • Scotty was the best engineer ever and my favorite character on Star Trek. Live long and prosper, you will always be one of my heroes!

  • I love the original series!

This video here actually made me cry....sorry.

Fare well James, we wil never forget you, NEVER!!!

    Live long....and prosper my friend....

  • i didnt now that he focht , but i mise him : (

  • Did we know...

    James Doohan-veteran of D-Day Normandy..

Shot by German machinegun while crossing a minefield. Blew his middle finger off and put 4 bullets though his legs.

    Guy was a stud.

  • Aye. James was the real "McCoy"....hehe

But a great man, who cared about his family, friends, and fans. He is missed.

  • @actonbath- that is awsome insight into the man James Doohan. I will always look at him with a whole new amount of respect from now on. I see you've got this info posted on several vids...now that's dedication to inform the masses. Thanks.

  • A Legend!

  • Great tribute. He's the reason I'm a mechanical engineer, and Irish. It's true we celts make the best engineers, in the world!

  • And for me Star Trek is the reason to be an engineer (electrical, no matter what kind of engineer exactly)

    Epic !

  • I could never imagine another Montgomery Scott, fitted the role to perfection.Who in the wolrd has never heard "beam me up Scotty" very few I can assure you.

  • The new movie has a decent Scotty (S Pegg), but no one will evereven come close to Jimmy Doohan. RIP

  • Every time Kirk left Scotty in command of the Enterprise, he knew it was in good hands.

  • thanks!

  • The one and only engineer.

  • I love this tribute. Using "The Parting Glass" from Ned Devine is perfect. Well done. Jimmy was such a gentleman and real hero. Here's to you, Jimmy!

  • that man right there is the whole reason im studying to be and electronics engineer

  • same here. he's a true hero.

  • Beam all of us Scotty!!!

  • God, so true! :D

  • beam me up god

  • Beam me up Scotty!

  • yes jimmy doohan was born in vancouver where i was born he is canadian so americans keep your greedy hands off him claiming hes american thats the same for Yvonne De Carlo !

  • pum, I don't claim Mr. Doohan as American. He is the finest engineer in Star Fleet. "{If it ain't broke, ask Scotty)". Did you know that he stormed the beach at Normandy? He is really a hero. (Yes, I love Lilly Munster as well). =Stefan=

  • agreed

  • JD was Canadian AND Scottish.

    As I American and Scotts-IRish.

  • Tuviste una larga vida y prosperidad, gracias Scotty

  • It was a great man.

  • I miss Scotty...sometime I will be beamed up!

  • Yes he played a great Scot but was infact Canadain, just like William Shatner.

  • im scottish, and he is a big hero to us,long live the man.

  • May his spirit always live on.

  • lovely tribute to Mr Scott of the starship enterprise - the miracle worker.

    Thanks

    ATVmidlandsUK

  • Somewhere, Scotty's repairing God's warp drive ahead of schedule. *wipes eyes*

  • Yes, Agreed!

  • I met him in person a while back at a convintion in Kentucky. Behind the scottish accent is a very genuinely kind & loving man. We had a good long conversation. I personally took his passing kinda hard. I'm gonna miss him a lot.

    My favorite Quotes:

    ST:TOS-Beam Me Up Scotty

    ST:IV-Admiral, there be whales here!

ST:IV-Excelsior! Why in God's name would you want that bucket of bolts? What ever ya say sir, thy will be done.

ST:VI-She's taking quite a wallup... Shields weakening!

  • Damn I get the chills when I see this :')

  • This guy was a real hero.

  • Truly the best engineer! I loved his humor!

  • We all loved him and this a beautiful tribute to our 'Scotty'

  • Scottie was the reason I became a Navy Propulsion engineer. He guided me. I now see that. =Stefan=

  • The Legendary Of Starfleet

  • Beautiful :)

  • Thank you for this nice video.

    Wonderful music.

"Scotty" was a part of my youth. He lived long and prosper.

  • Excellent choice of music. 4 stars for that alone.

    Visually, nothing great.

He's still the best engineer there ever was.

  • thank you, and yes visually it could have been better... but given this was my first video i think it worked pretty good.

  • BXV2, This video is magnificent!!! And, your first? we are going to see some fine things, from you! Just keep going!!! Don't quit. Follow your dreams. =Stefan=

  • The Music brought tears to my eyes, as an ex

Air Cadet(RCAC)'69-'76 then Forces member '76-'84 and of my own Scot/Celtic heritage.

    Lead the way, Sir!

  • thank you to everyone that has viewed this and has posted comments. i still get tears when i watch it.

  • BXV2, I met Mr. Doohan a few years ago(never mind how many). We met in the bar of the hotel of the convention. We started talking, and when he realised that I was a veteran, we really started to speak to each other. He was a gentleman. He told me some of his exploits during the war. I have a more personal reason to miss him. =Stefan=

  • We all miss "Scotty"

    I salute you!

  • BXV2, A P.S. here, we got extreml

  • Belay that last comment. I am not 100% tonight. I miss my friend, James. =Stefan=

  • you aren't the only one

  • Rest in peace my old friend and greet the stars for me!

  • Ironically, im mostly scot, and he is my favorite. he represents a goood people in a perfect way. he exemplifies scotland in every way. needless to say he is a role model.

  • warp speed now mr scott! the bloke is a legend -lovely fitting tribute with beautiful music. long live the original crew of the enterprise

  • What song is that? It's lovely.

  • the song is called The Parting Glass :D

  • Your tribute to Mr. Scott is magnificent. However, you left yourself open with your view of the ladies of Star Trek. You left out Dr. Pulaski. (Also Kes, 7 of 9, Seska, Bellana, and Adm. Nicheyev). But most of all, Dr. Pulaski. Just thought i'd call you on it. (Dr. Pulaski, played by Diane Muldaur). =Stefan=

  • this was my first video and i didn't mean to leave anyone out, the tribute was to Scotty and that was just a general image i found for that one spot that i found fit in.

  • @BXV2 I watched the video again, tonight. The affect was the same. I couldn't stop the tears. You'd figure a man my age could control it. But, I actually met Mr. Doohan. When he learned that Iam a veteran, as well, we spent until closing time swapping war stories. I miss him, greatly. =Stefan=

  • Beautiful, just beautiful. This is the finest tribute to Scotty I have seen. Here's to you Mr. Scott. The engineer's engineer. =Stefan=

  • We all loved scotty.

  • I never understood why the creators always hid the fact that James Doohan was missing his middle finger. Scotty is an Engineer, and accidents happen. It would have actually given the character more depth as it shows how much he loves his profession.
