  • This must be what he was referencing when he said the first place they did this song was in Philly. Didn't realize it was so long ago.

  • My choir sings this and like a ship that's tossed and driven in a melody!

  • Thank-you Jesus

  • Thank u Lord!

  • this song got me through some hard time growing up just knowing that with Christ I can do all things helps me to go on!!

  • Doe's Hezekiah have a twin brother, right there behind him?

  • Gerald on the drums!

  • Love this dearly but, why is the volume so low?

  • at 3:54 on the original track he should have said the words : through hard trials, tribulations, persecution I need to beg for, sink or swim if I die I'll make it.

  • THe drummer is killing it...LOL

  • Wow...thing is; " I didn't know Hezikiah was singing...LOL @FreLil77 I love how responded to the 'insult." Stay blessed

  • WOW, this is old! They are dressed like the SANCTIFIED used to dress. I miss those days. Too many sex symbols in the church now trying to make a statement. lol Where did the standard go? lol Sang Hez!

  • @suenelson1024 That is so true now they show too much skin.

  • Singing from the heart !

  • Ha!!!! I think FRELI77 cleared that up. LMAO

  • Real singing... BEFORE Auto-tune.

  • I have anxiety disorder and i listen to this song whenever I feel overwhelmed because I know that God didn't give me a spirit of fear.

  • WOW! Who found this one. I remember watching this video when they first aired it. I used to have on VHS and I watched it often. Again...WOW!!!!!

  • b0y he looked s0 young. i guess dis is da original version without john p kee

  • @coolkeith08 There's only ONE version of this song, and that's this one with Hez'!. John P. just wanted a taste 20 years later.

  • i like the version of this with john p kee

  • what was monique going thru?

  • monique walker yes!

  • @observerfromthenible - The song begins, "I was down to my last dime, but JESUS stepped in right on time." So I must ask, how is your statement relevant?

  • @FreLi77... Thanks for breaking it down. My friends would describe me as a strong woman of God, but I'll be the first to say that God gets the glory. Something happened a few yrs back that almost knocked me off course. God's word was the only thing powerful enough to lift me up out of that slump. This song was one of the few that I had to sing and believe by faith because it didn't feel like I would make it. But just like you said, it was all God. I praise Him for inspirations such as these.

  • @ObservefromtheBible Point taken but if you listened to the words, it says - I was down to my last dime, but JESUS stepped in, right on time. I "sure" been sick, and I couldn't get well, but HE healed my body, and I can tell that it's alright now - think I'll make it anyhow" - - This is NOT an ambiguious song. It's very clear who is getting the glory out of this song - -GOD is. The reason we can make it is because God is keeping us.......come on man, let's not be soooo deep that we drown.

  • @FreLi77 Amen to that bro!!!!!

  • @FreLi77 always somebody trying to hate. they hear what they want to hear.

  • @FreLi77 preach!!!

  • @FreLi77 I know this was a long time ago, but they obviously weren't listening to the words.

  • @klp386 Obviously!! LOL! God Bless U!

  • @FreLi77 Thats good..."do deep that we drown." love it.

  • @ObservefromtheBible Wow dude...you missed the entire point of the song...he said I promised the Lord, down on my knees if he helped me please....Smh....I see if this was a commisioned or BeBe CeCe Winans song where the subject matter of the song can be a person or God but this song is uplifting and clearly gives God the glory and the struggles we face daily as a christian in this world...

  • @ObservefromtheBible This is why it is so IMPORTANT to "observefromthebible" The Lord is given all the praise in this song. We as christians have to careful not to become judgmental of others in our opinions...be blessed brotha

  • @ObservefromtheBible sometimes you just have to sing...no matter who likes it, or who doesn't. this would be the song of the week for me. anyway you must not have been listening very well to the song.

  • @ObservefromtheBible so deep that you drown. heeheehee. To God be the Glory

  • @ObservefromtheBible Where I feel you on the ambiguities of today's so-called gospel music, don't forget the scriptural principles found in the old testament where David encouraged himself in the LORD. Isaiah prophesied of the Messiah that He would not fail either. There is nothing ambiguous about encouraging yourself in the LORD. It could have focused more on why we're making it, which is because of what GOD has done.

  • Love this song i grew up on the one ft. john p kee though.. lol! But i dont understand y they were surrounded by other choirs????

  • I had this special on VHS and have NO clue where it is. Thanks so much for posting this! I watched it all the time.

  • They look good and saved!! lol..Yes Bishop Walker!!!!

  • He has definitely gotten better since then

  • oh no way, it was better back then!! back then it was pure Holiness 100 %!! ;)

  • If it's Holiness involved, it's doesnt matter how the singing sounds...as long as Jesus is in it.

"Jesus went to calvary to save a wretch like you and me; that's love.

They hung Him high they stretched Him wide, He hung His head and then He died; that's love.....?

  • Lord Jesus, Gerald Heyward blazed this song!!!!!!

  • It's not Gerald Heyward on the drums. It's Jeff Davis playing the drums. Jeff Davis taught many of the church drummers in New York.

  • o my God, what are u talking about???? this is Gerald playing. Gerald Heyward is hezekiah's first drummer!!!! jeff didnt start playing with hez until the atlanta album!!!

  • To bigspot27:

You're right. I think it is Gerald and not Jeff Davis on the drums.

  • do your research bruh!! besides do hear his foot, jeff's foot is not fast like that!!!

  • that was cute wat him and monique did when she said if i cant run then i will walk..... she is COGIC all the way lol.....INSTITUTIONAL FOR LIFE

  • I still have my cassette copy from the late '80's. You are going to have a hard time getting this on cassette or CD. Matter of fact I do not think they made this on CD, unless it was a remake.

  • Where did you find the original. I've been looking for it everywhere. Someone please tell me how I can get it. This is what you call church. :)

  • I have the original on tape. OMG, remember the song "the storm will pass"... I need to find that tape...

  • what was the original cd this came on. and what album was the lord will make a way somehow...what year did it come out

  • this song brings tears to my eyes

  • I used to sing this with the youth choir at the former church my daddy pastored...I LOVED THIS SONG! It was and still is a personal testimony to me...I am gonna make it!!!I feel a shout coming on!

  • Why hasn't anyone said anything about Monique @ 4:29 and the "step" @ 5:06? Great seeing all the ORIGIONAL members... Dionne, Marechelle, Diane, John, Fred, Glenda... esp Tyree and Ray (R.I.P.)

  • Aron Hall is also singing in the choir.

  • Thanks for posting this. I think I was fresh out of high school when I first heard this. This is the song that put Hezekiah Walker on da map in Chicago! I'm guessing this came out like in 1985 or 1986? And I love the remake that was done too! A great song of encouragement! Yes!, It's alright now. I'll make it!

  • They blew the dust off this song a few months ago on the radio.

  • wow the old wilmington chester with the founder,

  • THIS IS MY JAM He got John K. Pee helping him sing it on Cd now

  • kee not pee

  • LOL. Its John P. Kee

  • Won't nothing better than the North-South connection between Pastor Hez and Pastor Kee. It seems like their styles are different, yet they blend together and sound perfect. I wonder if Pastor Hez would do a song with the New Life Community Choir?

  • pardon me, but cd was this from besides the live at radio city album?

  • This was from their very first project, which was called "I'll Make It". It is currently out of print (which is why so many were excited it was remade for radio city). At that time they were signed to Sweet Rain, which was a local label in Philly.

  • only if hez owned the master's/ but i got both lp's

  • u have the originals??? man i have been looking 4 a song from that cd "Spirit". u think i can get a copy of that? if so i'll give u my email & u can email it 2 me!

  • yeah but it's going to cost u. not much but holla at me. i'll u both lp's for $25

  • I have the song "Spirit" and another Hezekiah Walker & LFCC song, "You Must Be Born Again" uploaded on my blog, gospelmusicfillup. blogspot. com for you to listen to.

  • They did a remake with John P. Kee but nobody wants the remake. The original is the classic we want to hear.

  • you outcha mine

  • @Stefan990 sweetrain holds the rights to the orginal recordings of alot of the older stuff and they went out of business here in philly and alot of great music was lost.

  • this from hist first lp. i'll make it.

  • Oh my God, the wonderful thing though is that the new school Overseer Walker is more powerful than the ole school "hez" (as you call him).

  • Yes I agree, and that's how it's supposed to be. All of the good and bad only fine tuned him to be the awesome minister he is today. Go Hez, dag I love this song!

  • Hez said... I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT I GOT THE HOLY GHOST! Alright now thats ole school Hez right there!
