The reason the Alliance story line sucked ass was because we'd waited years for WWF vs WCW but once McMahon bought WCW it wasnt WCW anymore. People wanted WCW to be Sting, Golberg, Luger, nWo vs WWF but instead WCW was Austin, Shane, Stephanie etc, it was just WWF wrestlers calling themselves WCW. Deffinately one of the all time biggest let downs in wrestling and everything that followed after just got worse and worse.

@UltimateSenshi I dont mean to be an ass but The Alliance story line was one of the best but many of the people from wcw that people wanted to see left by the time the Invasion happened.But it was still cool because it was intense and made good rivalries. And most people who dont like the invasion forget that ecw was in it also and just call it wwf vs wcw but they were called the alliance for a reason and there were plenty of ecw guys

The irony to all the World Wildlife Fund bashing below is that the whole name change is McMahon's fault, not theirs.

He started an agreement with them stating that he would not use the "WWF" letters outside of North America (instead the whole name, World Wrestling Federation). This is why there has always been a lot of old footage where everyone states the whole name while talking.

In the end, he back out on his own agreement. Their lawsuit, in turn, was completely just and called for.
