  • ifafoundation. org,,empower your self with LOVE and BLESSINGS ☼

  • @theenchantedhorse the BEST web,,Thank You =)

  • As someone from Benin in Nigeria, I am indeed very proud to be part of this rich culture. Olukun is the goddess of the gerat seas and mother of all blessings .

  • i hope is not a sin for me watching this

  • @AM310965 is it a sin for u to watch the "white Jeezus" movies?

  • @Tampinu No Is not a sin lol becos Jesus is Jesus whether Black or White lol

  • @AM310965 What makes a "Jeezus"? Even Jesus said in the Bible "Children are judged to be good or bad from what they do", therefore, if you do good you are Godly and if you do bad you are for the devil...It don't matter if you are White or Black..Since the people in this video are not doing "Bad" by hurting or killing other innocent people..It is not a sin to watch this video is showing...But it is a sin to watch what "bad" people are showing when they are killing or hurting others. Good luck.

  • This is my culture and I am very proud of it and I am also a high priestess of Olokun.

Though I now live in London, I find time once in three years to go to Nigeria and pay homage ( Ugie Olokun) and celebrate. Olukun is a god of blessings and it means God of the the great seas and mother of all ( IYE NO OMAE NE OKUGBA OLILA)

  • This is my culture and I am very proud of it and I am also a high priestess of Olokun.

  • @Adesisime This is my life. I am yourba first and american second. I am Ibeji Kehinde and a priestess of yemaya

I've never met a priest of Olokun. Can we communicate my email is kquinones58@yahoo.com

  • Even if the sound traditional and part of our root but do not let satan use this to drag you to hell. They are the devil. what these people need is born again. they need salvation

  • @billartkool We do not believe in your hell. It doesn't exist. All homage to Oludumare, all orisa, and egungun. May you find light in the destiny you have chosen..

  • Olokun is not a Vodun. It is a orisha, yoruba.

  • @kikodinucci Olokun is shared by the peoples of Benin who are not strictly ethnically Yoruba.

  • @badilij Ok, but Olokun is not a vodun

  • It is both a Vodun and an Orisa just like Babaluaye(Soponna,Omolu), Nana Buruku and a few others. The Yoruba and Benin share many cultural similarities.

  • Hey can one tell me the reason she has her face painted white?

by the way thanks for the post. i think it is very important that culture and heritage is preserved.

  • her face is painted white, because it signifies purity and moral uprightnesss which the olokun the sea goddess stands for.

  • THANKS FOR THE ANSWER!!!

  • me hot

  • Thanks for promoting the bini heritage.

  • olokun is also a yoruba orisha.

  • Olukun is also celebrated in Cuba, till this present day.!

In fact its traditions can also be traced in Trinidad, Argentina, Brazil, Haiti, Puerto Rico and Mexico.

1 in 4 Blacks around the world are NIGERIANS.

  • Of course, we are all aware of that. Olokunmi in Cuba is refered to as "Friend" also.

Cubans, Trinny's, Brazilians all trace their roots to the Yoruba tribe!

  • this is bini people.i have some bini frinds here in new york.lol there carzy as in funny lol.i am from nimbia county/kpain.

  • na true, home o lovely bini...omo olokun wesa''. thankyou dear one for bringing this video

  • Sweet home, oh sweet home home. This is Bini ,the home of culture.

I think it is a narrative, but it is all about open dialogue between the physical and spiritual world.

  • I don't understand Edo but can an Edo speaker/writer write out the words please. So I can teach my children.

  • leERN it and teach it to them, knowing more than one language, especially their own make the kids smarter and more confident

  • To autoyea, no that is not Olokun , that is Ogun. The title itself says benin Ologun dance, not Olokun.

  • Ogun,Olokun are both benin gods. its ishango that is yoruba!

  • Olokun is an Edo deity, Ogun is a yoruba deity. Many of the benin deitys are really the same yoruba deitys under different names

  • Ogun and Shango ( you spelled it ishango) are both yoruba Gods. Ogun is the yoruba god of thunder and Shango is the god of iron.. so there.

  • Ogun is the god of iron etc...Sango is that of thunder. U mixed it up.

  • @adunbarin4

What alot of Asatru followers dont want to admit is that the Norse god Odin is Ogun.

    Their ancestors worshipped African gods.

  • @adunbarin4 The Lightning is that of OYA. Maferefun Oya. Maferefun Ellegua.

Maferefun Olodumare, Maferefun Orisha. Maferefun Egun.

Luz pa todos los espiritus..... ashe

  • beautiful performance, message received

  • I believe this is olokun dance in its mild form. A cultural dance from the accient City of Benin (Nigeria) projected in a low budget video. This is just beautiful. It also reminds me of my late aunt who used to be one of the chief priestess.

  • finest spritual expression of my Edo-speaking,in present day southwest Nigeria. inspirational spritural rhythm.

  • The best home cultural music I had ever seen on net. the rich culture and spritural bring once great Edo Kingdom is well display.

  • You are experiencing the source of all musical note, the "black note" it is taught in American Universities of Arts. This gave the birth ti Jazz, Salsa, Hip Hop...from SHANGO VOOdOU origine BENIN
