For me this song is a song for fathers to listen too, it tells them u might want to be duing ur own buisness but before you know it tile will fly by and you will find yourself helping your daughter/son packing for college. I hope one day ,y dad listens to this <3

I Love this song <3 I so wish I could auctually dance with my dad! But my mom left him before I was born :/ because they weren't married & they were fighting & that was almost 14 years ago! I've had atleast 4 step dads since then it's a little tough at times, but that's why I live with ym Grandparents. It sucks not having an auctual family but i've learned to just live with it & be greatful for what I have instead of what I don't have (: <3

I just had my year 12 retreat, and they told us the story behind this song and then played it for us, a lot of people got emotional, I was one of them, for I would so wish to be able to dance with my dad.
The story is this father wrote this song for his daughter, then his daughter got married and in some freak accident her husband ran over there song backing out of the driveway, they played the song at the funeral. People asked the father whether he was angry at his son-in-law, he sad no, listen
