  • how about the brainwashing going on there? how about all missionary talks given to those little children? how about sending those kids to homes of aged and invalid to "exercise" their missionary abilities, before their real "trips"? i don't think this is an objective video, it's just an ad. give 'em shoes and is it ok? how bout next year? will their feet fit into them?

  • I barfed up that milkshake. XD

    .

    .

    .

cause you all needed to know that lol.

    ahhh. good memories:))

  • @pm3mlis Beyond the religious context, you are right, this is absolutely a life changing experience, and it's a guarantee you'll look at life differently after one of these trips. Boot camp was hard yes, but let me tell you it allowed me to understand how rough I can take it . Scotland and India were epiphanies for me, maybe not in the way Bob Bland and co. hoped, but it grew me up quickly and gave me insight and reverence for other's way of life and culture, life changing and amazing.

  • @gwennwittig

As someone who tries to do my good works as quietly as God instructed, I can never get the bad taste out of my mouth that missionary work and evangelical doctrine has left in my mouth.

Why does a pair of shoes have to be immediately related to God? Why can't the sermon wait until the recipient asks why you do such nice things. If anyone asks why my marriage is good or why I do nice things I'll testify until the cows come home but everyday that I live is a testament to the Lord.

  • haha! Christianity is the most stupid thing I have ever, ever seen. Out of all the 10 commandments you could have one of them is: "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife" Fucking retarded.

  • :| where exactly is the bootcamp.....?

  • I remember teen missions. I went on a trip to Honduras. It was tough, especially boot camp but ill never forget it. Best part was wen we got back and we got to actually sleep in air conditioned rooms.lol Haha, dam I member washing my clothes in a bucket and sleeping in tents and getting up early to run that obstical course. Haha, nd I still got my "I live like a Pig" sign."lol After a month wit your group it is hard ta say goodbye tho,... Goodtimes

  • I went with TMI to Honduras too lol in 2001 on a preteen team

  • I saw a video something like this when I was just 11. I couldn't wait until I was 13. I fell in love with Teen Missions and attended 10 summer camps since then. This video reminds me of my life back at Indian Boot Camp.

  • i am gonna do one of these someday

  • i jst did the same thing!!! in aussie!! so fun!

  • i have been on 5 different teams with TMI and was also a volunteer one summer. this is a life changing organization!! i'm considering being a leader this summer.

  • i want to go soooooo bad!!! but i don't think my parents would ever let me go overseas and not for a whole summer! and it cost alot... but i'm going to keep dropping hints and find some way to go. thanks for posting the video:)

  • i think this is the camp i wanna go on....im trying to save up 2 go....so if its something the Lord wants me to do he will find a way!

  • Oh my Gosh there is a picture of me from like 4 years ago! Wow I so do not miss boot camp, but I do miss all the kids we help and got to know in Guatemala. We had the best leaders in the entire camp!

  • OMG there is a picture of me from like 4 years ago!!!

I don't miss boot camp, but I do miss all the kids we helped!

  • Nice to see people helping, but .... I'm not so fond of people taking advantage over other peoples poor condition/situation to push religious beliefs on them.

  • Two years ago I went to The Lord's Bootcamp as training to go to Trinidad and Tobago. It was the most difficult and amazing thing I have ever done. I went during college of my own free will and had the best experience of my life.

I feel bad that some people are saying that this is brainwashing. It is nothing of the sort. It is young people who love God and want to spread that love to the world, following what God commanded them to do-love one another. This is the best way we know how.

  • I watched this a couple days ago. Now, of course its not as bad as jesus camp but one thing that distirbed me was them at the senior home talking to them about jesus.

  • As a Christian, it is very sad to hear people who probably consider themselves very tolerant, who can not tolerate the thought of young people going to Africa to provide care and shoes for children who without them. Let me pose a question : if you knew someone had a medical condition that you were sure would cause their death would you not try to change it? Whether you believe in Jesus or not, these young people are trying to do what they see as right.

  • the non-religious gal who would do drugs now and again and wanted to go to Africa "just for rhe children"...she is the best...the blond pre-teen "surveying for Jesus" in Indiana, I pray for you

to think that people will go to hell because they don't believe Jesus Christ is their savior....that is very "elitist" : )

  • If that's your logic for calling someone "elitist", then you're just as guilty. So you don't agree with her opinion, okay that's fine. But for that you look down on her and you will "pray" for her? It sounds like you're no different.

I think it's funny how so many people consider themselves open-minded and tolerant except when confronted by someone with an opinion that they disagree with. So these girls believe in something. What harm is that to you? They've done nothing wrong. Grow up

  • Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the light. No one comes to the Father except through the Son." that's God saying right there that you DO have to accept jesus for heaven.

  • Keep up the good work!

  • Rofl. Religious teen girls are so stupid. I saw this on CBS this evening.

Lol. Christian teen girls. Lol. Whatever.

    Atheism rules.

  • same here. All of them weren't that bright to begin with, especially the one who did the surveys at the fair and whatnot.

  • The best thing we as Christians should do is treat everyone the way Jesus said and use our lives as an expample of what God can do for them. They will come to us when they are ready. I found you cant convince an athiest unless they actually see God perform a miracle in front of their eyes. Many of them will see it eventually.

  • Why bother living if thats what your end will be? U really want to just rot in the ground?

  • josh6132003:

"Why bother living if thats waht your end will be? U really want to just rot in the ground?"

I think jewunitbabe said it the wrong way, however your reason to live is to enjoy the life you are lucky to have. cooincidently the reason most religions were began is because people didn't want to fathom nothing after death.

Do you really want to believe something blindly even if its not true just because of your feeling that life would be meaningless if you didn't believe it?

  • Actually I do know. I didnt have to go on blind faith because I have seen supernatural things.

  • We often see what we are so desperate to see. Look i have no problem with your beliefs you can believe what you want. By the way that was quite a vague reply, supernatural can mean anything from casper the ghost to orbs, to a plethora of things fitting that category, none of which relate to "GOD".

  • Hey! I saw myself in that video, and my team a few times...we were seated in front of the team you were filming a lot under the bigtop.

  • I am sorry that these athiest hate Christians so much. I have been watching over the last few years they really seem to hate us alot more here in America. There are a few things we need to do that alot of groups like this have not been teaching you. They believe that we are supposed to go around just talking to everyone about Jesus. I will be honest, I dont do that. Its not our job to convince them. Thats the holy spirits job. If they open up to us then we should tell them.

  • Your video brings back so much memories. I was on 3 teen missions trip from 1980, 81 and 82. The first year I stayed in Florida, then the Philippine and last Papua New Guinea. What a great time hard work But worth it.
