This happens to all trucking companies, not just Swift. Those drivers made bad decisions and were most likely tired when they made them. Unless you've had that job, you don't know anything about it. I'm a former driver (with an excellent safety record by the way). If you don't know what you are talking about, might be better not to say anything.

@AllenFarlow All companies do have an occasional bad driver however the area I live in almost every single truck wreck involves a swift truck and a driver making a bad decision. I have even talked to loading dock workers who have had to wait over an hour for a driver to try to back up and get loaded due to not being able to. Swift may have some decent drivers with clean safety records but as many bad ones as they have around here the accidents speak for themselves.

Its not easy driving these trucks. A lot of the roads out there are just not designed to accommodate 40ft trailers. And many streets do not allow vehicles over a certain weight. That plus the D.O.T breathing down your neck all the time, scales, tickets for this and that.

@nosajj12345 bullshit, the roads can handle 53 ft' trailers just fine. Some truckers might be traveling on roads they were not suppose to be on in the first place. It is very easy to control a tractor trailer if you know what you are doing and those scales you mainly either pass through or if you are lucky you have a pre pass transponder to where you might not have to pull in. It is all routine and experience after awhile.
