Well it wasn't just Robert, although he did look like he was taking it the worst.

Whenever Siouxsie and the Banshees were on TotP they'd mime really bad purposely.

You can see Siouxsie in this video as well as other TotP videos constantly taking the mic away from her mouth while she's still "singing".
