very unusual i still luv it!! i luv todd...always will...its like a plug in a socket... the light comes on and things are clear...so simple and yet wonderful...thanx for the video
I'm an old fan and I had the entire bootleg video of this show which was about 2 1/2 hours. I thought he was great! I saw him in Cleveland at the Nautica Stage that tour on August 29, but he was about sober then, and it rained. I loved this show. He just rambled on, and the bit with the rubber chicken was a riot. I think he was hammered by the time he got around to playing The Wheel. He couldn't stop laughing :^))
Does anyone else remember 'We've Gotta Get You A Woman' released on Ampex Records, the single was attributed to what I thought was a band, 'RUNT'? Flip-side was the 'Laura' medley!
I've always thought about how AWESOME it would be to hear him do the entire "Ballad" recording live, in which he'd switch back and forth from guitar to piano.....one can dream, right?!
i have to admit this one was never my fave on ballad but just seeing him do this live has converted me and i cant get it out of my head and rotation on ipod-thanks!
Wonderful. One of my faves from 'Ballad'. I've read about this show. He's not noticably drunk, just seems to be in an extra good mood. Great performance. Thanks again RundgrenFan.
I have seen Todd so many times and I saw this show not the very same one but the same tour in the round at West Port in St. Louis. It was a one man show just him and a PC and me and my wife of that time in the front row. He made the very same anouncment about Rino Records and all. What made the show sooooo neet was that he played things that I had never heard him do live. A very specal night. Hell you have made me miss my X!!!!
Wow Rundgrenfan, that made me a bit sad. Used to sit in my bedroom alone listening to this and getting way to deep at age 16. 'The days and the years will go streaking by...
Me too.....I always thought Todd was the total package. A great song writer , musician, and vocalists . Sometimes his lyrics were so deep ,But then he would do other stuff that would be so fun and crazy. You'ld have to be as mad as a hatter .....
Sorry just saw the San Rafael part. He used that same line in NY.

What an excellent, sweet version of The Ballad...
Reminds me of why I got into Todd back in '71.

Thanks rundgrenfan! Terrific! In 1987 that song was already an old hidden classic, and it still stands up today.
