  • Ryan Dunn on lead guitar? haha

  • Yay Letterman/NBC liberal cry babies! ....wouldn't be so bad if thy just weren't so blind and ignorant....more concerned with a handout and being lazy and ignorant, dragging down the country....jeez....wake up sleepy heads!

  • he is one of the few performers who can sing anywhere and still sound great

and one of the last true country singers there is

  • this might be my all time favorite country song

  • Hot damn! I just love Jamey Johnson! He has my vote for any office he runs for- Best country singer, Country idol, Best beard... Oh what a voice- he just cuts through the airwaves and makes you want to touch him in awe... Thank you for this beautiful song, courtesy of the "Sweater knittin' fags"... man I love satire, I love this post!

  • is that moose on the left?

  • hes like this generations johhny paycheck .... he always looks sad though

  • The best part, i think, about jamey is that he doesnt need the rest of the band. he can give you chills with just him and his guitar. the rest of the band is just extra.

  • Great job! Man what a awesome country artist he is unique! And yea us red necks listen to this stuff all day every day 24/7 it's who we are!

  • I live in Vicksburg, MS. There are a bunch of rednecks like me and this is the kind of stuff we listen to 24/7. JJ is #1.

  • awful, i had my beard first

  • Incredible songwriter and singer. Great band behind him as well. there are far to few singers like Jamey in todays version of country commercialism Not arguing that Swift and Underwood don:t have talent but please what they sing is pop and certainly NOT country.

  • Listening to this guy's great voice gave me chills. Haven't had music do that since Bocephus and the Possum started doing it back in '79. I know JJ appeared on that ass wipe letterman's show to futher his career, but he should have went elsewhere that night....like Leno. Those homos and sweater knitters in that ass wipe letterman's audience don't appreciate talent.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Actually letterman is a friend of jameys and jamey has commented several times that letterman has spoke out he should be more recognized and bocephus and the possum have been doing it since about 59

  • @waycephus623 I know how long Bocephus and Possum have been doing it. I said I haven't had music give me chills since "79. I can't hear anyone before I am old enough to appreciate it. When it comes to Bocephus and Possum, rest assured lol, I know their careers. Actually Bocephus started touring in 1957 and Possum started in 1956. But, regardless of who knows who....Letterman is still an asswipe and his audience is mostly a bunch of sweater knitting fags. But, thanks for your "information."

  • This guy is talent,He is pure genius! Best songwriter to come along in 30 yrs! Nashville can Kiss his Ass!Any of you nashville croonies told to wear cowboy hats,And you know who you are!Ever get a chance to have him write a song for you,you better take it! No matter what the cost!Just to have his name on your album is more cool than you will ever be!

  • reminds me of skynrd, they don't change who they r to become famous

  • This is real country!! No taylor Swift here

  • this man is the next legend todays country sucks well all but his and Randy H

  • @hankjr1

As in Randy Houser? Pretty weak/watered down in my opinion. Not even in the same league as Hank Jr and Jamey at least. Check out some Stoney Larue.

  • E real country song gives you chills.... This does... Going to see him sunday at house of blues....

  • @gblackmon yeah your right definately got the chills watchin this

  • This is a bad ass song one of those tonsil tuggers lol!

  • One of the best songs out there as well as one of the best country songwriter/acts out there, and these people on the late show give some half assed cheer at the end... now if iwas lady gaga or some other faggot shit like that they'd be pissing in their pants....JAMEY YOU ROCK KEEP IT UP

  • These guys look like they're mere inches from Rockin' Out!!!

  • For some reason it seems like he tries to hard to do his drawl when he sings, only in the studio versions though. His live stuff is incredible

  • Do you think Hank done it this way?

  • REAL COUNTRY MUSIC>>>>>BOUT TIME

  • He is country I will give him that. Him, Alan Jackson and George Strait are about all that's left of country music. What a shame for someone like me who grew up listening to Merle, George and Waylon.

  • @cowboyfan1113 Who do you think wrote george straits songs? Not george, its that guy right up there. Jamey Johnson.

  • @BigBrianx He did not write all of george straits songs!!! I never said anything against him anyways, he is a good singer. He is not Waylon or Merle........not even close but he is good. Dean Dillon has wrote more of Straits hits than JJ. Believe me man, I was country when country wasnt cool.

  • his voice is classic! real country for sure

  • Best country music artist out there today. Oh, did I mention REAL country???

  • I love his smile in this.. And that's my fave song!

  • I really like this Song! I'll have to put him up their with Josh Turner and Charlie Danial's. In my view that puts him in good company!

  • Jamey Johnson is a true bad ass of country and future legend!

  • you kick ass jamey

  • and brought a steel guitar back to nashville also!

  • Thank you Jamey. You know, "between Jennings and Jones" ain't a bad place to be. God bless.

  • Thanks Jamey Johnson for bringing back real country!

  • there is a reason why he won the award cause he was the only real country star there besides george strait. all the rest were pop.

  • THE REAL DEAL.

  • NYC ? Great job, great song. This is COUNTRY, POP country can eat a dick.

  • 100 percent correct finally some new artist in country i can listen to. good lord my sister listens to swift and every time she puts it on i think pop. know jamey is real 100 percent true blue traditnal grass roots country. keep goin JJ give em hell

  • so hot!!

  • Easily the best country song in recent memory!

  • Tells a great story!!

  • Can't get more real than that. Country rocks my socks :]

  • YOU DA MAN JAMIE' YOU DA MAN!

  • luv this man..luv his music

  • yea this is how country used to sound...this guy here is destined for legendary status imo....

  • I'm not a huge country fan by any means but jamey Johnson is the real deal!!! This is a great song!!! Roll tide by the way he's from Alabama also!!!!

  • the guitarist to the left of Jamey looks like Ryan Dunn with longer hair

  • as far as Im concerned jamey is the only real country music artist out there a true story teller and a good ole boy who has been through the shit... I hope to see more people like him coming out of the works it shouldn't matter what the singer looks like he or she just needs to have soul and know what they are singing about.. I'll drink a beer and toast to jamey and his achievments... take note ... one of the greats right here

  • ya might wanna check out HANK 3

  • One of the very few true country men out there. And also one of the very few songs that can impact almost everyone in any genre of music. theres even some pop stars that rave about how good this song is. amazing.

  • I had the privilege of meeting Jamey when he sang @ a local bar. He was a nice guy and stood around signing autographs for the longest time. I never thought I would let anyone sign my cowboy hat, but I let him.

  • I'm surprised a record label took a chance with him since he doesn't look like Kenny/Brad/Keith, etc.

Yeah, he looks more like a biker than those country cross-over purty boys, but I'm glad people are LISTENING to him, rather than screaming about how "hot" he is.

  • he did have a clean cut look a few years ago when he got his fist record deal, after he and the wife went thru hell and split he he let the hair go and wrote some of the best COUNTRY music to come our way since Waylon himself was around,he also had some of his songs recorded by other artist that were hits befor you heard of him. He is the REAL DEAL for Country Music.can't wait to see were this ole boy goes.....

  • in my opinion when he and his wife split he went through a phase like waylon did in the 70s. man this guy can sing cant get enough of him!

  • Love this guy!!! Thank you Jamey! NEVER stop doing what you are doing!! Country is not dead as long as you keep writing and singing the way you do!!

  • I love Jamey Johnson and all outlaw country....but I can't stand this wannabe country pop music now. Keep up the good work Jamey!

  • this is probably why i watch letterman rather than conan obrien.

  • last comment... im not saying jamey is one of those artists... he's the real deal, giving me hope for "outlaw" country music to come back.

  • Maybe Toby has a little help now, grew up on Waylon, Hank Jr., George S., born and raised in the same town as Keith Whitley. Hopefully there will be a revival of vocals and not strawberries and cream.

  • Did you really put Toby Keith in with these people???? I like Toby, but he is a very watered down version of outlaw country. Toby is just a tad above Rascal Flatts and a long, long way from Waylon. (That might be a good song, you all can use it)

  • agreed, Toby Keith's name shouldn't be associated with Waylon, Hank, or George. TK=Nickelback of country...dumbed down for the masses.

  • haha! I just might mess around w/ some lyrics for a song like that! I'm not an artist, or a writer, but I'll see if I can get something going off of that! Sounds like a good outlaw country/southern rock/ don't give a shit what anyone thinks kinda song!

  • I never ever liked country all my life.. Last night I went to a Jamie johnson concert and now I really like it cause jamie was simply amazing on stage and his voice was awesome!! Is there any other country good out there like Jamie?

  • listen to some waylon jennings, merle haggard, george jones, willie nelson, and hank jr...

  • btw you probably haven't liked country music because nashville puts out these pop stars that call themselves "country artists"... country music went downhill after garth came along.

  • AMEN to that!!!! They all sound the same with their electric banjo sound. I am so tired of "new country" I can barly stand it. I promise you this, If we don't start supporting these type of artist, that real country sound will die. Women get hot and bother when Kenny Chesney comes on stage, and they buy the heck out of his music. This makes him popular and then we have to keep listening to him!! AHHHHHH. GIVE ME REAL COUNTRY!!!

  • Just one thing...THANK GOD!!! Finally, the REAL deal...AWESOME

  • He's hiding how hot he is with that beard...I have such a huge crush on him no matter what though!

  • Tough to hear this and know the same hand penned this as the one that wrote honkey tonk badonkadonk...

But yeah this guy is the real deal, no shit..

  • Finally a pure country tune, no frills, bout damn time. This song tears me up everytime I hear it. It gives me chills and not many songs do that anymore. The true song writers and singers of the past would be proud.

  • If you like him check Dale Watson.

  • I have seen Dale play many times at Jenny's Little Long Horn in Austin, TX. That is a great time to be had. Sunday afternoon with Dale and Chicken Sh_t bingo. It dosn't get any better than that!!

  • Jamey Johnson is the best country singer no doubts about it

  • jamey kicked ass here in georgia sat night it was great show at wild bills.I will go see him every times he comes to town.He jamsreal country music and has a great band.

  • best beard my ass ....have a look at DAC...thats david allen coe for the fucks that dont know

  • but you are a true bad ass jamey johnson rock the fuck on

  • Pure talent REAL COUNTRY not that bull shit on the radio. The new outlaw!!Fuck you Ajbadboy252 your a fuckin idiot maybe he likes it.You must not play guitar.Go get keith urbans album fag.

  • god he is hot maybe its just me

  • The Farm Aid version is a great raw pickin' version that I really love....but how come his vocals here are stellar, and on the Farm Aid version he sounds horrible and out of tune?

  • i am from the north originally. i appreciate the best of both worlds but it is sad, the north expects nothing more from the south than to be local yocals. it is clear that david and paul are ill prepared to deal with a music or custom that is truly foreign to them. i might say jamey johnson might appear a fish out of water but is actually dave and paul who are uncomfortable.

  • AJBADBOY252 you f#$&@n moron. Ever heared of JIMI HENDRIX. Look him up you dumb AS%. Just in case your lazy ass doesn't want to Jimi Hendrix is a legend who yes was left handed and yes used a right handed guitar. hmm all that money and cant get a left handed guitar. Thats cause he doesnt need one yet, his old one still works just fine. What the f&#K has this country came to. Un-educated morons everywhere. SHUT THE F&%K UP!

  • AJbadBoy 252 have you ever thought that maybe thats how he learned how to play the guitar maybe there wasnt a lefty just lying around, you learn with what you got and making a switch like that is a hard thing to do if you play a guitar(witch im guessn you dont BADBOY) picture the strings reversed and besides im sure Wade plays a hell of alot better than you .obviosly look where he's at, Have some respect for country you city slicker.

  • I think your mistaking pure talent for idiocracy

  • ajbadboy252 were is your band playing tonight and how is the catering ? yes that is sarcasm you non guitar playin judgemental f@#k stick.

  • that's probably how he learned to play you dope. he probably didn't have a left-hander available.

  • Thats right! Jimmy Hendrix played like that too - you work with what you have.

  • you're both right...His name is Wayd Battle playing the upside down guitar left handed. I used to play gigs with him about 8 years ago. Just me and Wayd and our guitars..He is one talented dude.

  • THE MAN!

  • Finally a writer starts singing. Its like J.J. Cale on stage. You wrote it so sing it.

  • Awesome

  • Jamey Johnson rocks! The breath of fresh air this genre has been needing for a long time.

  • i have met the steel guitar player at church. he taught my entire praise band how to read the number chart, all because the lead player (the one with the upside down guitar) played in our band.. Wayd Battle. Great GUYS!!! Both of them

  • The Legendary Cowboy Eddie Long on steel guitar ladies and gentleman. One of, if not the best steel player in the business.

  • That may be your brother on keys, but you can bet your sweet *ss that's me on steel !!...lol Cowboy

  • HELL YES~

  • Thats my Bro....

    John Scott playin the Kurtzwell.

  • thanks BJ & my Dickson Tn. family

  • Sounding good my Brother!

Gotcha 100 next time I see ya.

    later-

    Kyle
