  • Great!!!

  • shure could use this video as a comercial for sm57

  • i remember back when Robin and Skye cut their hair, I thought it looked really weird. But now seeing Skye with this hair is just really strange. This song has grown really well as this band has matured in their short history. love it.

  • I want Robin's beard. Not too small, and not so big he looks like he's in a cult. Maybe it is the source of his powers...

  • im 100 years, that basement will be a rape dungeon attraction

  • in 100 years, that basement will be a tourist attraction

  • I saw this on pay tv coz Radiohead was on.I now Also enjoy listening to FleetFoxes.AndrewBbird now thats cool.

  • Their new album isnt as good as their first one.

  • @Cyclopsifications

    It's definitely different.

Their debut is basically a collection of really awesome songs, but Helplessness Blues moves more like a collective; a series of closely related movements. It's not as immediate, but I think it has more depth.

  • Only the best bands play "In The Basement".

  • weird reverb choice

  • Where do these guys live?

  • I feel like I'm watching the folk version of Radiohead's Scotch Mist.

  • i think the mix sounds great

  • fleet foxes fans will like this :)

    /watch?v=mYyP7fHWmJc

  • this is really poorly mixed

  • @swampmusicmusic True, way too much reverb, or at least too long a reverb time.

  • @swampmusicmusic Then you aren't wearing headphones.

  • who disliked it?

  • id be glad if i was just playin guitar for them lol. get to listen to them all dayy

  • bands like fleet foxes, the snake the cross the crown, bon iver and the tallest man on earth makes you wonder: what is my favorite kind of music ?

  • Super song...

  • superb song and performance

  • this band is worringly good.

  • pce :D

  • Wonderful!

There is a Nice female version of this song at icompositions...

  • Wonderful!

  • His voice is quite similar to Jim James from My Morning Jacket, isn't it?

  • @oasisforever00 I've always thought that Fleet Foxes were a mix of My Morning Jacket and Bon Iver

  • @bigal5559 Yeah...another two great bands.

  • 魂が洗われる…。

  • Would you wait for me?...

  • is this guy high? :)

  • this song is soo rad! I'm a Hip Hop guy like 24/7, but I can't stop repeating this song in car

  • Does anybody know what kind of mic that is? I take everything nigel does recording-wise as aboslute-truth and the best possible thing you can do sooooo yea anybody know?

  • @TheGreatKrystoff robin's is just a shure sm57. i'm a gear nut too. in the abbey road videos they all use shure sm7's for their vocals.

  • It's cool but it sounds VERY much like My morning jacket...

  • @lucas0908 you mean early morning jacket?...yeah....pretty much like it but more pastoral like sounding....but yeah they kinda ripped them off in a way

  • To the 3 who disliked this video... We'll find you.

  • "and if they are the good guys" *robin looks over at keyboardist approvingly* lol

  • Fleet Foxes, come to AK!!

  • the reverb and delay they put on his voice is amazing, it makes the track. and adds a very eeery vibe that i DIG. GREAT track!

  • Beautiful music !

  • I love this!

I think I love this badly!

    Fantastic!!

  • this song is amazing! its so powerful and moving, definitely one of their best

  • I would say I like this version a little better then the the album, just because the electric guitar parts sound a little more abrasive/dirty in a good way on this one.

  • i would be so much unhappier if fleet foxes didn't exist.

  • @ellaschierbeck you're a loser.

  • @breekola yes i am, i'm sorry.

  • @ellaschierbeck i'd be musically frustrated with the world.

  • I know a company called Levy's makes guitar straps...maybe look them up on google because it seems like they have designs like Robin's

  • I love his guitar strap, does anyone know where I can find something like it?

  • Oh, that organ has so much soul!

  • YouTube is so bad about bringing out only very positive or very negative feed back. I'm going to offer a balanced view here and say that this is a great song, a good performance, but I prefer the bass line and harmonies on the album.

  • I completely agree with the youtube comment. You either have people saying that it's the best song they've ever heard, or you have a riot of flamers.

  • @sesshomaru322 the real problem probably is that music invokes an emotiona response and emotional responses are hard to put down in words in a nuanced way for most people ;)

  • this album is incredible..i'm so happy i bought it

  • you run with the devil.

  • this song is so epic and heroic!

  • Man, this is awesome.

I find how they break into the chorus in this one more powerful than the recorded version.

  • awesome song, Ive just found this band, damn!! theyre really good!

  • stop drinking bottled water, you!

  • Thanks for posting dude!

  • Absolutely love this...sounds better than the recorded version. I love that open guitar sound, and also the sweet vocals!

  • Fucking brilliant.

Fleet Foxes are up and coming gods.

  • they should make a live record of "from the basement" with them, or better yet make a dvd of every band for each year

  • I could listen to his voice all day—oh wait! I already do.

  • @lizxwiz fleet foxes sucks anyways

  • It's a great song, they are a wonderful band. In my radio shows (Cyprus) i return to them every now and then, very very often...

  • this reminds me of the Beatles studio videos

  • may be intentional..they might as well be walking around in bare feet... but i don't think you could compare them-i think these guys have a very developed image already so that means either they're surrounded by utter pros or they'll be a cult-followed flash in the pan. i hope not.. what a lovely bunch of voices. substantive lyrics.. the descendants of appalachian mountain fiddlers? along with the Horseflies and Nickel Creek..

i could be totally off on that. anyway , i like them.

  • "Who's hasslin' you? The man?" That's funny. I told my dad that this morning. lol

  • Oh my god! this is wonderful!

  • Haha. Love the beginning! Great song.
