  • His hair is so cute

  • Thank you ,nice clip.

  • waaaaay easier to cut the patchpiece first, then hold it over th hole and draw around it. instead of measuring etc.

  • Drunk guy and he made 5 holes, demolished 2 doors, and ripped apart the kitchen. any videos for the other things?

  • @ASUstompn2012 Sorry to hear that! We do have videos on replacing appliances in the kitchen, if those will help you out any. As well as a bunch of quick tips to make the projects easier.

  • I love the intro, thats almost exactly what happend except that it was missing alcohol and a bit more temper but thanks for the slick trick and video!

  • That was like the smartest fix I have ever seen! Who would have thought of a piece of 1x1 behind the hole.. I salute you man!

  • Fixed my wall B) Thanks!!!

  • thanks, so much. For me it was due to my doorknob being slammed into the wall.

I thought it would be a lot more costly and harder to fix then this.

    easy tutorial great work!

    thanks

  • thank you!!!!!

this is so easy and so helpful!!!!

  • @blackbone330 complicated? are you an idiot? It gives you a step by step process. Wow! every time I come back to this video I'm more amazed each time by people's stupidity!

  • This is way too complicated, imma just stick to joint tape and joint compound

  • And here's how NOT to do a patch...

    watch?v=5zJmaAFRGuk&feature=channel_video_title

  • Yeah but when the wood goes behind the wall it Would hurt when u loose ur temper agin!!!

  • Did exactly like he suggested. Had everything including the first coat of joint compound applied in under 45 minutes. Will sand and apply a second coat in 24 hours. Just do as he says and its super easy! Have been putting this job off not having a clue how to fix. Glad I saw this video and knocked this job out quick!

  • @faucetGirl88. WellI was trying to be nice ,and you just could not stand it you wanted to fight. You like it like that I guess. I

  • @paintin4u100 You come on here as a bully trying to steal other peoples spotlight to say how awesome you are. And now you wanna cry when someone calls you on it. I'm sad for you:(

  • @paintin4u100 @faucetGirl88 Thank you again for you interest in our video. But please keep your comments to the video and not towards each other or we will be forced to delete your comments from now on. Thank you again. And have a happy New Year!

  • @faucetGirl88 . You are the troll! You have been just trying to get under my skin to get your rocks off! I am a professional and any other professional could tell by my techniques I mentioned that I know what I am talking about . So there! Are you happy I played along to your little game of cat and mouse ! By the way how old are you? Because you are acting out like a little prom queen trying to get attention or for your personal orgasm! Not sure yet

  • @paintin4u100 LOL. Absolutely priceless. I can tell you are a pro by your last comment. Oh sorry, that was sarcasm. Google it.

  • @faucetGirl88 You know u love me

  • @paintin4u100 So I guess you are finally admitting you know nothing about drywall and are here only to be a troll. I guess we have exceeded your mental capacity. Time for you to lay down before you hurt yourself. I'm glad you showed your true self, totally discrediting your previous statements. Now everyone knows you're full of crap like the sham wow guy.

  • @faucetGirl88 ........LOL You admitted I was clever LOL......LOL....LOL

  • @paintin4u100 Baby want his bottle:(

  • this is the 3rd video that ive watched regarding this topic..using screws for the back support seem more sturdy than using some king of adhesives....nice video

  • Thanks. Helpful.

  • @faucetGirl88 Sounds like to me that you are the one insecure and allways have to get the last word in. Tell your husband that you need your faucet unclogged LOL. ooooooooh yeeeeeaaa!

  • @paintin4u100 I see what you did there! Clever. Must have struck a nerve then didn't I. You say I need the last word but yet you still type. Watch out next you'll be throwing a tantrum, and the teacher will have to put you down for a nap. @AGUYNAMEAL you must be right about this child. Although you at least have to be of age to get your contractors license. And as you can see by his comments thats not the case. Just another 15 year old hiding from the sun in his mom's basement. Typical.

  • @fauetGirl88 & BuildDotCom . I am keeping it civilized build. and to u faucet I dont have to expain my self to you but i will this time lol. The reason I like watching the videos to see if they are full of crap like the sham wow guy!

  • hahahha....paintin4u100 - you obviously are not a good contractor by looking at your account feed...apparently you have enough time to peruse around how to videos and not have work....oh wait...i'm sorry....it's the "holidays"... every contractor's shitty excuse for why they dont have work. Happy New Year! :)

  • @faucetGirl88 Pay close attention to his vidieo. Its like a info mercial and only shows parts of the steps. I probally should not have said the whole "your not a proffesional thing " . I was just pissed about other stuff and was taking it online.lol So I am sorry for that part. But I am a painting and drywall contractor and can tell you some do's and don'ts that will help .

  • @paintin4u100 If you are a pro then why are you watching how to videos? Other than to make yourself feel more important by saying how good you are. If you are a pro your work speaks for itself. Your comments make you sound insecure. If you truly know what you are talking about why not make your own videos instead of taking the effort to post negative comments. The video looks quite effective, and it worked just fine for me.

  • @FaucetGirl88 I would like to thank you for your comments, but please keep them civil so we won't be forced to delete them.

  • @paintin4u100 I would like to thank you for your comments, but please keep them civil so we won't be forced to delete them.

  • @faucet88 Plus the home improvement stores also sell metal patches ,but the way I described is quick and easy verses doing all that squaring off and measuring as described in the video. Also mixing quick set in a little bucket as he did is a fail big time . you will have lumps all over the place. Mix a small amount in a mud pan adding water and in a stirring motion with a mud knife.

  • @paintin4u100 I didn't see any lumps in his mix. He seems to do just fine without being condescending. Instead of being so negative, If you know so much why don't you just make your own video instead of trolling others to make you feel superior. Like BuildDotCom said there are different ways to do a job.

  • @faucetGirl88 . the drywall is not secured to the wood the wood is secured to the drywall just giving a backing to mud over the wood is not tied to a stud! The reason I posted is to keep people from thinking one coat is going to make it look like the hole was never there! It has to have at least 2 ! If you are going to show people how to do it show them the right and quickest sollution!

  • I could have fixed a hole that size with mesh tape alone with 20 min mud. (NO DRYWALL) and it would hvae been just as strong, or a california patch without using any wood just the paper around the drywall piece to secure it. being the paper goes out farther than the hole. Plus to get a slick finish you need to put more than one coat .the second coat or 3 coats keeps from alot of un nesaccary sanding . also u have to wet sand quick set mud to keep from digging it out! Your not a proffesional!!

  • @paintin4u100 Thank you for your opinion. Its always good to know there are always different ways to get the job done.

  • @paintin4u100 How in the hell can you say mesh tape would be as strong as a wood backer. Sounds like you been eating lead paint. And at no point does the guy say he's a professional, he's just showing DIY people a quick way to fix a problem. If you're a pro like you elude, why are you watching videos teaching you how to do it. Troll!

  • I was going to pay someone to fix the hole in my dry wall but now that I see this video fuck that! I ll go to home depot, buy the materials and do it myself.... thanks for posting this!

  • Very good instruction. Well done!

  • Wow! so many people are here for the same reason.. Hitting their walls! Go to anger management people! Just kidding. I'm here for the same reason too... Dry wall is too weak.

  • Great

  • Great video, good job!

  • I need the ghetto version of this...

  • @tturner2099 First blame dis shit on the government. yo baby mamma. or da man. Then get tow back on a 4D an a fat ass blunt. Finally cover dat shit with a 2pac poster ya got down at da swap meet. Peace!

  • i lost my temper, now im here, i would put a picture over it like everyone, but its to low

  • Wow these houses are really bad quality... and people laugh at chinese products... I have a house made out of bricks... I can hit my walls all day :)

  • Lol I made a hole in the wall at school and I have to fix it tomorrow

  • Showing my hubby this video! We just bought a house with a hole in the dry wall.

  • Damn it. I kicked 2 holes in the wall. I cant do all of this without my parents finding out :(

  • @MariahsBeauty The Experts say to hide the imperfection, Put a dresser in front of it lol

  • @roxydog2004 hahaha. OR maybe you can come to my house and fix it :)

  • @MariahsBeauty Ask This Old House

  • i made a big hole :(:( sad

  • you suck!

  • How much will all this cost

  • @gonzalez1946

Here are some of the estimated costs If you don't already have some of the items laying around. Also you'll will be able to fix multiple holes once you have these items on hand.

    2x2 Section of drywall=$4.00

    Drywall Knife=$2.00

    1qt Joint Compound=$3.00

    lumber=$3.00

    Sandpaper=$1.00

  • Was that board secured by anything other than the 3 screws? It looked like you just cut the board to maybe the length from the floor to a little taller than the to top of the hole. So if the board was secured somewhere else, how did you secure it. I saw the tape and quick set also helped secure the hole as well. Thanks

  • @ableyva12 The board is only several inches wider than the hole. And then is secured by the three screws. It doesn't touch anywhere else.

  • really helpful thanks

  • Wow now I can punch my walls more often. Sweet!

  • just put a wall decoration over it and you are good to go .. or move your furniture in front of it to block it :D :D :D

  • It's easier to cut out the piece of drywall first and use it to mark the wall, producing an exact match. Also, I'm finding that sour cream consistency is easier to feather out (taper).

  • @calism23 Great tip!

  • is drywall the same as sheet rock? if not can you get small pieces of drywall from a store or do you have a get a big sheet?

  • @spartanxyz1 Yes, Sheetrock is the brand name of a drywall. It is also known as plasterboard, wallboard or gypsum board. Most DIY stores will have small pieces for sale, just be sure to get the same thickness.

  • lol, i love the mustache on the guy in the beginning! xD

  • I live in a trailor an it has dry wall plus a vinal wall cover over an see in my bathroom my dog chewed right next to the bath tub a 8 inch long by 4 inch tall hole. i need to know what i need to fix it to make it look decent.

  • @heart79605 If you can match the material you could attempt a patch. But it usually won't look that nice. To make it look good we recommend replacing the whole sheet.

  • Much better than the last video I watched. They just used a large tape patch going over it with mud. All I could think about was that gaping weak spot in the wall that someone is going to find someday when they try to install something or run into it with furniture.

  • this is a really good video !!! TY

  • In the "you will need" section you mention taping knives and mesh tape - but you don't use any tape on the joins! How long does a join have to be before you need to tape it?

  • @checkboard By the book when dealing with drywall you should always use tape for longevity. Be it mesh or the paper kind. As time goes by the wall shifts with temperature fluctuations and could lead to cracking. In this case we chose to show it without because in our experience the way this patch is mounted it doesn't show cracks, and is really easy. But in the end its your home so you make the call.

  • yup this is how i do it.

  • Thank you....!

  • How much this kind of work would cost? I made a hole in the dry wall of my friend (10x10"), and want just to find some handy man who can repair it, and don't want to be ripped off. I'm not handy man at all, and not sure if buying a all tools to fix it will cost more then paying for a job.

  • Cool workaround with the piece of wood

  • this helped me out soooooo much lol i cut a big hole in my wall to put a wall safe in my closet and i did not like the safe so i had tocut out some extra sheetrock and i did the thing that your dad told u too do with the wood that is amazing little tip really it works soo nice i am happy.thank u for the help buddy :)

  • @joseph10704 Happy to help!

  • @BuildDotCom thank u bro it was a fun time i had right now i am leting the stufff stick on the wall and leting it settel for like 24 hours i will come back tomorrrow and then sand everything down and then paint it all up :)

  • Thank you it was informative and easy to follow.

  • I have seen some videos on how to repair dry walls and all of them seem to use all those fancy clips to hold the patch. I really like how you used a piece of wood instead of anything fancy.

  • Thanks @chuprichachi1, sometimes the old-school tips and tricks are the easiest and cheapest solutions to common problems. We appreciate you letting us know that you liked the video!
