Ron Paul seeks to cut ALL foreign aid, including Israel. That's a good idea. Israel should not seek aid from a Christian Nation, Judism judges Jesus Christ to be a false Messiah and a curse. They vehemently oppose any type of conversion efforts especially from Evangelicals. So the idea of a Christian nation such as the U.S. giving Israel aid is probably the biggest behind the scenes joke in Israel.

To solve the Israel Palestine dispute you would have to start by putting the whole world and the Palestinians on one side and the U.S. and Israel on the other side, and then have a neutral party work out a deal, the U.S. can not be both the main underwriter of Israel and the neutral party to abritrate it's problems with the Palastinians.

I wouldn't be as against foreign aid if we adopted the Chinese style. Right now we just send boxcars of money that disappear into the various governments' coffers. The USA gets no credit, and they get to do whatever they want with it.
The Chinese will build public works like stadiums then name it something obvious and brag about how they built it for them. They get the credit at its fair cost. At least the hypocrisy of people chanting Death to America in Washington Stadium-Cairo would amuse me.

One thing that is forgotten when the topic of Israel comes up, is the debt America owes to our Jewish friends. Had it not been for Jews, such as Haym Solomon, and all their financial assistance when this nation was fighting against the British, there would be no United States. Let's end assistance to all other countries, but we must never abandon Israel. We should be their strongest ally. That Mr. Paul can't distinguish between an ally and an entangling alliance is troubling for me.

1) Sharia law is dangerous to everyone.
2) The US military preserves the peace which allows for the existence of over 180 countries. Without the US, war and empires would breakout reducing prosperity for hundreds of millions of people, if not billions of people.
3) US Military expenditures currently make up less than 5 percent of all US government expenditures.
4) “Foreign aid” is a misnomer. It is more of subsidy for free trade. I know it is not seen that way, but that is how it operates.
