  • @luccaskunk You obviously don't own a DeLorean, or very familiar with the car. Even with no weather stripping on the doors it doesn't leak because there are channels to carry the water away. Also the underlying body is fiberglass.

  • Love the techno! sorry it truly is the most futurist form of music...............

  • can this thing travel in time?

  • Love your video. Thank you for sharing. Tried to post a video response of my DeLorean video, hope you accept.

  • Cool commercial! Of course, the music is God awful, but the video is good.

  • Yeah i heard rumors about an electric DeLorean too. Pretty epic i have to say. Finally an electric car that doesnt look like an elephant turd.

  • wait, i thought they only made deloreans in 1985

  • @sneadrecords They did, but you can still buy refurbished ones.

  • Legal

  • Awful music.

  • @thecottontop

THEN WHY ARE YOU LOOKING THIS AWESOME CAR UP ON YOUTUBE YOU DUMB BUTT

  • DeLorean "mood board"

    /watch?v=MWEkCTIxkts

A mood-board is a sketch that describes tempo and music often done before storyboarding a spot to establish goals and tone. Try one sometime before throwing crap on the wall to see what sticks.

  • You know just because you have something on your iTunes playlist, doesn't mean it fits the car or the moment.

Hint the car is from the 80s. You start there. Not some rave shit.

  • crap music

  • That music is horrible...you should replace it with either The Power of Love or Back in Time.

  • The music just doesn't work for this. Sorry.

  • funny, cuz DMC went out of business in '83

  • @nitromaniac991 No, DMC Texas is revived and currently repairs original DeLoreans and makes replicas, as well, with plans for an all electric DeLorean. Think before being a smartass.

  • @austins830 replicas. not the original car. repairs. not the original cars. and an electric delorea i admit sounds neat, but its still NOT THE ORIGINAL CAR. think before being a smartass. :)

  • @nitromaniac991 By any chance, would you happen to know what the replicas are made out of? Oh, that's right, ORIGINAL parts bought from the factory in Ireland.

  • I don't think anyone gives a shit anymore.

  • the first half with the car in the reflection of the windows was cool. and the title cards didn't look fake. not bad.

  • I seriously want one now...music was shitty but so what...was too busy drooling over the car.

  • Great video if muted

  • The opening is great. Shows the car...but not fully. The edits are nice. The graphics work too. But, as many have said, the music isn't "right" and a bit too loud. You are on the right track, but that cut seems too harsh.

..And when you show the full car at :16, I'd have continued to insert the bits with it passing in front of the windows or more graphics. Never give the viewer a full shot of the car, and what you DO show, blur slightly. But a good effort to be proud of....

  • I sprayed painted my blue, put a big ass spoiler and 20 inch rims.

  • that music is terrible

  • GONNA BUY ONE

  • do not dig the music what so ever. gives it too much of a fast and furious feel. not DeLorean music lol

  • could you have more annoying music? you could have put on something from BTTF that wuld have made it loads better

  • okay, I have a question to ask... why does the delorean look different everytime i see it? in some other videos, it looks awkward.. but in this video, it looks absolutely fine.. is it coz of the camera ur using? because the car in this video looks very good, its more emphasized in the front and the car looks to be "lower" and "sharper"compared to other deloreans...

  • I think that everything is ok in this commercial, it´s diferent and it could be best accepted in the 90´s. the music is techno industrial, open your minds!

  • whats up with the gay shuffle music?

  • Dayton,

cool i was born in cincinnati

  • its a kinda Bruno`s music))))

  • They have a 2011 model coming out this summer totally redesigned

  • Great job!!!

  • does this model include a flux compaciter and does it go 90. If so, I'm in!

  • Music is horrible mate... wow!

  • Didn't know they had gabber in the US!

  • that would be bad if DMC went back into production

  • I would consider buying one, but its 2011 and its a 30+ year design. To attract money then its 2011 spec should be higlighted. Such as the VW do with the golf adverts, blend old romance of the original but let you know its a car for today's roads. I don't know if the car is identical or internally is more reliable and robust. The advert says nothing. There is a demand for retro but with modern technology and safety.

  • @chipmano its just an original delorean , not a new model...

  • This commercial is great: i wanned to have DL, and i now i dont...

  • Does this car actually run?

  • It's the best car ever but the music sucks...

  • Terrible music, please change it so it fits to the car :) And you have no filmed material of the gullwing doors? :/

  • OMG delorean has new front skirts

     I NEED ONE

  • Needs some Huey Lewis and The News!

  • Put in Power of Love when you redo this

  • You need to switch out the music. It's like a random barfing of synth effects.

  • music is 100% terrible it better without it should be something easy like classic music

  • i love music how did u do those titles?

  • shitty music...

  • The only song to fit this car is Back In Time by Huey Lewis & The News

  • They should use this in their new commercials! I thought the music fit in perfectly.

  • how much does it cost to get a flux capacitator?

  • @DrSurprise $49.95, look it up.

  • Nice video, but bad music.

  • this appeals to the jersey shore type.

  • NO!

  • are thay making new ones or just fixing old ones

  • I had a delorean once. As long as it gets an acceptable engine, in terms of hp performance, it could be a great car that lasts forever- you have to keep having the chassis coated with epoxy every once in a while though.

  • breakcore + delorean = massive win

  • Good speedcore is a good speedcore.

  • the music just kills me

  • Sorry, verry annoying

  • My GOD, that music could be played over loudspeakers as a torture or siege technique.

  • Great job!

  • Whoa............ Cool!

  • this car is a peac of art not a low rider

  • very cool. i was looking for a modern delorean commercial and found it here.

  • If you want a real good commercial, then you need the car traveling through time. You know? With the fire trails, the Mr. Fusion, and the Part 2 DeLorean itself.

  • Even by today's standards the DeLorean is an awesome looking car. Nice commercial.

  • Just the music. And if you do change the music, please don't put BTTF music.

  • music is horrible.... sorry....

  • @Wyrehedd242 i follow you ...

  • /sign

  • The music dont fit the car...

  • oh god the music

    D:

  • Yeah, I'm a huge fan of the DeLorean and hope to own one some day... But this commercial makes me less apt to buy one- I can only imagine what it does to non-DeLorean enthusiasts. Everything about the commercial is just awful.

  • The feedback so far has been mixed, although limited.

What do you dislike about the commercial? The camerawork/visuals? The editing? The music? The graphics? The concept?

In specific terms, how would you improve it?

  • Well... I'll come back to this when I have more time, but first off is the music, which does not suit the video at all. Secondly, it doesn't feature the gullwing doors even once, which is the key feature of the DeLorean. I don't really like the mirrored effect off the storefronts, either. I'm not sure I like the 'same spirit, new life' concept. That's mostly critical, and doesn't offer any solutions. I'll think this over and come back to post more that offers actual resolution ideas.

  • Thanks so far! Unfortunately, I can't re-shoot it, but I can change the music and the graphics.

  • Okay.. After watching a few more times, I noticed there is one split-second fade in/fade out that actually has the driver's side gullwing raised, but not the passenger's side. If you have any clips of both raised, it'd be nice. And the reflection scenes actually aren't so bad on second look, I think the overwhelming music just tainted it for me. Personally, I'd retool it around the idea that back in '81, there were a lot of silly fads. It's nearly 30 years later, and DeLoreans are still cool

  • Maybe something like...

In 1981, I wanted 3 things. (First Line)

    An Atari (Second Line)

One of those massive 19" color TVs (Third Line)

    And a DeLorean.

I'd probably utilize the reflection footage here, but with drastically retooled music. Something subtle...

Then: I still want a DeLorean.

Then utilize the rest of your stock footage of the parked car... I might go with one longer shot as opposed to all the fade-in and fade-out shots that don't give a good look at the vehicle

  • Cool idea. I'm not sure how I'd do it without reshooting, though--I only have the reflections and the shots of the parked car. Your idea goes for the comedic angle ("the 80s were full of stupid things, ha ha, but not the DeLorean"), whereas I was going for the Wow angle ("guess what, they're still making this awesome car that you thought was history"). Maybe I'll make my next ad a funny one!

About the music: Do you think I should keep the electronic sound or go for a different approach?

  • @Shakemouthdirector Use an 80's sound track, with a happy swing to it. (e.g. Genesis - invsible touch or Phill collins - sussudio) - the rest of the commercial is fine though. Just change the music.

  • @No1ButUPokah

You can buy a brand new one for $57,500 US. The new DeLorean Motor Company is geared up to make about 24 a year.

  • @No1ButUPokah the alloy used for the body actually warps when exposed to intense sunlight. This in turn means that the air/water tight seals on the doors ends up failing when it rains. This wouldn't be a problem except for the gullwing doors. You basically end up with Niagra Falls inside your car. Sure you could hammer the warp out but the body will rust if you use a mild steel hammer. It's just not worth it unless you live either in the desert or a mild climate that doesn't get very hot.

  • @No1ButUPokah That's why one would never really see many DeLoreans running around. Because of that whole problem with the warping body.

  • I LOVE this car! I would be happy just to SEE one!

  • If you go to your local DeLorean Club's homepage, you might be able to get in contact with somebody who is willing to show you the car, or find out when the next DeLorean convention near you will be.

  • What is the local DeLorean Club's homepage for Dayton, Ohio?

  • I don't know off-hand...a quick google or Bing search would tell you though.

  • Nicely put together but the music does not suit at all.

  • Thanks for the feedback!

  • I like the music...well done.

  • i dont like the music, it is not in dmc style at all.

this is NOT the fast and the furious.

  • huh? what are they advertising?

  • Oops...apparently my copy is unclear. I'll revise it and post a follow-up. Thanks for the feedback!
