Lincoln Park Zoo though is more of a culprit than Brookfield Zoo during colder months. They have Giraffes, but than you can't see them, elephants, and there is a big area of empty pens when it's cold out (during Christmas time). They are storing the animals inside somewhere, and you can't see them. Instead of spending the wasteful money on new gorilla exhibits over there, how about indoor elephants, giraffes, and the other animals.
My problem with zoos is that yes they build these outside looking good stuff, but than the cold weather comes, and they keep the animals inside, in an enclosed area where the public can't see them. That bugs me a lot. If you are going to make a brand new thing, make sure these animals are viewable all year. If the regular Bears hate the cold weather, put them inside, but make sure people can see them all year.
