this "energy" you see is the magnets finding equilibrium. Same thing that makes magnets flip when got them facing the wrong way. But you need to move them in order to keep it out of equilibrium. So this is pretty much same as tossing a rock up in the air and claiming you gained energy on the way down, because you only applied enough energy to get it to max height before it started falling. which isnt really a gain, since you would have to throw it up again to repeat.

In this example, the guy moves the magnet from position to another with his hand, reversing the polarity of the magnet, causing the wheel to spin. We can all agree that the hand action is a force, is sun energy, is input. add up the input, account for lost forces to friction, and this my friends balances the output. No free energy to speak of.
Mass does not create energy without using energy! Its existance and position within a frame of reference depends entirely upon energy input to equal its kinetic potential output.
It is interesting to think about energy. Why does my car drive, for example? Its because the sun shines, and has been doing so for eons. It is this energy that powers our computers, leads to tidal forces, hurricanes, tsunamis, etc....albeit indirectly.
This should create a Push as a magnet goes around, and a Pull as a magnet comes around, giving a constant spin. If you master that, then at some point you should be able to generate enough electricity to power the transistor switch and the electromagnet.
Instead of a normal magnet, use an electromagnet. Use a transistor switch to automatically reverse the polarity (reverse the magnet) at each part of the incremental turn of the wheel to use the energy spike.

There's no energy spike here. You're just going from the north pole to the south pole of a particular magnet. This isn't going to add any additional power; you've got to add some energy to the system to move the magnet from the one pole to the other, and that energy is what causes the wheel to spin as it does.

I did my own magnetic experiments when I was a kid. None of them worked. Once I understood why, I realized 2 things.
1. physics is awesome. There's amazing symmetries and balance everywhere.

this "energy" you see is the magnets finding equilibrium. Same thing that makes magnets flip when got them facing the wrong way. But you need to move them in order to keep it out of equilibrium. So this is pretty much same as tossing a rock up in the air and claiming you gained energy on the way down, because you only applied enough energy to get it to max height before it started falling. which isnt really a gain, since you would have to throw it up again to repeat.

Well Steorn has been off the radar for some time now, so either they discovered their device is not actually over-unity, or it was over-unity but somebody shut them up. I suspect the former.
Either way, Tesla discovered how to harvest free electricity from the ionosphere with his Wardenclyffe tower. That worked. So maybe instead of trying to defy the laws of physics with the magnet approach, try the Tesla approach to collect energy that already exists.

Magnetic fields do no work. The energy that rotates the skateboard wheel ultimately comes from your hand moving the magnet. Energy is actually lost in this experiment from friction in the wheel bearings, otherwise the wheel would oscillate about the magnet.

Anyone who creates a device producing free energy does need investors, build a large scale version of it, produce electricity and sell it on the open market. Instant continuous profit - what more could you want. Claims like these have been around forever and they are strictly based on fleecing stupid investors of their cash. The real issue is to transform a force, be it magnetic, gravitational etc, to do 'work'. One example of a transformation is a hydro-electic power generator.

continued... so now if you replace that electromagnet and use a permanent magnet of sufficient strength, then that PM will hold the weight suspended from the ceiling for an indefinite time, thus indicating that the energy required to supend the weight id now coming from the Permanent magnet and it is 10watt hour x may be several years before the strength of the PM declines. hence 10watt/hour = 87.6Kilo watts over a year.
In the above senario both magnets are themselves suspended from ceiling.

In my opinion, you can not create more energy than already exists in the universe. I believe those that claim so are overlooking things. It could be as simple as the human energy to flip a switch, moving cables back and forth, people that don't understand how magnets work, etc. If any component wears out and needs replacement, then that adds energy to the process. Maybe if you hook up a microphone to the baby and puppy, you can convert sound energy to electrical energy, and as long as you keep neglecting them, you'll have a constant source of free energy.
Other than that, you won't be getting free energy from permanent magnets alone, regardless of how complex the array is.

In this example, the guy moves the magnet from position to another with his hand, reversing the polarity of the magnet, causing the wheel to spin. We can all agree that the hand action is a force, is sun energy, is input. add up the input, account for lost forces to friction, and this my friends balances the output. No free energy to speak of.

Mass does not create energy without using energy! Its existance and position within a frame of reference depends entirely upon energy input to equal its kinetic potential output.
It is interesting to think about energy. Why does my car drive, for example? Its because the sun shines, and has been doing so for eons. It is this energy that powers our computers, leads to tidal forces, hurricanes, tsunamis, etc....albeit indirectly.

This should create a Push as a magnet goes around, and a Pull as a magnet comes around, giving a constant spin. If you master that, then at some point you should be able to generate enough electricity to power the transistor switch and the electromagnet.

Instead of a normal magnet, use an electromagnet. Use a transistor switch to automatically reverse the polarity (reverse the magnet) at each part of the incremental turn of the wheel to use the energy spike.

Nope, it doesnt take any energy to produce a force, it only takes energy for the force to move an object a certain distance. The magnet can be ideally permanent, but even if they do lose their magnetism it is not dependent on the amount work the magnet does. Patsick is right, if the system is truely perpetual motion, the "extra" energy from the skateboard wheel should be able to drive the hardisk after the motion is started. clearly this isnt the case.

E = MC^2 . The M stands for mass by the way. mass is interchangeable with energy. its called the equivalence principle. therefore any mass (needed for force,according to Newton), contains an inherent equivalent energy (according to Einstein).

E=MC^2 describes the energy you would get for an amount of mass you lose, not for the amount of force you apply. your magnet does not get any lighter when you use it to attract metallic objects.
Secondly, if you have read a short section of any physics textbook discussing mechanics you would have realized that the mass in F=MA refers to the mass on which the force is applied, not the mass of source.

Energy is not required to produce a force. Read any elementary physics text. f=ma you are confused with refers to the sum of all forces on a certain object, not any individual force. force is only involved with energy when the object moves a distance after the force is applied.

take for example the earth. its constantly exerting a force on us but not producing any energy because we are not moving in the direction of the force. only when we travel to a high point and jump down does the earth do work on us, and we gain kinetic energy. however, note that in this process the actual gravitational force of the earth does not decrease in any way, the energy came from us climbing up to the high point against gravity, and not from the force itself.

There's no energy spike here. You're just going from the north pole to the south pole of a particular magnet. This isn't going to add any additional power; you've got to add some energy to the system to move the magnet from the one pole to the other, and that energy is what causes the wheel to spin as it does.
