i want to understand your thought process / actions, you said you grew up in a jewish family. you found 2 booklets in different toronto phone booths that said "the jewish people are the chosen people" - "what are you waiting for?" but what i dont understannd is WHY did you than want to read a bible? ie a christian bible that has nothing to do with jews or theyre beliefs?? wouldnt that event make you want to read a torah or study the jews as the chosen people?
@dutchdettweiler The Bible is filled with information about the Jewish people and always health. For both reasons I was excited to read and learn from the Bible. Our Messiah was Jewish so I wanted to see what He had to say.
@dutchdettweiler Torah is simply the Hebrew word for the first five books of the Old Testament. Practicing Jews believe that the Old Testament is the complete Bible. The Christian Bible is comprised of the Old and New Testaments. So, since the Old Testament is 2/3rds of the Christian Bible, it has lots to do with the Jews and their beliefs. Additionally, aside from believers in replacement theology, Christians believe that the Jews are the chosen people as well. I hope this helps.
I am not Jewish but my savior Yeshua is. I want to honor the high holy days and most Christian churches don't celebrate them...but I want to live the way my Lord Jesus/Yeshua did as He lived to please the Father. Contact me if you have a group. Yours in Christ, Renee
When we learn the Hebrew language, the Torah opens up a whole new world. We start to understand how much the father loves us. We can never really understand what the Messiah was saying until we get a better understanding of the Hebrew mind set. All praises to Yah! Shalom.
Shalom my brother. I understand. When i came to this knowledge, a lot of my christian brothers and sisters had no idea what I was talking about. I would say Yahuah and Yahusha. Keep the faith
Yeshua is the Hebrew transliteration of His birth name, right? Eashoa is His name in Aramaic - the language He actually spoke. So why aren't we calling Him Eashoa?
I've read comments & the ones that speak of Christians are not under the law are confused. I have The Complete Jewish Bible and the translation is so clear. Greeks translated the original scriptures but words were changed to how THEY interpreted it, they didn't see the scriptures as it was truly written. Christians believe they are "free" from the law, we're NOT. We are free from the curse of the law. Read Galatians in The Complete Jewish Bible it will help you understand the scriptures better.
@barbaralroot The Greeks did not translate the original scriptures, it was translated into Greek by Greek-speaking Jewish rabbis numbering about 70 or 72 about 200 years before Christ. That's why it's called the Septuagint. So those Jewish rabbis in Alexandria definitely knew how to translate and interpret their own Scriptures.
Paul, you need to listen to me, I came out of Orthodoxy, when I came to faith. TORAH IS NOT A REQUIREMENT OF THE CHRISTIAN, EVEN IF HE IS JEWISH. I keep Jewish traditions, but Christ as my as my foundation!
YESAHUA wants me to OBEY the ESSENE GOSPEL OF PEACE and itry with LL my HEART to do so then i can TELL other people (not so-called ) christians they won't listen i keep this TEMPLE clean as POSSIBLE for HIS GLORY and MY benifet and others
read the bible ... even thou he did all the jewish traditions and ceremonies cause he was Jew yet for the non Jews he didn't ask them to do such traditions and ceremonies cause all he cares for is to accept what he has for all humanity (not just the jews) and to have a relationship with him knowing that the only way to the father is through him :)
I agree with him BUT, Jesus is no longer concerned about the ceremonies that we follow any more .. what he is concerned about is baptism to receive the holy spirit, constant repentance for our sins, LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS HE LOVED US, LOVE GOD WITH ALL OUR HEART SOUL AND MIND and finally to make a relationship with God. .. so this brain wash is not a brain wash as you call it cause Jesus doesn't care for anyone of that:) .. Glade to hear your story and Jesus Bless you :D
I agree with you most Christians do not know the bible and do not even know the Character of G-D. Most (almost all) do not keep the Sabbath. Do you have a video on the Holy days that Christians should keep?
You are correct. Scriptures tell us "remove not the ancient landmark". Also, "one jot, and one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law". Yeshua, and his apostles were Jewish, and observed these holidays, and feasts that we should today.
10:37 - 11:00 thank you! very few people in the church are willing to do the works (but are real quick to tell you about yourself). lol. i have some crazy stories about deacons and "saints". i recently had to get real about whether i wanted to serve God or me. i was following my own will at someone's expense because i felt they didn't deserve my respect & kindness (still don't but working on that, lol), but decided if i truly love God i need to do God's will, not mine. It was a struggle.
I think this man is confused about what Jesus taught the Jews before He died and made the new covenant. Under the grace of the new covenant even Jews are not under the Law.
This is very condensed and is not complete, but rather a general overview and possibly missing some things.. I encourage anyone seeking YHWH, His Torah and/or His Son Yahshua to read the Word and also use the internet, there are many wonderful resources online to help you observe the moadim - appointed times.
Yom Kippur - Day of Atonement - a 24 hour fast , sundown to sundown no food / water.. reflect on sins and Yahshua's atoning blood, repent and return to YHWH
Sukkot - dwell in temporary dwellings for 7 days, the 8th day is the great day that signifies the new beginning
To those who are asking about the Feast Days.. Here is a GENERAL rundown, but always check the Word (Lev 23)
Passover - attend a Seder etc
Feast of Unleavened Bread - remove yeast from your house prior, do not eat anything with yeast for 7 days, no work 1st and last day of this 7 days (sundown to sundown)
Feast of First Fruits - if you harvest, you offer up your first harvest to YHWH, we remember that Yahshua is first fruits of resurrected man ..
I love what you have said in this video.. I went through a lot of the same thing. Then I came out of this church, and I now love and live by the Torah.I am still learning and just found out that my great grandfather was Jewish. Still trying to figure out how to observe the feasts, but I am really looking forward to our first Passover! Praise Yah! You are a blessing. May YHWH bless you and yours in all you do!
Thank You HealthWatchman for your obedience. Your annointed words explain it so well, as it always is when Yeshua uses one of us to speak for Him.
I am also a Messianic Believer. I was raised in the Episcopal Church. When I was old enough He launched me on a journey to find all He had for me. That journey led me to His Torah, and completed me as a Believer. At that point the Bible made so much more sense. I am now learning Ancient Hebrew so I can read it in the original language. Praise Him!
Thanks for sharing your testimony! Especially the mandate to make disciples! Please eloborate on your immersion, as I am convinced this is yet another skimmed over teaching of scripture (Romans 6:1-4, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:36-41)
Very good message, Paul. I myself am a Gentile messianic believer. A good book I would recommend for Gentile Christians interested in following the Torah is called Restoration: Returning the Torah of God to the Disciples of Jesus by D. Thomas Lancaster.
@jamesers99 I don't refer to myself as a gentile even though in the eyes of the world I am, but when you call upon the name of HaShem, the G-d of Israel, you are no longer a "gentile" but a Hebrew. Most of the time in the Bible when the term Gentile or Goyim is used, it's referring to Pagans.
Thanks for sharing your information with us. You speak of keeping the feasts. Can you please tell us what the feast are, when they are and what one needs to do or eat during the feasts and how do they work?
This was so encouraging ..You are a very awesome lamb of God .I was delighted to hear your testimony and see your face light up when you talk about Yasushua the messiah . I love Him too and He is the way ,the truth, and the life. You are a real threat to the enemy because you have the roots that run deep into the word of God...love you . Be bold for Him always. I pray for Israel. Rosalind
you know its rather interesting- and im not saying right or wrong- but it always seem to me, that those who are actually raised in a faith- in your case lets say orthodox Judaism, are not likely to switch religions because they have been taught Hebrew, Torah, etc.. anyway, thx for sharing.
Paul, I love that you talk about Jesus/Yeshua. It is rare for someone in the raw food/natural health movement to lift up his name. But would you please direct me to the passages where Jesus said to keep Torah? Is it true that in Torah someone was killed for picking up a stick on Sabbath? I don't think they were just guidelines and instructions. They where laws and breaking them was deadly serious. Does any "Torah keeper" literally keep Torah?
Good job Paul, also believe in Yeshua as my Messiah and thank Yahweh for His love. I come a traditional Christian upbringing, but believe the Holy Spirit is opening the hearts of many believers out there to embrace their Hebrew roots. I've just recently been led to the Ephraim / Judah (Lost tribes of Israel / 2 Houses phenomenon) teaching and it's as though this was the missing link. Explains so much to me. Jeremiah 31:31. Stay blessed Paul, love your work, especially the raw testimonials.

Shalom.
I work in medicine. I find this interesting.
In the Bible, The Lord commands to circumcise on the 8th day of life.
Now we give male babies vitamin K shots shortly after birth.
Vit K. aids in the coagulation cascade allowing blood to clot.
In ancient times, there were no vitamin K shots.
Do you know that a baby does not have enough vitamin K to clot until after the first week of life.
Around the 8th day, circumcision can be performed without endangering the child.
Coincidence?
