This applies to videos posted on YouTube specifically. If it was my cold Italian car, I wouldn't rev it higher than that either. But I also wouldn't have my friend start filming until the car was warm and I was ready to spin some MADD donuts.

If you can't hear anything on the video try turning up your volume, sometimes when you upload videos to youtube you can accidentally forget to increase the volume when rendering.

@Strogenforcer If it's a cold engine, you can cause friction wear on the cylinder walls, piston rings, and pistons.
It can cause excess gas to go into the exhaust and ignite in your catalitic converter. Gas ignition in your exhaust melts the ceramic emission filter, which then makes the car run like having potatoes in the tailpipe.
Believe it or not, even though the car isn't in gear, the gears still will turn, so if you rev it up, it'll cause gears to wear down.
yeah, but that implies it has a non standard exhaust system. this was clearly a car with a standard exhaust system, or at least without any silencers/cats removed.
