I was born in 1977 & grew up watching this and other great shows during the 80's. Recently I heard Peter Scalari doing a radio commercial for erectile dysfunction. Seeing a star that I enjoyed watching as a kid get old makes me feel old too. Bummer

The show was set in New York, but there are palm trees all over the opening sequence, like when they're in the park.

@jimbosley The show was filmed at Paramount Studios. The Park was probably MacArthur Park or another park in Los Angeles. The lawnchair sequence is on Wilshire Blvd with the original Bullocks Wilshire dept. store in the background.

@BeingOStupid - not quite. Telma Hopkins went on to star on "Gimme a Break!" w/ the late Nell Carter as well as the hit TV show "Family Matters." Peter Scolari went on to star w/ Bob Newhart on "Newhart" and both Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari guest-starred on "Family Ties" and Tom Hanks would guest star on "Happy Days" w/ Henry Winkler. Co-incidentally Henry Winkler was supposed to be the initial director for Hanks movie "Pooch and Turner" but Hanks had him axed due to creative differences.

Thanks for posting the original theme song. I wish you have the deleted version of the DVD copy of the show, Not the entire episode, only the clip. I watched this show when I was a child.
