  • Sorry just saw the San Rafael part. He used that same line in NY.

  • I was at this show. I remember the T. Rex line! Where the hell was this? The Ritz?

  • What a rich life a person must have, to have someone as Todd around.

He's so nice in every perspective.....

  • what happened to the rest of the clips from this show? some of my favorite of the solo performance clips... somebody made you take 'em down?

  • very unusual i still luv it!! i luv todd...always will...its like a plug in a socket... the light comes on and things are clear...so simple and yet wonderful...thanx for the video

  • I've had a drink or 10 , but that song makes me cry. So Fuck You!

  • OMG: He screws up in exactly the same place as the 1971 WMMR show. Gotta love it!!

  • I wish there was footage of "Chain Letter"! I absolutely worship that tune.

Can't wait for the AWATS revisited tour. Roger's back! COOL!

  • I live three blocks from this club. Unfortunately its all boarded up. Yes, those WERE the days. ANd still have good drugs here in Marin, LOL

  • Todd Love!

  • Geeze I wish I could play that sober

  • Jean and I loved it-

    Denny

  • I was at this show! Some people hated it...I loved it. Awesome! I gave Todd a pick to use for "The Wheel"

  • I'm an old fan and I had the entire bootleg video of this show which was about 2 1/2 hours. I thought he was great! I saw him in Cleveland at the Nautica Stage that tour on August 29, but he was about sober then, and it rained. I loved this show. He just rambled on, and the bit with the rubber chicken was a riot. I think he was hammered by the time he got around to playing The Wheel. He couldn't stop laughing :^))

  • a very underated artist

  • Ah, but we that know who Todd is know who Todd is ga6strings.

    : D

  • todd is god!!

  • What an excellent, sweet version of The Ballad...

Reminds me of why I got into Todd back in '71.

Does anyone else remember 'We've Gotta Get You A Woman' released on Ampex Records, the single was attributed to what I thought was a band, 'RUNT'? Flip-side was the 'Laura' medley!

    Excellent video clip!

  • Wow, never saw TR play this oldie but goodie. Let's waltz!

  • "Ballad..." , maybe the most underrated Todd album in his "catalog".

  • I've always thought about how AWESOME it would be to hear him do the entire "Ballad" recording live, in which he'd switch back and forth from guitar to piano.....one can dream, right?!

  • There is something special about TR and his one man show...I really prefer this setting but I guess going to his Midwest show will do for now :)

  • I love Todd, he is Godd

  • Just Todd and his guitar - how very wonderful and pure. I can't get enough.

  • he is so mesmerizing

i have to admit this one was never my fave on ballad but just seeing him do this live has converted me and i cant get it out of my head and rotation on ipod-thanks!

  • Thanks rundgrenfan! Terrific! In 1987 that song was already an old hidden classic, and it still stands up today.

  • Wonderful. One of my faves from 'Ballad'. I've read about this show. He's not noticably drunk, just seems to be in an extra good mood. Great performance. Thanks again RundgrenFan.

  • He might be half-in-the-bag,but his vocals are on!there's something especially Beatle-esque about this tune. Thanks again, rundgrenfan!

  • no one can do a ballad like todd! the voice of an angel!

  • I have seen Todd so many times and I saw this show not the very same one but the same tour in the round at West Port in St. Louis. It was a one man show just him and a PC and me and my wife of that time in the front row. He made the very same anouncment about Rino Records and all. What made the show sooooo neet was that he played things that I had never heard him do live. A very specal night. Hell you have made me miss my X!!!!

  • Wow Rundgrenfan, that made me a bit sad. Used to sit in my bedroom alone listening to this and getting way to deep at age 16. 'The days and the years will go streaking by...

  • Me too.....I always thought Todd was the total package. A great song writer , musician, and vocalists . Sometimes his lyrics were so deep ,But then he would do other stuff that would be so fun and crazy. You'ld have to be as mad as a hatter .....

  • thanx too much/how fun

  • FANTASTIC!!

    thank you, rundgrenfan!

  • EXCELLENT

  • I don't remember ever seeing him drunk before. And I've seen him a lot. Interesting.

  • They got good drugs up there in Marin County, and the alcohol harvested apparently ain't bad either!
