  • thumbs up if you'd buy the full OST/DVD of the musical!

  • Linkara brought me here...

  • Batsy to terry "when the musical is ashes ..you've my permission to die"

  • i like how robins played by a girl xD

  • Bruce kind of look like he's watching porn near the end.

  • Somewhere in Hell, Joker is watching this and laughing his ass off as he sings the praises of the writers!

  • i dont know whats more insulting the whole idea or the fact people went to see it and enjoyed it !!!!!!!!

  • @izzdabizz1 Look on the bright side; this was a joke, purposely made to make fun of the Superman musical of the 70s. No one has (to date) had the stupidity (or the lack of enjoyment of life; seriously, Batman fans can get brutal if their idol is in danger of disgrace) to put Batman on Broadway. Spiderman, on the other hand, is now doing the Walk of Shame down the Great White Way.

  • @ztslovebird good point

  • what was the name of this episode?

  • I dunno about you, but I would pay to see this.

  • PAUL DINI,WE LOVE YOU!!!! :D

  • Wow,Bruce Wayne's 80th birthday... "Batman:The Musical" Priceless... :D

  • Thanks for this, thanks for in particular leaving in the scene where Bruce looks at the photos, it gives it a greater context.

    Merry Xmas

  • Looks better than "Spiderman: Turn off the dark"

  • Bruce: "Excuse me, one side please. MOVE!"

  • this batman is much too happy to pass for real. add 50 pounds of muscle and anger and ill give it a passing grade

  • anyone else here from linkara

  • Schwarbage.

The only word to describe this.

  • At least it's better than Spider-Man the Musical.

  • can someone tell me if this guess is right but is conroy voicing the theatre batman?

  • @megas957 Yes

  • @megas957 Yes, his singing voice is that good.

  • Comment removed

  • Seems old Bruce is finding out that the downside of having a secret identity is not being able to sue

  • 0:26 is holding Robin

    0:33 Where did Robin go?

  • i love how they make fun of kevin's famous line in the begining, bruce is

hilarious"you hate me don't you" lol

  • Anybody know which episode this is from?

  • @Lowkeylie "Out of the Past".

  • Love how the first three seconds start off looking epic, then....

  • schwarbage, should be a fad...

  • @lighth4zard is schwarbage just a polite way of saying garbage?

  • @XxUginxX The director (I believe it was in this case anyway) had the last name Schway, so he was just being clever =)

    ish.

  • @mintedsalami the director of this episode?

  • @ssssssssssssssssss50 No,of the musical they are watching.

  • Comment removed

  • ep?

  • @FlyzVo Out of the Past

  • By the way; that chick dressed up as Catwoman is annoyingly hot! XP

  • I first thought this musical piece was from some other show parodying Batman. :P

  • This is what would happen if the people who made the Spider-man musical were allowed to make a Batman musical.

  • Pose at :20 is priceless. Probably what pissed Bruce off the most.

  • If Bruce had seen this when he was still in his prime, he probably would've beaten them all up in his Batman costume and then told them that they were off-key.

  • Batman sure has a thing for raven haired women...

  • "Excuse me... One side please.... MOVE!"

  • *insert obligatory joke about Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark.*

  • Bruce you dirty old man :L

  • *sings* A SUPERSTITIOUS COWARDLY LOT- *batarang'd*

  • poor terry

  • Why kill Terry when he can kill the entire cast?

  • Excuse me.....one side please.....GET THE FUCK OUTTA MY WAY!! LMAO!!

  • Lyrics anyone?

  • which is better? Batman the musical or Batman Brave and the bold's drive us bats?

  • i wonder who's singing

  • @xenohuh7 Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman. Yeah, really.

  • Ahaha, the best part is that Batman's literally described the criminals as "superstitious and cowardly"

  • This is awesome.

    "You hate me, don't you..."

  • this made me laugh so hard!

  • lol...Robins a girl XD

That has got to be the greatest musical since A Very Potter and A Very Potter Sequel...feel for Bruce Wayne though...I would run away as fast I could too.

  • Know what's great? That's actually Batman's voice actor doing the singing.

  • Ah, Bruce going through his fap folder.

  • I personally got a kick out of this. If they did something like this for a real musical (poking fun at it and not taking itself too seriously) I think it might be worth seeing....

  • What Episode is this?

  • i reckon they should finish this musical and release as an extra

  • Ha, that second song reminded me of the Justice League episode where young Bruce teams up with older Bruce. "Are criminals still superstitious and cowardly?" "Yeah." "Good enough for me." =P

  • AHAHA one side please ..MOVE

  • Huh, the Batcomputer has a whole black book of asses that he's tapped.

  • @Dynaman21 He's tapped Lois Lane? What would Superman think?

    "But I'm superman Lois?"

"Exactlyl Clark, he's not faster than a speeding bullet."

  • "Excuse me. One side please. MOVE!!!" I love how with every step his patience quickly decreased. XD Poor Bruce.

  • I guess Wayne will know now what the folks of Gotham really think of him.

  • I wonder what writer came up with this! What makes it more hilarious that Wayne the real Batman is watching this from that perspective! LOL

  • A SUPERSTIOUS COWARDLY LOT!!!

  • If i was bruce, id been offended too!

  • I wonder if Zatanna, Lois Lane, & Selina Kyle are still alive in this era? Zatanna is likely still around, as magic types of her caliber tend to have longer life spans.

  • @WystenDraco Well, I know for a fact that Lois is dead by this point (in the episode with the future Justice League, it's revealed she died 10 years previously, and Superman's grief detached him from humanity).

  • @DCRaider2011

I figured as much but school kept me from watching every ep at the time, and most retail stopped having a wide slection of DVD sets, I only have the first season. Looks like Bruce had one up on Superman there, he was always detached from humanity more often than the others, but the losing your parents like he did would likely do that to anyone. At least Bruce had a father by my standards. I wish my own father had a personality like Bruce's, kindness, understanding, love, etc.

  • Is Kevin Conroy playing the Batman in that musical as well? And singing?!

  • @job489 yup, that's Kevin.

  • @meiriona

WOW! I forget that Kevin can sing. He can sing, Snape from Harry Potter can sing, it makes me wonder what other actors and voice actors out there can sing.

  • I almost forgot that Bruce tapped Lois Lane's ass.

  • "excuse me. one side please. MOVE!" god, ya gotta love Bruce. and i would murder Mcginnis if i were Bruce

  • Bruce Wayne, after being humiliated at the theater, goes home to masturbate to pictures of his old girlfriends.

  • can someone gimmie a basket a tomatoes and tickets to that show! SELLINA, RED, AND I WILL BE AVENGED!!!!!! >:P

  • @TheHarleyQuinn12

Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne thinks the whole thing is "schwarbage." Hmm.

  • Bruce! When will you learn to never leave the theatre in the middle of a performance?! You'll get mugged!

  • @kalifee

guess he wasnt haunted enough by it

  • @kalifee you would think he woulda learned by now

  • Just think. In an alternate universe, Tim Burton could've produced a real life semi-adequately satisfying musical!

  • The only way this would be worse was if R. Kelly was singing about how peaceful Gotham city was.

  • @tbonesfa and then the batsuit will be "Traped in the closet...closet....closet" LOL

  • I think my soul was just ripped in half by the awful.

  • Wow, is that Kevin Conroy showing off his singing talent again? Or for the first time, I guess. (Best example: Am I blue in JLU).

  • I love how Robin is played by a girl XD

  • Ok first off I want to get this out of the way so people don't think I'm being a jerk a. I love the DCAU, and b. This is an awesome musical segment right up there with "Birds of Prey" but one thing bothers me.

Namely 1:08......HOW THE HELL DO THEY KNOW HE SAID THAT WHEN HE FIRST CHOSE HE IDENTITY?! What was the new Batman (Terry?) just happen to be hanging around the script writers and 'suggest' they put it in?

  • @DoctorMorithias Does he say that in "Mask of the Phantasm"? The line "superstitious, cowardly lot" is from the 1939 comic book origin. I think it's been used a couple times in the Animated Series, other than here (not sure about the animated origin), so it's possible he mentioned to someone somewhere and it became a known line of his. Or it's a coincidence.

Or maybe old Dick Grayson is a Hollywood producer (deflecting suspicion with a female Robin!)

  • @TimThomason psshh, they used Jim Gordon's memoirs for the content, I'm sure. Babs would find it hilarious enough to supply.

  • 1:55 Batman you dirty fucker.

  • Wow the budget for the Dark Knight Rises really got slashed

  • OMG CHECK THIS "Cowards are a superstitous cowardly lot" Comes from Detective Comics #33 November,1939

  • @SauskeX4 Also Detective Comics 27. Also every single comic which restates his origin story, with few exceptions.

  • What.....the......fuck was this

  • @SauskeX4 Someone wrote a musical about Batman. Duh.

And if you don't think it's hilarious, you have no sense of humor.

  • It's kinda funny how Robin just disappears during the song...

  • "This is gay." "It's also garbage."

  • yo this is funny and everything but.... did he just activate porn before the vid cut out?

  • @strapinhotpockets He was looking at pictures of his old girlfriends. Zatana, Lois Lane and Catwoman.

  • o -o; i was thinking what will happen if they do that in RL People *look scared* Ugh that will be scary . . .

  • POOR BRUCE!!!

  • noticed how in callign it shwarbage instead of garbage he also changed what terry said to this play is gay

  • He looks slightly similar to the Thrillkiller Batman

  • wheres wonder woman's pic

  • which episode is this?

  • @TooCool1993 this clip is taken from "Out of the past" episode. The birthday and play have Bruce reminiscing about his old flames, as seen in at the end of this clip. Talia Al Ghoul then shows up and offers Bruce the use of the Lazarus pit. I won't ruin the rest of the episode for you.

If you go to Megavideo and type in "Batman Beyond, out of the past", you should be able to view the entire episode as I did two weeks ago

  • @MrStarshine333 i will: it is ras, who has taken over thalias body. and they have sex!

  • you know if they did this after JLU i think they definitely would've put diana in as one of the many important woman in Bruce's Life.

  • oh Bruce, you dirty old man ;)

  • I loved this scene :D

    My favorite episode

  • From the looks of the last scene, I'm guessing he bagged Zatana, Lois Lane, and Catwoman. Busy man.

I'm assuming he didn't like the show.

  • @rubino83 And Batgirl. And the Phantasm. And possibly Wonder Woman.

  • @drumlip Actually, that's Lois Lane. She and Bruce had a thing for each other in World's Finest. Wonder Woman isn't on there because this was made before Justice League Unlimited.

  • @TheoGary I know, I was just adding the girls that didn't make it to his slideshow.

  • @drumlip Ohhh sorry. I missed the post that it was a reply to. I thought you were saying that the picture of Lois was Wonder Woman. My bad. :)

  • If bruce wayne weren't sitting right there, I'd say he's spinning in his grave. Hey, isn't this sung by kevin conroy?

  • Kevin Conroy should really invest in a musical XD Heck, the entire cast should. BECAUSE THEIR SINGING VOICES, JUST YES.

Also, I burst out laughing everytime I see the intro of this. Referencing the Music Meister episode in the Brave and the Bold, musical Batman is ALWAYS a win.

  • love the fact that its the same guy doing the batman voice

  • This is probably inspired by the Superman musical they did in the 60s

  • Oh my bat, I wouldn't of stay after the begin, so bad.

  • From JLU episode "The Once and Future Thing".

Terry: You don't know your way around here.

Batman: Are criminals still cowardly and superstitious?

    Old Bruce: Yup.

    Batman: Good enough for me!

  • Dick Grayson and Tim Drake would have a fit if they saw that the Robin is this musical was a GIRL!!!!!!

Humilating for Bruce? At least he wasn't played by a girl!!!! XD

  • @AlchemyAngelizBack I dunno, Dick would probaably think it funny and make a joke about if his legs looked like that, he'd never have stopped wearing the shortpants costume.

  • batman...batman...baaaat maaan !

  • Though uncredited, Kevin Conroy also provided the voice of his on-stage double. This marks only one of two instances in the DCAU when Conroy has exhibited his fine singing voice, the other being the Justice League Unlimited episode "This Little Piggy."

  • Yeah, I knew I recognized Kevin's voice. Best voice actor in history, along with Mark Hamil. And of course, Arleen Sorkin is the one and only Harley Quinn. They always could pick a perfect cast!

  • lol they screwed up all the villians

  • Ahh, so THIS is why Bruce tried to hide his singing talent.

First he's forced to sing to save Diana, then years later he has to suffer through "Batman:The Musical". (that must be why he looked so depressed when he realized what he had to do--he KNEW this was coming. lol)

  • And yet Bruce managed to keep from killing Terry in his sleep for this? The man's got willpower! ;)

  • *SPOILER*

Well, sorta hard to kill your own son.

  • Clone.

  • Actually, only half of his genetic dna came from Bruce, the other half is his mother's dna.

Therefore making him his son, rather than his clone.

  • Yes, but only dogmatically. Pragmatically, he's more of a clone than a son.

  • @im4400 No, he still a son. Even if was from messing someone gentics.

  • SON!

    Well, sorta!

  • @sunflare2k5 and people wonder why a Bat-lantern would be too ridiculously overpowered for any other possible thing the writers could come up with.

  • @sunflare2k5 but remember, Terry IS Batman at night ;)

  • Schwarbage!

  • @DeadbyDawn87 Schwarbage is right.

  • That must have been the single-most embarrasing moment in Bruce's life.
