YES! THANK YOU! This is what I've been looking for, for three days. But when I look up the 51 color I can not find this box for the life of me.
Silly question, is it the same as the 51 medium ash brown being sold in a different box? "Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color Creme 51 Medium Ash Brown". I just want to make sure before purchasing.
That totally cut my first comment below in half! Anyway, I purchased Medium Brown. Not ash med brown. My hair has a red tint to it that I want to get rid of but my friend which is a colorist made a face when I mentioned ash a while back. Not sure why,it just cuts red. But he's completely freaked me out abt it ..anyway, TY for the review!
@kristiediamond My red is still there with the Ash brown, but it comes out more as a highlight, as opposed to the medium brown which is warmer and will add more red to your hair. I like it because my hair doesn't look like one solid flat color. I just read an article that said colorists don't like when we say take the red out because they think we mean take the warmth out, but really we just don't want to go all coppery or brassy. Ash neutralizes that in my opinion. Good Luck!
Ty FINALLY!!! some insight..there isn't much help on YouTube when it comes to hair color. I love your color! I researched best home hair dye and this is what I came up with. I used Revlon Colorsilk about a week ago, in a light brown because I was dark wheat blonde, the Revlon faded dramatically after one wash, burned/stinging my scap during processing. After third wash, some of the blonde is shining through almost giving a grey hue to my hair. Ugh!!! Your review was informative !! I purchased t
Thanks for this video about hair color. So far i' ve just been using the semi permanent dyes but think I might soon have to move into the permanent ones. I'm nervous about it ,so your advise and recommendation is very helpful! Love all your videos !
I have been dying my hair every two or three months with permanent die for years. Strangely my hair is not completely dead but I take good care of it otherwise... but then last time it BURNED so horribly. I had a scab on my scalp after and then dandruff for weeks after. Any idea why all of a sudden?
@karoju82 That is so bizzare. I had an sponaneous allergic reaction once to something I had used with no problem for ages. My doctor told me that allergies can just randomly start and stop, and your body can also have different reactions to something at any given time for seemingly no reason. It was probably just a fluke, or perhaps caused by the build up of one of the ingredients over several months. I'd switch to a demi for a while, like the Natural Instincts, and be careful with your head!
@juliagoolia72 Weird! I'm actually totally gonna try switching to demi for a while based on your suggestion because I don't have grey hair anyway.. my natural colour is just bland and mousy (does that make sense?) so I prefer to keep it dyed... here's hoping I'm over my random allergy bout or whatever haha....
i used to colour my hair ALOT! about 3 years ago i stopped colouring it all together! i sometimes get the urge to colour it again (like right now). When i did colour it i ALWAYS use Nurtrisse. i loved it
Your hair looks in fab condition. I need to do mine just trying to summon the energy lol. I am a slam bam thank you mam I don't even use the brush I just squeeze it on mush it about a bit and pray lol :0) xxxJoolsxxx
@lnghrnfan74 this is under $10 and I always see it on sale. So much more gentle on your hair. If you feel you have greys, cover them! I can't be one of those women who goes grey. It looks nice on others, I just end up looking witchy. My husband thinks it's cute! Phfffff!
Just a little advice from a professional point of view, after applying the product to your roots, next time you should add equal amount of warm water to what's left in your bottle before applying it to your length because the strength of the peroxyde in this formula is much stronger than the Natural Instinct so you will end up with much drier length if the product is not diluted with water. I love this product too, I use it too, it's a good drugstore product!
Love the rich color you got with this shade, I'm going to have to try this one. I find that Garnier Nutrisse is so easy to spread around in my hair, with some other brands it's like it gets pasted to your head and you can't get the product evenly distributed. This one also leaves a beautiful shine and softness.....no hay like dull hair.

I have tried others as well and this one seems to be very gentle and not as drying. So I concur. Your hair is so purty!
