Hurt's character Richard Rich was a trecherous snake. ThomasMore recognised Rich's his inherent character and tried to steer him away from the English court. But Rich was having none of it. He ended up Attorney General for Wales partly in exchange for perjuring himself at More's trial.

@MontyPython246 Well, how long have you got? We don't make 'em like this anymore because the drama schools are churning kids out like jelly babies into a saturated profession where as far as directors are concerned, they all look and act the same. The repertory companies have all closed down where people like "Scofe" learned their craft, to be replaced by ultra PC TIE companies, nobody learns standard English anymore, the emphasis now being on the supposed "reality" of regional accents etc etc..
