  • Wallace's reference to bushes bipartisan commission made a mistake and everything they concluded based on their mistaken is also mistaken. and every reference relying their findings is also mistaken.

Wallace's argument is built on a house of cards.

  • Profanity is the surest signs of unintelligence. If you have never read from what I can tell the material associated with The FairTax. The FairTax would strength the middle class and the lower class and bring jobs back to the US.

  • You SHOULD recognize Fairtax as a fucking ball of shit without a committe tellling your dumb fucking ass.

Here is some clues its pure fucking bullshit.

    1) It pretends to get most of its revenue FROM the government by taxing the government a sales tax.

So tell me -- how many countries on fucking earth tax their own government to get most of their money?

    2) They will put the HIGHEST SALES TAX ON EARTH - but prices will go DOWN.

  • Wow a commission appointed by bush I trust them. You have swayed me now.

  • Power to the people my ass dumb fuck.

Fairtax is a fucking farce -- its a fucking pile of shit. These fuckers have a MASSIVE new tax on cities and states dumb fuck. They hide that in the fine print dumb fuck.

Fairtax math is BASED on getting this massive tax FROM the government. ITs that fucking bogus.

Fairtax won't even have a hearing under oath dumb fuck, cause they KNOW its pure fucking bullshit.

Yes, revenue would drop like a rock dumb fuck, you got that right.

  • I'm sure we'll all take your word for it you sound like a respectable jackass.

  • I will tell you whats funny -- Fairtax pretending the government can pay itselt 1.5 trillion dollas by making the government write itself checks for sales taxes on things it buys.

Do you ever fucking wonder why Fairtax avoids congressional hearings?

DO you ever fucking wonder why no major corporation -- in 13 years -- has said one nice word about this plan?

Here is a clue - real economist know this is a fucking joke -- and that's why it has gone into a shit hole.

  • no it never makes it to the floor becuse it puts too much power in the peoples hands, if the government dose something we dont agree with all we have to do is stop buying things, government revenues would drop like a rock, thats why it never makes it, there more money in taking what we earn than what we spend, and they know that, now our government is so massive, it will never happen

  • The Fairtax is a bunch of crap, and it's own leaders know it. Its dead -- its fizzled out ----except for a few goonie dumb asses.

The only fucking way Fairtax numbers "work" you dumb ass, is if Fairtax can create 1.5 trillion dollars out of thin air, by pretending to tax the government.

Thats exactly what the Fairtax does -- look at Fairtax Book, page 148 "The federal government will become a MAJOR taxpayer"

Fairtax is not going anywhere. Its dead.

    Google Fairtax absurdity.

  • Wallace didn't correct Huckabee on anything. The commission Wallace cites did not do an apples-to-apples evaluation of the FairTax. It's very easy to come up w/different #'s on the FairTax when you completely & fundamentally change its constructs.

Rothbard says it best, "It is no crime to be ignorant of economics...but it is totally irresponsible to have a loud & vociferous opinion on economic subjects while remaining in this state of ignorance."

  • Fairtax is pure BS -- what part of Fairtax pretends to get 1.5 trillion in sales tax FROM the government, by a TAX on the government.

If you can make the federal government pay a sales tax - why not make it an income tax? Make government just pay itself an income tax. Its exactly as rational.

  • BD, thank you for showing us all the error of our ways!

LOL...your tactics are so transparent it's laughable. It's 1 thing not to support the FairTax, but there are only 2 reasons to blatantly lie about it...either you are completely ignorant of the topic, or you benefit from the current corrupt system & are frightened beyond belief @ what the FairTax represents. If your reason is the former, study up - you'll thank yourself. If it's the latter, your bound for disappointment.

  • Funny how this video cuts off before Huckabee can respond and tell Wallace why what he said is wrong.

  • Dont believe a fuching word this shit saleman says.

Fairtax only works if its possible to make the government pay over a trillion dollar in sales tax -- TO ITSELF.

IF that doesnt fucking work --- and it doesn -- the Fairtax is pure bullshit.

Fairtax is a magic fucking pony that shits gold. It pure bullshit.

Yes it sounds great - -but real math shows a national sales tax to replace all others would be OVER 60%.

    Not fucking 23 ding bat.

It only 23 if gov can pay itself.

  • BullshipDetector probably works for the IRS and don't want to lose his job. He likes taking your money and getting paid to do so.

  • why did you cut the video off??? huckabee comes back and corrects wallace

  • Which hurts more: I have $100 and pay 23% of that on goods or you have $1000 and spend 23%? All things considered, you still end up with more money than I do and I am actually hurt by paying the same tax rate as someone who has much more of a "comfort zone" to begin with.

  • The end up with more money because they made more money. When you make more money than you do today, you too will end up with more money. The prebate that everyone gets is a much larger % to your income than it is to the rich man's also. The rich guy just paid 10 times more than you in taxes. The FairTax will give you more money. When you buy a used car, you pay nothing in taxes on it.

  • But the reality is this: 23% tax on a good bought by someone who makes $28,000 a year (a recent college graduate for example) impacts the wallet more than a 23% tax on a good bought by someone who make $2,000,000. 23% with less money to begin with = less money to spend on other goods.

  • Come on.. You didnt give huckabee a chance to respond.

He has said it is 23%.

  • Interestingly, a person who makes $2,000,000 a year gets taxed 27% of their income. A person who makes $20,000 a year gets taxed only 17% of their income.

A Fair Tax is nothing but a Flat Tax; except, it gives Wall Street and Business Fat Cats a method of hiding their income from being taxed. By investing their income, they never pay their share of the tax.

Furthermore, people who don't have incomes (homeless etc) now have to pay a tax. They won't get rebates due to a lack of address.

  • Homeless don't by products to begin with. But the working poor with addresses will get the rebate on essential products such as produce. people will be more likely to save money since the price of goods will increase, creating a more stable society and market place. And above all, the government will stop stealing your money every April 15. People now have more control over their own income. And once people realize the stability of the system it will be easy to privatize social security.

  • Fairtax is a farce, a complete bullshit farce. For example, the tax rate would have to be at least 57% -- according to independent studies by leading economist. Thats a 57% tax on cancer surgery, on nursing home patients, even on rent and insurance premiums.

Yes --the idiot farce would tax all medical cost, all rent, all insurance premiums.

How the hell would the parents of a child with leukemia pay 60,000 in sales tax on their 150,000 dollar medical bill.

    Its just goofy as hell.

  • His response to Huckabee was incorrect and Huckabee's response was cut out. Hmmm... perhaps this comes from an IRS employee?

  • HAHA! Smackdown on Huckabee. He's the only Republican loony enough to support the Fair Tax.

  • We did not hear his response!

  • The queer bank who put up this video is a moron. He/she didn't show Huckabee's reasoning after the other guy on fox spoke. This must be a Hillary fan.

  • Don't you see that this really only benefits the wealthy lobbyists and upper class from paying those high income and property taxes on their million dollar homes and million dollar incomes?

  • A little biased aren't you Robertshaw? Why didn't you run the whole video? Chris Wallace was wrong and Huckabee corrected him.

  • You can have this one Mark. Nobody watches it anyway. Notice the poor rating? I flagged it as spam and I hope everyone else will too. Keep looking, you might find one or two places where you can spread your spam.

  • Looks like another hit on the middle and lower class. Think about it, If you tax a gallon of gas who does it affect the most? People who make $100, $200, $300.000 thousand a year? What percentage of their income goes to consumable taxable products? If a tomato costs $6 does that hurt you or them?

  • Another Liberal Neocon! Hey hucky.. raise the taxes as much as you can while you let out all the criminals too! Then overseas we can have a war everywhere! Stupid MORON from arkysauce!

  • That's a cheap shot. You clearly edited the video for political purposes. Wallace was wrong, he based his "corrections" on misconceptions and Huckabee corrected him on the original interview. Dirty shame I tell ya.

  • I flagged this message as spam and I hope you will too. Not only is it biased, he cut the best part of the video out.

  • For those that want to see the full unedited version for the truth:

    watch?v=zgc-R9iAWhg

  • that comes from Bruce Bartlett, who also said the Fairtax comes from the church of scientology. It comes from two Houston businessmen, Leo Linbeck and Rober McNair, and the book was written by Neal Boortz, agnostic, and John Linder, Protestant. His research is horribly flawed and easily debunked.

  • I made a mistake in the previous post in cutting it down to fit. Instead of "Huckabee's response, he must not have had one." I meant to say that your video portrays Gov. Huckabee as not having a response when he did. You should be ashamed.

  • Cutting Huckabee off just before he corrects Wallace makes your argument empty at best and deceptive or even worse. Gov. Huckabee corrected Wallace. It is the people who want to be rid of the IRS and oppressive non-representative taxation. The FairTax is NOT Gov. Huckabee's plan. Wallace needs to get the origin right. Huckabee's response, he must not have had one. Either add Gov. Huckabee's response of remove this deceptive video.

  • You cut Mike Huckabee off and didn't show his response. President Bush's advisory panel didn't look at the Fair Tax proposal but made up its own tax. If you read Kotlikoff et al, "What Rate Works?" you will see that the 23% rate remains viable to replace the revenues administered today by the IRS, and the rate remains virtually unchanged over a 10-year period.

  • This video post is totally irresponsible. Next time, run the full clip or don't run it at all.

  • Chris Wallace was incorrect because the Presidential Commission used the wrong tax base assumption. Mike Huckabee, it is clear, was about to respond. In the New Hampshire debate Mike Huckabee did respond with the correct answer.

  • The video self-survingly cuts off Huckabee's response.

  • Because then he couldn't use that catchy title.

  • Huckabee responded to this and he put wallace in his place and shared his responce to the critics.. of course the fair tax would work.. but some politians don't want it because they enjoy rippin us off..

We need to elect Mike Huckabee and put that stupid IRS out of business!

  • The FairTax is 23% tax inclusive. That means out of a $100 dollar good, $23 goes to the government. That could be looked at as a 30% sales tax, ie a $77 good plus a 30% tax of $23. The President's panel says 34%, which is very close. Difference is, I believe they did what the Brookings institute did and exempted a lot of products from the tax, which drives the rate up. It's not apples to apples. Go FairTax!

  • Wallace is absolutely wrong. Huckabee is correct. Bush's commitee exploring the Fair Tax is also wrong.

  • Nice edit Michael Moore

  • whhaaaaaa!!!! Its fixed news so who gives a $hit!

  • The Tax reform commission and other critics say that the tax would have to be 34% even up to 50% to raise the amount of taxes to fund the current government---duh--wake up--if that was the case then that is what we are paying now! I believe the scholors and economists research over the political based commission panel anyway!

  • If you want to read the rest of it, here is the transcript. foxnews dot com/story/0,2933,275734,00.html

  • What a great example of how to edit a clip to make something look bad. If you don't like FairTax, it's because you're a social engineer or you're a paid lobbyist. 'Nuf said.

  • In the interest of fairness, why didn't you show Huckabee's response?
