This is the 18 Luohan Hands set that Shaolin adopted from the Shandong Hua Quan style. it went from Shandong province to Luoyang city in Henan (very near Shaolin) then to Shaolin.
It is a great set to learn (2 man version is good too).
yes we also that form at our school...I believe it's more of a traditional northern shaolin set that has been passed on outside of the temple
While the protesters commented earlier is probably refering to the 18 lohan hands form that is currently being taught at the temple and where "modern shaolin" disciples are found teaching in the world.
It is VERY COMMON to have different forms with the same name within and outside the style.
VERY similar to the 18 Arhat set we did when I was doing Shaolin. There is a two man set that is taught after this that is based on the same pattern, do you do that as well?
WE call it Shih Pa Lohan So at my school "18 Lohan Hands". We have a different beginning and end but its obviously from the same source. I wish my front jump kick looked that good! Thanks for posting this!
these are the advance lohans. i only know the basic lohans
