  • OH SHIT, JOSH'S GUITAR SEEMS TO BLOW THE WHOLE WORLD GUYS

  • Nick comes in with the "Bedooop!" vocal at the start. love this version. One of the first live airings back whilst touring Rated R.

  • wow.... earliest version of this song out there!

  • the best distorsion for this song is in this version

  • who are the members in this vid? apart from josh and nick of course ;)

  • @ThePatrickshumack The trummer is gene trautman!

  • looks like a roy lichtestein's work. such a quality cant be forgotten

  • songs for the deaf ??

  • this song is so much better without the keys imo...the heaviness is soooo tits

    also, Josh has earrings hahaha

  • @jactosentalerant69 Aww that's weak bro the keys are amazing. They give it a much more sexy feeling. I mean am I the only person who gets off every time I watch the music video...?

  • @RushAnthem69 I mean the keys are great. they really are I just would be interested to hear a remastering with more geetar but still some keys. Favorite Video ever

  • this song is so much better without the keys imo...the heaviness is soooo tits

  • Try wiki qotsa contributors page, damn youtube won't let me post a link!

  • @zephranna01 No, Alfredo Hernandez was the original drummer.

  • @zephranna01 not sure what you're getting at mate ....

  • @bladderpains You should see them In 98 man the crowd was even worse. That said they look alot more confident there, Not that Queens are never confident In what they do but There they are ontop of their game.

  • Epic that Trautmann, actually wrote the epic drum part, not Grohl. Every single member of QOTSA past and present has been epic though

  • Troy and Joey make a substantial difference to this band. Even Fertita to be honest. Troy is immense, so solid live. Love how they've evolved. Best band on the planet by some distance.

  • Holy shit, this is the rawest version of this song ive ever heard...fantastic mix

  • I really wish I could find a video of the lost art of keeping a secret from this festival : /

  • can't believe muse rocked this same stage before they were famous. two epic bands

  • QOTSA's golden age

  • @inaians There is no such thing as a "golden" age of Queens' there are just different phases, Queens' is like an epic voyage, it encompasses long periods of time, regardless of what part of the story you're on you don't want it to end.

  • Who is that other guitarist?

  • @RushAnthem69 brendon mcnichol

  • underrated drummer, better than douche grohl, and lets no talk about joey castillo

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre What in the world makes you say that? It's pretty easy to hear that the drums on this performance aren't all that tight.

  • 2:52 little mistake, but i still love you Qotsa

  • I guess this song is before Songs for the Deaf?

  • Ha, just realised ODIFH posted this. Yet another great video from him.

  • GENE TRAUTMANNNN FTW!

  • das gabs schon vor songs for the deaf?!

  • i like how they all look like pop art images

  • my god so much epic out of one band

  • i prefer this drummer than joey

  • @leviathon18

    Just fyi, it's gene trautmann

  • who is the guitarist with the sg?

  • @secretmurph Brendon McNichol? I'm not 100% sure.

  • Nice! Fuckin good lineup too.

  • Thank god you cant hear the second guitarist. he's terrible.

  • It's better with Joey.

  • that extra lead guitar part doesnt sound as good as the sftd version

  • voz de mierdA!!!! SERIA MEJOR CON UNA VOZ ADECUADA A LA DISTORCION

  • i fuckin love the ultra gps sound!

  • 1:50: hahaha....if i were a girl, i would be jealous of josh`s pretty earrings :-) fucking a!

  • The video with Grohl drumming and Troy replacing Brendan is better. Much more polished.

  • a aburrida audiencia

  • Best qotsa formation ever.....miss this times, when they had pure rock running on their vains...

  • Ultimate line-up was with Oliveri and Grohl. Not the same without Nik.

  • I love this song so much.

  • didn't qotsa write this song b4 SftD even came out

  • noooo, they just made it up on the spot

  • true story

  • Comment removed

  • All of the QOTA videos that have Gene Trautmann in them show that there's a mic near him, did he contribute any live backing vocals?

Also I'd love to hear the lead guitar part done on a violin.

  • @GenericInsect1979 the witamin string quartet did some tribute to qotsa, check it out

  • "troutman"? best full time qotsa drummer?definetly not! both grohl and castillo are better players and castillo has been a full time member. trautmann did create the parts for this and millionaire which are really fun to to play but he cant compete with he other two.

  • troutman is easily the best full time drummer qotsa has had.

  • Mexicola at big day out 2001 (i think its 2001...) and How to handle a rope from Over the Years and Through the Woods are the most awesome drum performances I've seen in Queens of the stone age, and both were troutman. However, Grohl is also a really great drummer and I think Joey shines more and more for every album.

  • Except that How To Handle A Rope wasn't on otyttw.

  • It is. It's in the bonus material. And it's awesome I tell you, awesome O_O

  • Oh well yeah I gotcha. I was thinking of the two shows they recorded specifically for the dvd

  • lol their drummer neds to get in shape

  • Oh my god, very hot gay earcleaps,

  • yea whats the deal with the earrings:P

    awesome song anyways..

  • only thing is that they are playin pretty slow, but besides that it wuz good

  • and to think this crowd had no idea this would become one of the greatest (or widely recognised) QotSA songs ever

  • that crowd is about as lively as my sex life

  • Classic

  • a can´t hear second guitar and josh looks like elvis! awsome. love them!

  • this performance (of my favorite song, no less) just BREATHES ENERGY!!!

  • dude, your breath smells like cock. don't be so gay.

  • wtf's ur problem, douchebag?

  • He likes kyuss better than QOTSA.. and you almost kissed josh homme's boots

  • i like how you said almost kiss josh homme's boots

  • Hold me

  • *HoLdS*,,,

  • awesome!!! is a classic!!

people this is my 2 favorite line up of qotsa

for me i choose gene over joey. and brendan is good too!!!

  • true, true :) but i would add troy over brendan

  • rokwort, when is out the new album of qotsa and your right!!

    troy over brendan

  • i dont know, i've heard that in march they want to go into studio, to do some new shit, personaly i cant wait becouse im not very into era vulgaris

  • This sounds better live than on CD. Fuckin eh! eh!?

  • my favourite version of this song..sooo much power from the start.. :O A-mayzing

  • I fucken love this version, it´s so raw.

  • Yea but speed could be too much sometimes, like when he plays song for the dead, he goes too fast and for me it changes the song completely. don't get me wrong, i love joey but he's not queens' best drummer. I believe Gene Trautmann was their greatest drummer. Listen to the song Rickshaw on Desert Sessions Vol. 5 &6 then you'll know why.

  • Really josh and mark are the only ones that you can say are queens of the stone age.....they have gone through a lot of different members...i honestly think it is great...it makes every album different....and they all seem to still kick ass.....Desert Sessions need to come back though......its a classic

  • Hopefully at the end of the month they'll get a new Desert Sessions done. it was meant to happen last year but it fell through which was a balls.

  • just goes to show what a difference a drummer can make....fortunately dave and joey got involved later on

  • actually gene was the one who wrote the drums on this song, he in my opinion is the best full time drummer qotsa has had

  • The drummer is Gene Trautmann. He played on the Rated R album. So this was the first time they played Go With The Flow?

  • so dave didn't make that beat...dang.

  • what? who cares, gene troutman is a fantastic drummer!

  • I could listen to QOTSA live forever. Breaking every 6 hours for reasons of sanitation and sustenance. Otherwise, constant live entertainment from QOTSA would be paradise

  • Didn't Trent Reznor play in the band for a while too?

  • Heavier than the version on Deaf. Love Diamond Dave Catching playing the lead.

  • that's Brendon Mcnichol playing the lead

  • is this the old lineup before song for the deaf? im sorry im a new fan

  • This is the "Rated R" lineup, for want of a better description. The lineup has always changed with each album, the only constant member is Josh Homme.

  • @OFIDH i hope that they stick whit era vulgaris lineup in the future

  • @ReBeLhIpI I kinda like all the changes. I love the vulgaris lineup, but it would be interesting to see who would join the band next. would prolly be someone to replace dean

  • @ReBeLhIpI true! especially when dean joined eagles of death metal i hope that o´connor will be fine ..

    dean is awesome thou

  • @OFIDH Nah dude Troy has played on every album since songs for the deaf and Joeys played on every album since lullabies.

  • @tomsbrainhurts That's right, but he didn't play on QOTSA S/T or Rated R, both prior to SFTD and the rest. Homme is the only constant member.

  • @OFIDH You tell em' Wayne. His comment doesn't even make sense lol. Also to be technically Joey tour on the SftD album but did not record.. He joined up for the European leg of the tour when Dave Grohl left.

  • This is great video, you can't even hear McNichol's lead guitar, and Josh's guitar is so freaking heavy.

  • the heavier, the better

  • who gives a rats about the crowd? why are you so focussed on what other people are doing, often i'll jump around but sometimes i just want to stand still and take it all in as do others, this is a gem from the Rated R period.

  • what up with the front row of the crowd looking bored and the row behind them rocking out :\ should be the other way around

  • this song is a masterpiece

  • does anyone knows wich amp Josh Homme normally use ?

  • nope- i think the band are quite hush-hush about how they get that unique sound!

  • very nice..!! this was before STFD was repleased...

  • this festival was not in Budapest!! It was in Weeze/Kleve in Germany!(August,18.)

    I was There :)

  • My mistake, fixed. Thanks.

  • @78esco09 me too :) i think queens of the stone age played almost every year at the bizarre :)

  • @78esco09 you´re so fucking lucky

  • This lead singer looks to me like he could be the progeny of Elvis Presley, like all rock stars. He looks and acts just like Elvis, too. He even has the curled lip. Remember Elvis' curled lip?

  • Actually, Josh Homme is called the Ginger Elvis, he does do a lot of the same thing's as Elvis.

    Both bad ass.

  • Nice, there was another version of this but the sound quality was bad.. much better here. thanks!
