  • Trying out for this play next week. I'd love to be Hodel or Chava, but as one of the youngest actresses trying out I'm aiming for Sprintze first.

  • that is really good singing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @awesomeperson2001 Thank you very much!

  • @Hoobahoo it is an E

  • Oh man lol im playing Perchik in my schools production of this now im wondering if ill be able sing this well enough

  • There's no way in hell I'm going to be able to sing this song as well as that.

  • @SackToucher Thank you!!! All the best in your production - Break a leg!

  • i'm Hodel in my production, and I'm really looking forward to doing this song :) it might be a little awkward because the guy who plays Perchick is shorter and younger than me and we've never even met before until today, but i think we'll be more comfortable by opening night :P i love this song <3

  • this is the best song in the show xD

  • This is an excellent rendition of this song. The quips of shouting make the performance memorable, plus the singer is very good on his own. I recently played the role of Perchik in a middle school production of Fiddler on the Roof, and since then the show has become my favorite musical of all time.

  • I'm Perchik in my production, that note at the end is my all time favorite end of a male solo (mostly solo) song.

  • @foreveragain13 Do you, or anyone that reads this, know what the final note is?

  • thanks! hope you can go far with musical theatre, u r quite talented!

  • ooh, that's a fun part! sorry but just wondering, do u have any tips for the stage kiss?

  • @lilybianca

practice makes perfect. LOL. Hope you have a nice person you're working with. Thankfully I have always worked with some fabulous talented women.

  • i love how she is taller than him! i just feel that the guy should always be taller....

  • @lilybianca

well we all can't be 6 foot 2. LOL. Mallory and I have done a few shows together - thankfully she wears flats!

  • @DentistTenor yes! in my show of guys and dolls, sky and i are the same height but with my shoes i am a bit taller than him, but its fine. by the way u have an amazing voice!!

  • @lilybianca

Thank you - I really appreaciate it! Have fun with Guys and Dolls. I played Benny Southstreet in that show before.

  • Excellent! Great singin!

  • He is brilliant! Well done!! The girl is fantastic to, there is real emotion and chemistry on stage! Fab!

  • @Blinkrules101 that sucks haha have fun with that

  • I think this was one of the stronger songs in the show and thought it was too bad that it left out of the movie. Maybe too light for Paul Michael Glasser's ultra serious revolutionary in Jewison's vision.

  • I got hodel in the play and i had no idea this song even existed! I cant even find it in my script! where in the play does this occur?

  • I love this song, but I HATE that the composer didn't let the chord resolve at the end.

it's in the Key of G, and ends on an E.... that doesn't make sense.

It'd make more sense if it ended on a G, which is higher, but its much bigger and shows range. just my opinion.

  • This is a fine cast. What is this production?

  • @fishyfish4444 - Thank you! This is from the 2006 Cadenza Production of Fiddler on the Roof in Port Perry, Ontario, Canada

  • ♥ cos I feel like it ♥ I love you ♥

  • I am Perchik in a community production of Fiddler. I can't help but to compare myself. He has a good voice, I just don't enjoy his acting to much. And that little grin he has the whole time.

  • Thank you for your comment. The song is titled - "Now I Have Everything".....you may want to try acting happy while you sing it.

  • @bladkaka

I actually think his acting is quite correct. The charming boyish grim is not inappropriate. The casting is lacks the ethnicity for this work.

  • @bladkaka

I teach an acting course and I have used this clip to show how exactly to sing this song. When he is sitting on the step--the ease in which he sings and acts. The confidence that his character is displaying ---the small, subtle gestures. He makes it look easy and it is correct for his character--a character that is very sure that he is right about everything and everyone else 'just doesn't get it'. Very Well Done.

  • @oxbow2442 Thank you very much oxbow2442! Your comment made my day!

  • @oxbow2442

Yes, he is sure of himself, but he is also an intellectual that is very reserved. He can look proud while still being modest. Watch the actor in the movie when she says yes.

  • Hopefully I don't have to do the kiss! I got Perchik and Hodel is my recently ex's older sister!

  • was this song in the film?

  • no. but its in the actual musical. its a shame too because i think its better than motel's solo song. just some productions take it out for who knows what reason

  • Excellent voice and great job with the song. Did it myself in Fiddler on the Roof in May 1983 in STL

  • I live in St. Louis! :o Was it at the Fox Theatre or somewhere else?

  • yeah i want there to be a kiss :D i have 2 weeks to learn this song! and i'm not a singer. but he's done a good job of it.

  • this guy is amazing

  • Really wonderful rendition of this song-you have the perfect quality for this character-Bravo!

  • The kiss isn't in the script, I'm playing Hodel and there is a kiss when he asks her to merry him, but my perchik and I didn't kiss yet...but maybe we have to kiss too

  • This guy is awesome!!! Shot!!!

  • wow i wish i had a voice like that im auditioning for perchick and about the kiss, if the director wants you to kiss then do it, its aonly acting remember its not you its the charcater

  • lol im perchik in a play lol but i dont have to sing that song HAHAHA LOL

  • This is the best perchick i've seen yet. I just found out that I'm playing Hodel (I still have no idea who playing perchick! HA!). But i didn't know about this song when i tried out, and i didn't know about the kissing at the end. Is that in the script? Yikes! I hope my perchicks handsome!

  • sarah? is that you cause i swear if its not i will lmao b/c same situation and sounds so much like her/you

  • The kiss isnt in the script, and nobody ever really does it because it wasn't kosher back in those days until after you were wed. But great job on the song! I'll be uploading my production of fiddler to youtube as soon as i get the video.

  • awesome man!

  • Wait - IS THAT KISS IN THE SCRIPT?!?!?!?!? Like, does everyone do it, or was this just anexecutive decision for this particular production? Because I'm probably getting Hodel and the guy playing Perchik is already cast and he's the same age as my dad. :/

  • Oy vey. I'm in a play, too, and I'm the only character with a kissing scene. =/

If the kiss scene arises, privatley let the director know that it would make you more comfortable if you did something like the "hat kiss"--where the guy takes off his hat and puts it over your faces and pretends to kiss you. Back then, people kissed behind hats and stuff. lol I hope everything goes well with you!

  • this is excellent

  • i gave this one a 5!!

your perchik is the best on youtube. its really hard to find a quality performance on this damn website but you did the job!!

but i also agree that whoever blocked this song should be made to suffer.

  • woah! he does it PERFECT!!!!

  • Well, I thought the blocking was sort of awkward.

HOWEVER... these two leads have absolutely FANTASTIC chemistry, and that's something you can't fake. I truly believed it when they were singing to each other. Good job!!

  • I agree, the chemistry is phenomenal! I'm playing Hodel and my best friend is playing Perchik in my school's production, I hope we can achieve the same effect!

  • LOL there werent enough guys in our play so my husband has to be a 12 year old girl thats short. ARGH and im 16

  • Ummm.... do you know if hodel is the biggest girls pat in this

  • I played Hodel and I liked it because I got to sing the most out of all the daughters I sang in Match Maker, Now I have Everything and Far From the Home I Love. Hope that helped.

  • that sucks. and im auditioning for hodel whoo!

  • wow immence!

  • Wow put me to shame

  • they cut this out of the movie

  • Actually the role of Perchik is a high baritone.

    I loved playing this role.

Prolly my favorite male lead in this show.

Just keep working on those high notes! Then that last note will feel so natural!

This guy is really good btw!

    =]

  • NICE!!!!!!!

  • GRAH.

having the worst time with playing perchik right now.

definitely not a tenor at all.

  • He has such an amazing voice!

One of my friend is going to be Perchik and I hope he can sing as well as him! Haven't heard him sing so im looking forward to seeing Fiddler on the Roof!

  • This guy is pretty freaking fantastic..

  • i am picked for perchik's role for my senior project musical. i hope i sing half as good as he did

  • WOW. You guys have AMAZING voices!! And the acting whilst you are singing is so good too! You've really managed to bring this song across well - brilliant! Well done!

  • Yeah, this is gold. I'm rehearsing the role of Perchik right now, and I hope I can be half as good as this guy! And Hodel is good too!

  • this is really awesome- its my fave of all the videos of this song that Ive watched online so far! excellent job to both of u!

ps- Im rehearsing for a production of Fiddler right now, Im hodel :)

  • he is really good!
