I like Within Temptation and I like Tori, but this.... no. Very bad! I would be great, if she had changed it in her own style, in Within Temptation style, but she just tried to sing it like Tori and this does not work. Sorry Sharon.

I think my point is that most people try to cover a song and play it exactly like the original artist. It's not a "copy" it's a cover, you MUST make it your own. Otherwise it's basically a remix.

I think what is peculiar concerning song covers and Tori Amos is that she is THE master of covers. Prime example is "Angie" originally performed by The Rolling Stones. She made that song HERS. Then there's "Raining Blood" originally performed by Slayer. I'm sure she made Tom Araya weep when he heard that cover. It makes the hair on my neck stand up every time I listen to it.

LOVE Tori, and like WT but this song is best left to the only one that is able to master this and capture the emotions involved. No Tori cover will ever be as good, ever.

I'm not surprised that she's a fan of Tori Amos; I thought I heard quite a bit of Tori inspiration in the WT song "Reckless."

I think her voice is absolutely perfect for this song... of course the original belongs to Tori Amos but covers are for showing something new with the song. Sharon did it very well.

im very surprised that within temptation decided to cover this song, very unusual for this band. but the result is pretty good, I like Sharon´s voice here better than in some WT songs where she sings in the high pitch only.

I assume she does it on purpose, I think it sounds very good actually, even if the real lyric of course is the best one. I just like the idea of changing songs and make them into something new, and I think she does that impressingly good.
