@BlackReaper1972 the design of your rocket might cause them to turn. you can also try to make a launch pad type thing. take like a small straw, glue it to the side of your rocket, then take a 3' rod that fits in the straw and stab it into the ground, this will create a guided takeoff, that might help.

How about the ratio of KNO3/sugar? I tried to make 2:1 but it burn very slowly,taking 30second to finish,but it's 3-4 s on youtube.so the compound is very weak fo lauch the rocket.

Why do you have to drill the rocket many times? I think drilling the bottom bentonite is enough.

You have to buy Potassium Nitrate (In the UK, the only way to get it is online. But in USA, it is sold as Stump remover. Always check the label to see what's inside)

Then mix the P/N with powdered sugar at a 75:25 ratio.

if you can't find the saltpeter/KNO3/potassium nitrate, then try scraping out the head of a few hundred safety matches and using it as the fuel itself. The rocket itself may jolly well explode; the match heads are 50% potassium chlorate!
