Actually I'm a hard core fan of one of the best sci-fi novels so far. The ODST trailer was good. Really, it was. But that's not enough to redeem the game it's based on.

Halo is Ringworld, Starship Troopers, the Death Star, etc. Everything it dopes has been done before and better. Halo is safe and marketable and though it isn't bad it's often bland, especially when you know what material it's ripping off.

Halo 1 was one long string of corridors, a brief period of fun in a tank, then more halls. It was confined and boring and nothing new. The story sucked and the gameplay was a parade of features I'd seen better executed in other games.

I actually lost interest in console gaming after the SNES/Genesis era and never looked back on that. And I'm not the fanboy here, you are.
