It was tricked gum that Pee Wee bought at Mario's Magic Shop. (I guess the father was angry that Pee Wee tricked him which is why he screamed).

Garlic flavored trick gum does still exist at magic & novelty shops. I've never tried it but I'd imagine that it tastes like raw garlic. Not very pleasant if you are expecting fruit. Haha.

One of the best moments in the film, if not the best! The slow motion part at the end serves to emphasize this fact! This film, and especially this scene, NEVER fails to crack me up! It's LMAO everytime I view it! Shame that Paul Reubens aka Pee Wee Herman hit a negative point in his career and never really bounced back from it. His morning kids show is a stellar classic too! Kudos to sirsuggs for this upload!
