One of the interesting things about Koalas is that they are very good at building comfortable perches to sit in even on ground level can construct rudimentary structure to sit on, much like a chair. In fact the word Koala is an aboriginal word that literally means Chair Bear.

They are stoned most of the day as all that eat is the native eucalyptus tree leaf and it has similar effects to pot.they may look cute but their claws are like razor sharp switch blades.
@vsboy25 Actually, they are not stoned or drunk. These are fallacies about koalas. They sleep a lot because they take eat such low-calorie diet (of about 500g eucalyptus leaf per day). It is true, however, that their claws can leave nasty scratches!
A couple of ways: the males have testicles that are visible (actually, they're kind of cute & furry!). On the females you can sometimes see a puckering of the pouch. Another obvious sign is that the males have a scent gland that is like a vertical crease near the top of their chests. It is generally quite sweaty - it smells intensely of eucalyptus and footy socks...apparently it attracts the ladies. To simply things at the hospital, we tag male koalas in the left ear and females in the right :)
