  • These two ladys....just listen.

  • I can explain why I'm in love with her...do I have to.

  • really Dancingzera?

  • why do people feel the need to break good songs by overembellishing them?

  • Absolute perfection, 2 ladies enjoying giving us enjoyment.

Leonard, although not there would be loving this performance.

  • I.M IN LOVE. Sadly Perla doesn't know it.....yet :)

  • @piraan2 she's happily married... ;-)

  • @RoughTemptation My speciality is being in love with married women :) Maybe i just love her voice and looks an maybe I'll have to deal with it.

  • I'd like to know why, why, WHY haven't Perla Batalla and Julie Christensen teamed up together. Individually, they're magnificent. Together, they're the best there is. They don't need Leonard Cohen. Leonard Cohen needs them. It's our loss they haven't made music together.

  • Bravo to the brave camera person who managed to hold still for so long without the aid of tripod.. And I believe that it takes people capable of passion to sing this song. These two ladies do it wonderfully.

  • My God what a voice, such class!!

  • I met her yesterday at San Diego City College!!!!

She is the best, her speech was incredible...specially from an artistic point of view

  • Perla and Julie, two angels!

  • simply wonderful.

  • She is unbelievable.

  • absolutely fantastic

  • perhaps if you ever get to the high school level you'll find out just how inane your remark is. until then, welcome to oblivion.

  • Their stunning voices nailed me yet again! I'd feared I mightn't like it as well as when they'd sung it with LC--wrong! His song has so many layers to it, one can listen repeatedly & get another onion layer peeled back: with his voice and presence removed, more perspectives arise yet again! These women brought out parts of his song that weren't as apparent in the original they did with him. The test of, and a testament to, a truly great song. The best back-up singers he has ever chosen.

  • I couldn't agree more, Zootallors. These two together have so much sympatico in their voices and presence. Although Jennifer Warnes is still my favorite individual LC back-up singer. Their duet in "Take This Waltz" always gives me chills.

  • With or without Mr Cohen it is great!!! They are all absolutely beautiful people and talented. Singing souls, it cannot be any stronger...

  • Can't get any better than that,

  • wow PB and JC sing LC can't get any better than that

  • Sounds very gypsy-like. Not sexy, just singing for intertainment and money. In the true spirit of gypsies, not LC.

  • LC is LC. There's really no point in doing a cover and attempting only to copy. Better to do something else. Something new even ...

  • "Something new"? Yes. Earth-shuttering? Not at all.

But Lc version moved me and others to tears.

  • For more Cohen covers featuring Perla and Julie, check out the movie, "Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man", where they sing "Anthem".

  • They still do it for me! Leonard chose his singers well. Great stuff and still going strong. I could listen to Julie and Perla all night. "Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin"...'yes! Such lyrics.

  • Absolutely beautiful video. Love one and other while we still can...

  • I first became mesmermized by these two ladies when I saw them singing backup in some Leonard Cohen videos, but the more I listened to them I became a fan of both. Got to admire singers who sing LC songs.
