  • Thanks for the tip about your use of semi-barre chords - I've learned a bunch of your tunes over the years but often had trouble replicating your sound in certain sections, so I think you just helped me fix that.

Now post video lessons for every song in your catalog, okay? Seriously. Please...?

  • what a fantastic voice

  • my kind of guitarist..

  • How come I can't stretch my fingers that far :(

Thanks for this video, and the ideas though:)

  • THere isn't a GLSs song I don't like. Most artists sound alot different when they sing outside their records, but I couldn't spot any differences in his voice!

  • Anyone know which Guitar Tony is using?

  • @cklaplante It kinda looks like a Gibson

  • I am a songwriter and I agree with you about the open barre chords, they're awesome.

    Thanks for sharing your ideas.

  • Thank you soo much Tony !! this is wonderous of you to do , much appreciated

  • haha you've gotta love this guy....

  • you are wonderful

  • Heard this again on BBC's Bob Harris. Love it!

  • Thanks Tony! Finding chords for songs can be so hard sometimes, mostly because bands don't like their tabs being on the internet etc, which is really silly, considering most people are just playing for themselves. Keep the great music coming, this last album was so good, my favorite so far! Your sound just keeps getting richer and more refined. Visit Yellowknife again some time, you guys would be very well received!!

  • This band is great. I like their mellow sound this guy has a good voice.

  • I think I am in love....

  • LOL me too..

  • Tony, did you grow up in Port Colborne? Wellington St.?

  • Great.

  • brilliant - wouldnt you guys consider also giving a banjo lesson !?? (preferable of I could be nothing!)

  • what model gibson are you playing? im in love with that tone. your a great songwriter by the way, ive really been enjoying your stuff.

  • I noticed he didn't use a pick, I agree with him, Using just your fingers to stum/pick gives the guitar more depth, not to mention you dont have to worry about loosing your picks ;)

  • I know exactly what he's talking about..have used the same concept in my own music. This band IS great! Nice slope shouldered Gibson

  • I can't tell you how important this band is to Canada! I'm looking forward to seeing Tony and his band at the Edmonton Folk Festival this summer. One comment I would like to pass along to Tony is the beauty of this song in open D tuning... I play the initial chord like an Emaj, then open. For the change, I use my thumb to cover the bottom four strings to get a really haunting sound. Excellent song!

  • Sorry, I mean on the 7th fret (for the Richie Havens-style thumb chord!)

  • Thanks a lot Tony ;)

As always, it is a so special song, the chords and the melody are captivating, it's beautiful! Thank you for learning it!

  • can u teach the song still

  • brilliant song, fantastic album!

  • bad ass song!

  • so far, this is my favorite song from the new album! and i love the ending with female vocals.. it is sooo nice! :D

  • Love this song already.. Tony Dekker seems like such a nice guy :-)

  • Effulgent...
