  • Quick quick slow is best!

  • Thomas, The 123-567 count helps beginners understand the proper footwork within the music. Usually, the 567 portion of the count becomes most important to a novice because it is where most of the styling moves originate or take place. For this reason, most teachers use the count instead of quick, quick, slow. The count helps to break down new moves into specific counted steps, especially as you move to the intermidiate or advanced levels.

Thanks for your contribution to the salsa commnity.

  • I think this is the best demmo so far I like it and keep posting a very nice work for every one to learn some moves thank you again

  • All dances has 3 basic types of footwork: quicks, slows & pauses. It is my experience that people can pickup and apply quicks and slows easier than counting.

So, I teach differently than many of the instructors for that reason.

    FYI:

Latin music is based on 4/4 timing which has 4 beats per bar of music (not 8). Only dancers will count past 8 because of their patterns. Most people count Mambo as -234-234 which would make since to a musician.

  • is it too much to ask for a 123-567 instead of quick-quick-slow
