Contrary to what you said theories can be ideas, speculations or guesses, often weighted with significance because of the profile of the person selling them and lauded until a better theory comes along. r2... The talk was designed to challenge peoples acceptance of faith and this in my opinion includes peoples faith in science. One only has to observe the blind following of the fraud Stephen Hawking to know that science for many is a belief system and people can easily be "Blinded by Science"
Theories are not ideas, speculations or guesses.
