I've got to join in. Jack Daly was my grandfather(we are his three grandchildren) and I loved him very much. It's so lovely that other people are enjoying listening to him now. Our mother would be so happy and so proud.
Have admired your grandfather's voice since the 1930's and had a collection of his records. My poor granny had to put up with my playing them over and over again on her gramophone. Have you any photos of him? Would love to know what he looked like.
Jack Daly was my grandfather too. He died when I was really young, but was still a huge part of my life because everyone - like my brother mjburn, below - loved him so and spoke of him constantly. It's amazing to hear him singing to me through the pc like this!
You must be very proud to have had such a grandfather. Do you have any pictures of him? I have tried in vain for Many Years to find footage of him. I'm trying to download the scenes of him of him from the Formby Film. He looks very young in this film, but he has the voice of a much older man. Please let me know if you have any pics of him, many thanks Brian Ahearne (gramophoneman).

Hi there - a couple of questions from New Zealand:
1. Does anyone know the Jack Daly song that contains the words 'it's over the hill I am going' and 'the big white house over the hill' ???
(I'd love to be able to hear it again after 60+ years)
2. Are any of his songs available to purchase on CDs ?

This is a very beautiful piece of music.
It's truly underappreciated; it really deserves more views than this.
5/5 stars.

@mbsbpb1 what part of Ireland did your grandfather come from? His voice sounds so like my late husband's. He came from Kilkenny.

This is one of the few records I have of Jack Daly. And it is probably one of the best.
