  • WOW, and you don't make a sequal to this video of welker's miss!?!?!

  • Samuel did not drop an easy interception-- he jumped, and the ball went off his fingertips-- it was too high for him to intercept. Amazing all the people that equate this with a defender standing on the ground and dropping a ball right in his bread-basket. Equivalent for Buckner would be if he had to dive to his right-- and the ball deflected off his glove. Get over it Patriot fans-- the Giants were the better team, twice. (3 times if you count victory in Foxboro earlier this season.)

  • 2 routine catches - Samuel that year...and Welker this year: And that's 5 SuperBowls in 10 years for the Patriots (mainly Brady & Belichick) Unbelievable.

  • that ball was out of his reach. it bounced off his fingertips

  • Sometimes I think destiny doesn't want my Patriots to make history!! 2 times and no go very frustrating!!!! They made the giants look good twice now and the sad thing everyone knows the Patriots should have won both SB 42 and 46 ;(

  • hmm It's hard to say, maybe It was a little to high but not impossible to come down with. It would have been an amaizng play If he made It, and he didn't and In the SB sometimes you have to make plays like that If you want to lift the trophie after the game ends.

  • The ball was 4 feet above his head. give him a break.

  • Until I saw this I never thought it was high, in real time it looked like a straight off drop, MUCH worse than Bill Buckner.

Now sure it was a little high but come on, he had his hands on, he certainly thought he should have caught it.

Put this same song to a Wes Welker video! That was even worse!

  • for fucks sake the guy is paid 10 million bucks a year to be A PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE. No matter how you chumps sugar coat it, it wasn't a difficult grab for a pro and it's a terrible miss. Was it the sole reason they lost? No, But hell, it is what it is - he makes that int and the Pats are perfect.

  • @smooveXXX totally agree. And eli is crowned golden boy even though I don't think he deserves it.

  • @TheMontageMasters Oh he definitely deserved. ELI, not anyone else, is the reason the Giants came remotely close to the playoffs.

  • You can't "drop" something that was never in your hands! It glanced off his fingertips when he was already at maximum elevation - a WR would have difficulty making that catch let alone a DB!

  • You realize Asante had to jump for that and CBs aren't obligated to make interceptions. The defense as a whole is at fault for a DRIVE, that same defense could have ended this game on downs. Saying Asante's only at fault is stupid.

  • People talk about it like it landed in his chest. It was past his outstretched hands.

  • The ball was to high and his feet would have landed out of bounds if he did catch it. He is a great player and the interception was not possible.

  • it wasn't a dropped int its more of an almost int because if you expect any db to catch that then your on crack, ill tell you who SHOULD be the buckner of that game is rodney harison all he needed to do on that tyree catch was tap the ball and it would have fallen out of his hands.

  • this time will be diferent the patriots will be champions

  • This is the first time ive watched this since the actual super bowl. I agree, ball was actually too high, so I understand how Samuel did not catch it.

  • he did cost us a perfect season. but no one remembers this like everyone remembers buckner. the only thing ppl remember bout that game is tyrees catch, and plaxico's winning TD. but you gotta blame the o line for lettin brady get hit as much as he did and the offense itself for only puttin up 14 points the whole game. we averaged 38 points a game that year all for nothin in the end

  • Unfortunately, if you look at how high and far he had to jump, you would realize that it was HUMANLY IMPOSSIBLE for him to NOT land out of bounds EVEN if he secured the interception.

  • who are the idiots that actually put Samuel's drop anywhere near the category of Buckner's gaffe?? Samuel's drop shouldn't even be considered a big deal. It was a tough play. Somebody is doing some serious reaching trying to make this play out to be the reason the Patriots lost. Not even close. And I don't even like Samuel. I just have a high sports IQ unlike anyone who thinks this play is a big deal.

  • @Rumplemenz Not at all. Samuel catches that, game over. Patriots win.

  • Last time I remember Buckner didn't leave his feet and display a 36" vertical leap lol

  • lol bill buckner??? if he caught it that would would have been one of the greatest catches by a corner all time....he couldnt get more than his fingertips on it how is he supposed to catch it?

  • Eli clutch Manning is what cost the Patriots there perfect season.

  • butterfingers!

  • OK the ball was way hit off his fingertips which means it was TOO HIGH for him to catch and if he did he probably wuld have stepped out of bounds.. and if the patriots were undefeated and just that good they should have been able to stop the giants after that... Period. its not asante's fault that the patriots lost...

  • @jhdh0723 You're right, it's the Giants fault.

  • @jhdh0723 Those are the kinds of plays a team MUST make to win a Super Bowl. Didn't David Tyree make an "impossible" catch on a ball that was thrown "too high" right after this? That's why the Giants were better. The Patriots made plays like that the whole season in close games and though the loss wasn't completely Asante's fault, he missed an opportunity to make a play and his reaction showed it.

  • @jhdh0723 no it doesn't mean it was too high. it means he closed his hands too early. it bounced off his figertips because it was arching down into his hands but he clapped his hands together and it hit his figertips

  • @jhdh0723 He should've been crowned mvp for the giants though. It was an easy catch for him, and could've easily landed in bounds.

  • Even if he caught it, his momentum would have forced him out of bounds.

  • WTF do you mean fake? U clearly didnt watch watch Super Bowl 42 then assclown

  • thats weird, i dont remember this at all. FAKE.

  • @OleScrubby it isnt fake dumbass

  • @portugalrocks9 lol its just a joke dude. chill out

  • @OleScrubby nah how about you chill with dat

  • Excuse that, over 40 INTs.

  • This headline is, for lack of a better word, trolltastic. If Samuel was a receiver, people would be jumping Eli's case about how uncatchable that throw was. That guy has over 50 INTs in his NFL career - if he couldn't get that ball, then no DB - short of Darrelle Revis holding a fishing net - would get it either. Samuel's effort to reach the ball is dwarfed only by people reaching desperately to scapegoat him. This is another thing that Youtube is for - debunking myths w/ visual evidence.

  • The guy jumps two feet in the air, barely gets fingertips on the ball and then lands out of bounds anyway. How is that even close to a soft ground ball that rolled between Buckner's legs? It's not. Anyone who thinks that was some gimme interception is out of their mind.

  • that was not a drop it was off the tip of his fingers..in most cases i say if you can touch it, you can catch it..but not this time

  • No player would be able to catch that pass unless they were tall enough to get it. Sam wasn't tall enough to get that hard fast ball folks.

  • @MCAmbitious He could have cought it... It went right through his hands obviously he could have caught that ball and the Giants wouldn't have lucked out. God was on Elis side that day.

  • @TheXXLethal You mean it went right through his fingertips, not his hands. I'm sorry but that ball was going real fast and was too high for Sam to get it.

  • @MCAmbitious He could of caught it. It went through his hands he could of caught that ball. Im not gonna get into it though so pleast just keep your opinion to yourself becuase I couldn't give a fuck what your theory or opinion is.

  • @TheXXLethal No he couldn't and it went through his fingers barely. Oh and you came to me with your opinion that shows not facts so you should have kept your thoery to yourself.

  • @MCAmbitious He could have caught it. Go fuck your mother asshole.

  • @TheXXLethal No he couldn't have caught it so go and fuck your grandmother bitch.

  • @TheXXLethal Oh and suck your your fathers dick and lick his balls too while you are at it your piece of shit.

  • @MCAmbitious Hahaha sorry bro didn't mean to offend you.

  • @TheXXLethal I'm sorry to.

  • @MCAmbitious It's ok. :)

  • @TheXXLethal dude, the ball went through his fingertips...with the ball going that fast you cant catch it if you cant get more than half of an inch of your hand on it

  • @BigBluenym Your name is BigBlue dude just stop I commented like last month get over it the Giants got lucky as fuck.

  • @TheXXLethal BigBlue is a name for the giants dumbass..better than Lethal, you were obviously trying to sound tough...and they didnt get lucky you dont know what you are talking about

  • @BigBluenym Haha I was trying to sound tough that's a laugh. Your gonna temm me Tyree's catch and the dropped pick wasn't luck? Your an idiot.

  • @TheXXLethal it wasnt a dropped pick...and you ever played football you would know that even receivers like larry fitzgerald would have a tough time catching if it was that far over their head..and tyrees play took alot of strength, especially in the arms...and he was the giants strongest receiver...its called hand eye coordination, strength, and timing.....your just some jealous fan

  • @BigBluenym How am I jealous Tom Brady has how many rings and Eli has one that he barely got? He nearly threw a pick ain the fourth quarter that Asante could of picked and ended the game? O yea and the Eli threw a god awful pass that Tyree caught with 100% luck. Have funn getting whooped by the Niner come sunday becuase they aren't lucking out again.

  • @TheXXLethal stop complaining. its been 5 years and ur still complaining about this game

  • @Trigoel7 Im having a conversation with someone about it. Mind your own buisness you little fucktard.

  • @TheXXLethal have fun watching eli win another super bowl, and you are seriously saying that it was a bad throw...it wasnt a tight spiral but thats because he had to get away from the defenders and quickly throw it down the field, in the prefect spot where only tyree could catch it, nobody else

  • @BigBluenym On his helmet. Barely caught it. Trust me the Niners will win Sunday. Im not saying Eli won't win another Super Bowl but not this year.

  • @TheXXLethal ok ill trust u

  • The patriots loss because they couldn't contain the Giants pass rush, Patriot fans are retarded if they believe this is why they lost.

    GO GIANTS BITCH!!!

  • @Boog2200 Haha, GO BIG BLUE! Brady was sacked 5 times that game (I think. Correct me if I'm wrong). The Giants pass rush and defense were good. Now if they can do it again this year... another magical run to the Super Bowl? New York Giants vs Green Bays Packers NFC Title game? :P

  • Can't believe he blew it, and then he was asking all that money from Bill ?

  • One of the more overrated stiffs in the game today.

  • 1 play doesn't ever sum up the rest of a game or series... That made it 3rd and 5... where was your defense there to stop the Giants when they also had no timeouts...The fact that you're trying to put blame on a single player for an entire team is pathetic and hilarious... dumbass

  • Wait ... What happens after that ;) ?

  • Cant play the what if game. Things happen like this in every other game. The Patriots got beat. 18-1 Let it go.

  • @Pbinder1981 by a fluke play

  • @gemi14 it wasnt a fluke play receptions are dropped every game, interceptions every other game, quarterbacks break tackles, receivers catch passes. The Giants were the better team that day. They beat the greatest offense of all time with their defense. Thats the reality.

  • Yet Asante's 1 of da best CB, retard!

  • tom brady is the best quarterback i have seen when it was do or die he got it done as being remembered who cares

  • as a pats fan the only problem i had was the non call on the giants for holding on the tyree catch pats deserved a better fate than a fluke play to beat them

  • The Patriots played a great game that day. The Giants just played a better one.

  • wouldn't of stayed in bounds anyway

  • jaredthomas, I'm a Broncos fan. I hate the Patriots. But you are such an incredible faggot saying "IS DIS DA NEXT BILL BUCKNER??". I hope you die in the next few days.

  • it wasnt that close, it bounced off the very tips of his fingers, its not like it bounced off his hands, now that would be fail

  • GOD DAMNIT I HAVE TO SIT IN A FETAL POSITION FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT

  • Everytime I watch this, I just sit there creepily and smile.

  • seriously that was a HARD catch to make. couple the fact that asante samuel is 5 10 with the fact that that ball was thrown SUPER high, im sure none of you would caught that you dumb hypocrits. get off asante's back, and give him some respect. hes one of the cornerbacks today.

  • I thought the same... goin' thru Philly pics - his poster's now in a cheese steak shack, right next to the Broadway Bullies. Looking at this, though, it wasn't in his numbers as I remembered it. If he pulled that down, THAT would've been the miracle catch. Oh, well.

  • Asante Samuel cost the Pats a perfect season. Period.

  • @MetalOnPiano How many points did the Pats score again? 14? The Giants D-line was the reason the Pats lost. Brady can't win a game when he's on his back. Period.

  • @MetalOnPiano no, the whole team did, we played a well game but giants in the end were better

  • @MetalOnPiano - please tell me your being sarcastic

  • @MetalOnPiano One player doesn't make a team lose. Obviously you wouldn't know that cause you haven't played on a football team that had HEART.

  • ASANTE SAMUEL IS THE BIGGEST BITCH IN FOOTBALL HISTORY

  • one of the most overrated players in the nfl today

  • Thank you Patriots for Asante.( =

  • oh my god people it fucking happens guys drop picks all the time he was up too early so what get over it people can you fans be satisfied with three rings?

    fucking a

  • @markymarkbb no real fan is ever satisfied

  • Thumbs up if You wanna KILL HIM !!!

  • @ABOGADO2312 that sounds a little rude

  • I have never and will never rewatch that fuckin game ever again. Fuck you asante

  • I dont think his foot was in bounds even if he made the catch. Is there a photo or video of his feet ?

  • Comment removed

  • That's an easy play? LOL...I would love to see any of you guys make this play.

  • @dnastee14 shut the fuck up, we arent football players you dumb faggot. I hate when people like you try to use that argument.

Me - "Ryan Leaf sucks ass."

You - "Id like to see you try to play QB in the NFL!"

Me - "Its not my profession you small dicked piece of shit, Ryan leaf sucks ass."

  • Whoever says that wasn't a drop is in COMPLETE denial.

  • @KingofSpades209 It really wasent because the ball was never in his hands. The ball bounced off his fingertip.

  • 1. Terrible, terrible song you decided to use.

    2. It wasn't a routine play at all. So Buckner comparisons are idiotic.

    3. Why would there be a curse with this? There was no curse of Buckner. Dumbest video ever.

  • people make it seem like the ball fell right in his hands. it was way 2 high and off his fingertips. i dont know if i consider that a drop. just another example of wanting to blame someone

  • I hate the Patriots and loved the way this game ended, but blaming Samuel for the loss cuz of THIS? That pass is WAY high. Idk how he could've come down with that.

  • I dont think he would have come down in bounds anyway

  • This may have been one of the worst moments of my life. I still cringe and turn away to the sight of this.

  • @miggy45 co-sign. Along with Moss dropping Brady's 60 yard bomb is this is a disgrace.

  • If dbacks could catch they'd be wideouts no respect lost for Asante

  • @mythdoctor Not true because Dbacks are typically smaller than wideouts and many dbacks can catch quiet well. But It's not his fault entirely.

  • Asante jumps and the ball only hit the tip of his hands, then he was going to step out of bounds anyway. Face it, the Giants won because their D-line outplayed the Patriots O-line

  • @dramzv And because nobody could tackle Eli for some odd reason.

  • I thought seymour got held in that sack, but the games over, and that was a tough catch, if he only got the timing right...

But nobody can deny that fate was on the giants side after that Tyree catch.

  • we all know what happens after that, a lucky ass catch while richard seymour is illegally choked. BS

  • @earthpart3 you should search "snowjob" sir

  • WTF! That WAS ACTUALLY A TOUGH GRAB TO CATCH! oh well the 1 superbowl game the patriots decide to not cheat and this is what happens....they LOSE! Next time record signals and play the unfair way

  • @reblazelol he actually has 54!! rediculous right?

  • Asante will always have eli's number

  • @tardlist lmao Asante sucks? That's why he has 40 something interceptions, 46 I believe? Considered one of the best ball hawks in the game behind Ed reed shut the hell up kid. You don't even know what you're talking about.

  • Not to mention when the Pats got the ball back with 30 seconds left and Randy Moss was mugged by the Giants safetys with a Tom Brady pass within his reach. No call

  • @robdavewal

like a bomb in the closing seconds of a superbowl is ever going to be called. Your team lost, get over it.

  • perfection saved by eli the saviour! asante blows. that's why he is in philly

  • All i know is that this man has a couple rings......and thats all i need to know

  • Or, maybe instead of blaming him for it, the offense could have actually done something productive. You can't expect him to do everything.

  • No Hands

  • The pass was too high for him to catch itl. What are you guys are looking at?

  • @MCAmbitious he leaped up their just went through his hands

  • @tophower33 No he did not. The ball was over his head and out of his hands reach.

  • Montana >Brady. Nothing wrong with being #2.

  • you guys are stupid it was way out of his grasp

  • If he would have caught that, the Patriots would have been the greatest team ever and Brady would have been considered, probably the best. But nope lol.

  • @soadpwnsyou Brady is still considered one of the best XD

  • @Buckleofbelt

Yeah I know one of them. I meant THE BEST.

  • I just read an article on ESPN referencing this "missed" interception. Gimme a break - that was far from a "gimme" pick. He jumped about as high as he can go, timed it pretty well, and it still hit the top of his fingers. That's not really a botched play...just a ball a bit out of his reach.

  • It's not like that was an easy catch even for a reciever....

  • i wouldn't blame him for that, it would've been very difficult for him to catch it and come down in bounds

  • Asante was and IS an Asasshole. He's a no-class show off. Like when he strutted his stuff in front of the Raven's coach in 2007 when he ran out of bounds and the Ravens coach blew him a kiss. The problem Asante? You were playing for the 1st place Patriots and were LOSING to the RAVENS of all teams! You "mailed it in" for the last 4 games of the season. I'm a PATs fan, but you did NOT deserve to win that year. The PATS win this year WITHOUT Asante. He'll always be a loser! I'm glad he's gone!

  • @BigChiefLtd1 actually buddy asante samuel lays pretty low in the media, and btw that was RODNEY HARRISON that got up in the coaches face.. doesn't matter anymore anyway hes on a better team now, tom brady is your entire team thats not something to be proud of, so honestly get off the fuckin band wagon PATS ARE OUT NOW, to the jets none the less, so take a seat man, and learn your facts.. oh yeah and that was a very difficult catch to make whoever made this vid

  • @HAREWOODKID Thanks for the correction on Harrison. As to Brady being the entire team, I doubt that. Sure he's the "big cheese" but if he doesn't have a lot of talent protecting him on offense, he's just another target.

As to Sunday's game, you're right. The Pats played like crap. Once again, I think they think they had it sewn up and didn't have to take NY Serious. This is the same mistake they made a couple years ago at the Superbowl and it bit them then too. All respect due to the Jets.

  • @BigChiefLtd1 Yeah if they took every game seriously they be so much better, like look who they lost to in the regular season, browns ? really haha, anyway im a rams fan so i should be critiquing anything bro

  • thumbs up if u wana cry

  • @SWATAIR no i dont. 14-2 pats are gonna win this year's superbowl...

  • Eli Manning is horrible...just horrible

  • @SD1Chargers LOL i see we have a jealous chargers fan. Talk shit when rivers gets a ring, but you have to get to the playoffs first, FAGGOT. What a great trade that was for the giants

  • I could see if the ball was thrown right to him and he dropped it, but the ball was too high. He had to leap and it only hit the top of a few of his fingertips, hardly a given, and furthermore, he appeared to have come down partially out of bounds. It's a stretch calling that a choke. The bigger choke is the most prolific offense in NFL history that hadn't scored less than 20 points in any game that season being held to 14 points and 2 red zone trips in the Superbowl!

  • broken heart :(

  • wow asante

  • LISTEN theres no way he catches that and comes down IN BOUNDS look at were his feet were when he touched the ball.

  • You're biggest strength is catching interceptions! Do it when a perfect record is on the line!

  • @nbaallstar1351 Your biggest strength is stupidity. Don't fail to use it when typing comments.

  • The only reason this isn't on the same level as Buckner is because of the unbelievable Tyree catch/play. If the Giants had scored a TD with a less spectacular play on the drive then this replaces Buckner's E. Like Buckner, had Samuel made the play, it's game over. That the Sox had to lose another game for the series makes Samuel's choke much more crucial.

And yes it's a choke. Forget the jump, fingertip etc, this guy makes spectacular int's look routine. Samuel choked.

  • hrjryjsktuskutiu8iky t68i578

  • i shitted my pants when i thought he intercepted it.....butHE DIDNT.... GO GIANTS

  • He dropped the ball. It cost them the game.

As for chickendaveus, no, he shouldn't have been ruled in the grasp.

It was the biggest upset in the history of upsets.

  • @houseman72 theres no way he would come down in bounds

  • Nah he wouldn't have come down in bounds. Plus that ball was high. It bounced off his fingertips when he reached as high as he could at the highest point of his jump and it was still literally 2 inches too high.

The play from this Super Bowl that was the biggest what if moment was when Brady launched one literally 67 yards in the air to Moss AFTER they were down 17-14, and if he would have thrown the ball 70, Moss would have caught it in stride for 6 with less than 10 seconds left.

  • @PIAF22 Simmons?

  • well give us back samuel we pats need him back

  • No way he catches that and comes down inbounds...no way. Just stop it already Patriot fans. He couldn't have made that catch if he had 100 tries at it. It was too high for him to jump, catch, posses, and come down inbounds.

  • @WhiteDudeWithAnAfro he made catchs like that before he should have made the catch PERIOD

  • he could have made the catch, but goddamn dont blame him. the giants beat us fair and square. i took this loss harder then anyone but dont try to make asante the scapegoat

  • We could of had it. I don't play Asante but I speak for all TRUE Patriots fans but if he makes that play, we're forever the Greatest Team of All Time. It hurts so much, knowing how close we were ='/

  • he had 2 chances to get an interception and dropped both

  • It's hilarious that there is 4 qtrs played and Asante misses a chance at an INT on a high pass (on one play) and the Pats lost because of him? GTFOH with that bullshit son. People are always looking for someone to put the blame on.

  • OMG.

Ball should have been caught, he stood there after the play with his hands on his head. He knew he should've had it. It DID cost them the game, with 1:20 left it's all over at that point. He landed in bounds so WTF would you question if he'd have landed in bounds if he had caught it??

  • Buckner? Not hardly. That wasn't exactly an "easy play." Buckner had a ground ball right to him. That was a little different than a ball well over Samuel's head. Sure he jumped high enough to get it but missing that catch is nowhere near the level of bone headeness that Buckner was. Near interceptions like this happen all the time, and there are many players you could point to on that last drive. If Seymour and Thomas sacked Eli, there would hav been no Tyree helmet catch.
