  • What ever happened to the high tenor singer of this group. He is great !

  • sorry musicforHisglory i didnt see what u said about jay & now that i have heard hay sing i completely 100% agree with u

  • i disagree with brian free being the best but my all time fav is ivan parker anyways & nobody will ever b able to touch ivans voice. sorry musicforHisglory11 i really hate to say anything against anybodys opinion but i had to put up my thoughts

  • OK, I've officially changed my opinion. In the last few days, Jay Parrack has become my favorite tenor ever. Dude could sing!

  • Great tenor voice, but Brian Free was the best they ever had.

  • Amazing quartet.

  • 1:40 i pooped myself

  • Anybody know what's up with Doug Riley (drummer) at 2:32? He looks kinda ticked off.

  • @GamingDrummer89 I think he's just getting really into it. i do the same thing, as do a lot of drummers when they're playing.

  • @BnCSGMusic Haha, either that or he was getting sick of all the clapping on the downbeat going on during that song! :D

  • one of the best tenors [i like jimmy fortune]...just heard this group about 1 month ago...love it...awesome

  • sounds good.... this a super group

  • 1. love the tenor!

    2. love the bass!

    3. love the song! 4. amazing live performance! 5. god bless you guys!

Deus Abençoe a vida desses caras.

  • I'm with the drummer....white people killin me clapping on 1 and 3 instead of 2 and 4...LOL

  • @Nolezfan21 Haha! And trust me, we're not the only two on here who feel this way...and just imagine the way Doug Riley felt playing those drums with that whole choir clapping on 1 and 3! XD

  • When did Jay retired? I like when these Gold City sang "Not Giving Up".

  • Love this song...it's got great and true lyrics, it's got a catchy beat, and it features one of the best tenors of all time AND one of the best basses of all time. I do wish the people would start clapping on the upbeat instead of the downbeat (I'm a drummer and so this probably annoys me more than the average person, lol), but that's not the song's fault. Great song!

  • Was Gods building a church originally recorded with Jay parrack?

  • yes

  • Live is inspired and real, speaks to the heart,GOD speaks thru certain songs like tis one,in troubled times of Government taking everything except our Faith....

  • silly... I love Gold City...but I can't understand why people always have to divert strait to the government, when speaking of God... What about -your- actions?? do you ever have time to worry about THEM?? and your message makes no sense, the song is about the Men who sing it.. your comment is the same as saying that God almighty wishes for certain football teams to win a game, and not others....

  • Amazing sound, amazing quartet. I wish these guys were still together...the new guys also have a good sound, but no one could ever fill Tim Riley's shoes....i forget the tenor's name...it'll come to me, but he's also one of the very best.....creme de la creme( i know i misspelled that...;)

  • Jay Parrack I believe is the name of the Tenor

  • I love The Gold city from the 80's. But this is my personal favorite of all Time!!!

  • One of the best quartet's ever!

  • Tim Riley the best !!!
