  • clavergamer your country is poor ............ok about india is a very sophisticated and religous

  • one ordah of fried wonton noodah!

  • What a fuckwit.

  • Mr Lee came from Hong Kong's origin!

  • where is lee ka sing come from ? Canada ? i know he has canada citizen...

  • Nothing to proud of. Almost all companies which seeling neccesity goods in Hong Kong belong to him though corruption. His presence is one of the reason why Hong Kong have the largest Gini Coefficient. So FUCK YOU LEE KA SHING!

  • India is poor. Its a fact. When people are so poor, they have little choice and power. Therefore it is likely that wealth will end up in the hands of few very privileged ones due to the massive gap between rich and poor. lot of exploitation going on there where people will work their socks off making others rich. This man pretty much created everything out of nothing. A phenomenal talent.

  • His wealth comes from good citizens’ blood!!!!

  • its peter chao!

  • because Li Ka-Shing got another north American national passport so he is not REAL local Hong Kong people, he stay in h.k. time only in his teenager , after that ,more than 50% on his private jet!!!

  • dude, this guy is sooo damn RICHH!!! @_@

who,(chinese) doesnt know LEE KA SHING ! lol

  • i thinks i'm 10 richest man in world $1,835 and .50 thanks

  • This man is a super LEGEND !

It's like a man of myth but in reality.

  • god i hate the cantonese dialect... sound like verbal turds. got no problem with mandarin though (YES AMERICANS CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE)

  • its teochew you fucking idiot

  • @richie8811

Actually Li Ka Shing speaks in a Chaozhou accent, that's where he's originated and the chaozhou dialect is his first languages.

There are many Chaozhou people in HK and they are known to excel in doing business. Actually Hong Kong's population is made up of immigrants from all over China and Asia post second war so there's a very mixed accent with Cantonese amongst the local Chinese and sometimes it sounds funny.

  • @richie8811 yes, i agree even though we speak that language in the family. cantonese is flamboyant and very brusque for the ear.

mandarin would be more natural. but cantonese serves its role in preserving hk's distinct local identity from the mainland.

  • i guess, the richest man in asia is mukesh ambani...

  • that is pretty impressive for a guy who hasnt even finshed primary school, especially he spent most of his lifetime in china and hong kong

  • @nicholas9254 It's important to note that he dropped out of school because of his family circumstances, not of his laziness or inability to excel academically.

  • @nicholas9254 it can't be true, how can he have not finished primary school while he comments on sub prime loan crisis in the us housing market.

    the man is a smart.

  • @MrMarkoUK

He hasn't finished primary school because he had to work to make ends meet when he was young. But he kept learning by himself during his work. He quit school not because he is not smart enough but for financial reason. It was common for kids from poor family in the old days.

  • duh

  • STFU

  • he dropped out of high school and he was broke now he is one of the richest man in the world. wow

  • Richest man in Asia is Mukesh Ambani Net Worth 20Billion$ Google it There are Lot of poor ppl in india But Alot of Rich ppls aslo..,

Li Ka-is richest man in East Asia only..Chinese Open your small eyes -;-

  • Yes, you are right about Mukesh Ambani. But Indian people should fix up your shitty ass country first before you comment on Chinese people. Also India people need to learn some manner and tip better. Most of my server here in Las Vegas refuse to serve Indian people due do their lack of tips and smell...learn something from the Japanese pls.

  • @apt62 I know right, no wonder nobody wants to serve the Indians.Worst still, those Indians think they deserve to be treated like Kings b/c the see the American waiters/waitresses as the poor in India. They look down upon the poor Indians with whom they share heritage! Disgusting people! I wouldn't be surprised if RanDomRahul suffer from hypothyroid cretinism. I am pretty sure not all Indians are like this pathetic soul.

  • wow, u smell like shit.

  • Comment removed

  • @RanDomRahuL hahahaha

  • diu lay lo mo mor law char

  • @RanDomRahuL India's GDP per capita is so much lower than Hong Kong, so don't even open your mouth. I was watching National Geography yesterday and saw how pityful many Indians who are still in the slums today...it touched my heart so much that I vow to donate to India whn I start making money in the future...you're a disgrace to the Indians...If your fellow Indians are so rich, plz ask them to stop applying for scholarships in the US on our tax-payers money!

  • @RanDomRahuL India is a THIRD WORLD country, with high percentage of poverty! Why don't you spend your quality time eradicating poverty in your country?Plz ask your government to have better quality control over your water supply, public ammenities, and its people morality! My heart goes out to ppl who visited India and came back with DIARRHEA! Btw,Im not a Hong Kongese,I just can't stand your arrogance that sprouts frm god knows where.

  • He is super rich. So what?

  • OMG .. that's a cool Teochew accented Cantonese!

  • I reckon I laughed when he spoke English. But I also realise he didn't attend schools and learnt it himself, which not many people can achieve. Salute

  • .......

  • it would be HK's richest man

  • India is a part of Asia. This is not Asia's richest man.

  • I think india has the most billionaires in Asia.

The sad thing is there are so many poor poor people in India.

  • yes,India has the most billionaires but the richest one is lee kah shing.

  • @SKbex YES RITE Y THEY NOT ON THE LIST OF BILLIONIARS,,

  • @SKbex ... Hi All . .There seems to be some confusion from all the comments ..

    1) India does not have the most billionaires .. America Does .. Officially china has 60 odd billionaires ... but the true amount is 3 times that

    2) India has the most millionaires

    3) India also has 452 Million living below the poverty line (according to the BBC)

    4) India is a part of Asia .. although really everything east of Burma is truely Asia . .India belongs to the subcontinent ...

  • @SKbex

    5) If India Was in Asia .. then the wealthiest individual would not be an Indian .. it would in fact be the suharto Clan of Indonesia or the marcoses of the Phillipines

  • @SKbex no the richest is mukesh ambani of india ...followed by lakshmi mittal who has indian citizenship but resides in britian.. maybe in 2007 ..li ka-shing was the richest asian ..now he is third ..india has the most billionaires in Asia ...India is a part of Asia ..it is called in the sub-continental region or in South Asia ... western world usually refers to South-east ASians as asians but that doesn't mean India is not a part of Asia. All these guys are should be adored and respected ..

  • @SKbex ... yeah... cause India's Richest enslave their own people... India's the Poorest Nation per capita per person... India needs a Revolution!

  • @SKbex india is a country with a billion people...hk is a city with only 7million....you sure you still have the face to bring up a comparison?

  • 吸血鬼!!!!!

  • Consider Mr. Li education background his English is quite good. I should say is as good as his Cantonese. Mr. Li mother tongue is " Chiu Chow" and has a typical accent from his own dialect. The sad thing is today Hong Kong university students English are not even come close to Mr. Li.

  • i think his english should practice more

  • why? so he can be articulate for an job interview? mr. li doesn't have to practice english, other people just need to learn how to understand his use of english. you are the one who needs to practice more (and me too).

  • his cantonese is fucked up, what dialect does he speak originally?

  • mandarin i think he's from mainland originally

  • you're an infp! Just like me!

  • and ur the guy on the side of the street, lookin out of his card board box sayin 'i could have been....' so u just keep on dreaming wile the rest of us move on to acheive '' material things'' ;)

  • 全無新意!

  • no no no

  • he's my fav billionaire

  • You shut up , Moron....

Mr. LEE sucks every Hong Kong people's money!!!

  • Chinese Ownership of Mexican Port Causing Worry"....

Chinese control of worldwide port facilities is an issue that should be reexamined in light of recent concerns about rising Chinese influence around the globe.

  • labor13, what do you have against the Chinese? Did they kill most of the Native Americans and took over their land and continuously abuse new comers from Mexico and other Latin American countries? Did the Chinese enslave people from Africa for 400 years? Did the Chinese invade countries in the middle east? And given that your last name being Sanchez, you should know better and wake the fuck up! you brain-washed fool!!!

  • You watch to much TV son...I love my freedom not like you hott air!!!

  • freelife2b, don't worry about me kid... being what you are you got way bigger problems in America than I do... better watch your back poor kid. Now go clean my bathroom!

  • denise please speak respectfully, even if others do not. No one gains friends by pointing out the imperfections of others without trying to find the imperfections of ones self.

  • indians are richer than chinese, and indians are asian not just east asian people!!!!!!!!!!

  • indians richer than Chinese? in your fucking dreams!!! go take a shit on your own side walk in broad day light like you normally do you filthy smelly pig!

  • his cantonese is poor.

  • He speaks Teochew

  • i totally respect that, cuz i speak the same thing as he does, so we're gonna have a very nice conversation

  • Check out the documentary Cheung Kong DOESN'T WANT YOU TO SEE: Key word search: Cheung Kong Ban: TVB Pearl Documentary on Cheung Kong's refusal to intervene to ban a convicted child molester from returning to the clubhouse in one of its properties.

  • willsmit119 can suck my dick

  • the richest in asia is actually an indian. the richest east asian is him. and the top 5 richest east asians are all from hk

  • hey what's wrong with you? you racist monkey cock sucking giraff? whatever race you are f u c k you, shut up and good bye.

  • I agree with you, slowsti. If one has truely read Li Ka Shing's history, I do believe most people with a less egocentric and better analysing skills, will like him instead of dislike him. Just wondering who is the real opportunist here? The one to be judged or the one who thinks they can be a good judge. Mr. Li is a very humble, realistic and practical old man to me. Being compassionate is important but one has to be practical and realistic too in order to survive in the real world.

  • Cheung Kong's property management company Goodwell in Hong Kong refuses to ban a convicted child molester from returning to the Laguna Verde clubhouse where he molested a 12 year old boy. Check out video, key word search Cheung Kong

  • It's human nature to get something for nothing. Once people got a taste of "free money/welfare" many of them get used to it and stopped looking for a job or studying to improve their work skills. They would be thinking "why should I work if the government gives me free money every month?" I personally believe every form of welfare should be short term and people must show proofs that they are using it only as a short term mean to get them out of trouble.

  • slowsti: No one likes to be unemployed, welfare or not

Australia has 94.9% employment, but has a generous welfare system that affords the unemployed a dignified living for as long as needed. If just 5% behave the way you say (the number is probably much smaller), that's pretty good odds and I'd rather pay for welfare than have them stave or see crime increase.

I think a "money for nothing" attitude is indicative of a sick culture or warped individual, not humanity, that is the real problem

  • slowsti: Notwithstanding what I said earlier, not even the most dedicated leftist would believe that welfare is perpetual.

Ideally it is a system designed to a assure the unemployed a dignified living while assisting them to seek work.

Ultimately, however, it must be relative to the culture & reality of the society & thus perhaps is best suited to aulturistic societies.

Then again, perhaps it could help make a cut-throat society (as you described) more altruistic?

    Something to consider...

  • I don't know why you say he opposes welfare but based on the amount of money he donated to the poor and building schools and hospitals I don't think it's true. And even if it were, honestly I believe social welfare is just a form of addictive drug to keep people from working/renovating themselves.

  • i never knew he can speak english!!!

  • what ?

  • isnt lakshmi mittal the richest asian

  • yeh mittal is the richest asian and since im a man u fan and noticed ur name man u arnt shit there good

  • so much money but when he die, he cant even bring the money with him.. hahahha

  • No he can't bring his money when he dies but he has been donating billions of dollars to build hospitals and universities, to healthcare research, scholarships etc. What have you done to contribute to the society other than laughing at a honorable man here?

  • slowsti: Do you actually think he's 'honourable'? I suggest you read some history on this fellow. I'm afraid, opportunistic is the term I think you're looking for. Honourable is reserved for people who deserve it

  • He might be aggressive and predatory when he's acting as a businessman which there is nothing wrong with it. In business, you don't servive for decades if you're soft hearted. However, when I say he's a honorable man I'm talking about how de devotes so much of his time in his charitable activities and donating so much of his own money to help the others. Remember he doesn't have to do any of it and yet he chose to. People are just hateful and jealous of him because he is rich. Am I right?

  • slowsti: Well, perhaps some are jealous. But most don't like him because he's a big part of a mechanism that keeps property artificially above HK$20 per sq ft per month (out of reach of many of HK's poor), opposes welfare and colludes with the govt.

As for his charitable activities, one must balance the effect of his business on HK versus the his charitable dealings & whether that benefits him. To me, he's a tycoon, nothing more. I believe Jimmy Lai HK's only honourable tycoon.

  • I'm not living in HK so I don't know what the reasonable price per sq ft should be but in any free market the price is dictated by supply vs demand. Many HK people are speculating with real estate and hence the rise of home price. If it costs him $18-$20/sq ft to build why would he sell it for less? After all his company needs to make profit to satisfy the stock holders and to survive! In the process of making himeself rich he is also helping other people (stock holders) getting rich!

  • slowsti: I don't think you understand the mechanics of HK's property market.

Most of HKs land is government land, occasionally hectares of land are tendered to property developers who build skyscrapers and then sell the individual apartments.

1st, this is NOT free market economics, 2nd it keeps property prices artificially high. He is a big part of this mechanism

He & his shareholders wealth comes at the expense of literally millions who have no choice but to pay often unaffordable high rent

  • Money grubber... He made his wealth by buying real estate on the cheap when Yeung Kwong and the leftists were bombing our home in the 60s. Then after making a fortune off us, he moved most of his capital to Canada just before 97. He could use his voice to speak up on democracy in HK, instead he keeps quiet. What can I say? He likes his money...

  • What's wrong with making money from other people? It's what keeps the economy going.

And in reference to your statement about him keeping quiet: he's smart. What kind of idiot would stir up trouble that could endanger their life's work? Would you do it in his situation?

  • I didn't say there was anything wrong with it, he's a businessman. They love their money, but not much else

Who would risk everything for the benefit of others? Brave people with integrity, Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, Sun Yat Sen for example. Would I speak out? Yes, to answer your question, I already have. Why haven't you? And why hasn't he?

  • he is a greet man !! proud of chinese !:P

  • he's from hong kong not china

  • OMG !!! do u kno who is li ka shing????

he migrate to hong kong coz china was having chaos tat time ...Zzzzz ...

somemore, chinese doesnt mean china ...swt ! :P

  • we from the earth, you apparently not

  • r u idiot? everybody knows hong kong is part of china.

  • r u idiot? everybody knows hong kong is part of china.

  • thats where your wrong china let the British Empire take over Hong Kong, therefore Hong Kong is a separate country and then British Empire left Hong Kong. Its like Gibrilta at the Tip of spain.

  • he's the man

  • He is a little bit better than Lee Siu-kee
