  • Hi, not sure if you remember but i emailed you some time ago about my conversion of ldv maxus panel van, its 99.9% complete!! just want to pick your brains, did you ever come across a video on youtube that showed a ldv maxus van being cut off at the back and a salvage caravan placed on the back? i can't seem to find it? thanks, dave

  • Great video but would have prefered it if you had talked us through what you have done. I am looking for insperation to build a van, I intend to live in mine permenantly.

  • Super van - love your music

  • Super van - love the music,

  • this is master craftsmanship .......

  • Very nice professional conversion there, super job! Not overboard with the music.... But hey you like it ! (personal taste and all) Wales is a great place to visit, just don't tell everyone else it'll be as packed as Cornwall ! All the best ...Terry

  • Hi there Blade

I like the video of your conversion build, But, More-so I LOVE the Music...

That first song sounds just like a Johnny Cash Number...

    Great - Well Done...

  • @MrMacksBoy

Cheers for that, I did some country style songs which did sound like the man in black.

  • @MrMacksBoy You love the music?? Are you mad? I've never heard such a droning, out of tune and completely un-musical noise in my life, immensely irritating to say the least! It takes allsorts i suppose!

  • @discocreator76

Don't you have a volume control on your device?

  • THE GUY THAT KITTED OUT YOUR CAMPER VAN DOZERBLADE, HE MADE SOME JOB OF IT LOOK GOOD

  • @1200ross Cheers Mate!

  • cool video, who did the music?

I'm just starting to convert a convoy and wandering what you used for insulation?

  • @scratabout1988 Thanks

  • Thanks I did the music several years ago. I have a new website which documents this build, look at

  • campervanconversions.me.uk

  • @scratabout1988 @scratabout1988 Thanks I did the music several years ago when I wrote and recorded quite a few songs and instrumentals. I have a new website which documents this build, it is not finished yet but the insulation part is done look at campervanconversions.me.uk

  • Nice vidio,,,,I was enspired to biuld one,,,,if you have a min take a look and let me no what ya think......cheers ,

  • Just stealing more ideas from your van. I have just got to put the shower in mine and do some finishing touches. It takes soo long!! Can't wait to finish it!!!

  • @JONESTIMETRAVEL Hi take your time and do the best you can, you will feel so proud of yourself when you have finished it. I put the shower and toillet in first and built the rest of the van around it. The thinking behind that was that the toilet and shower tray were two units that fitted together and they were a fixed size, everything else I could make to fit the space I had left.

  • Great job pal. l'm considering not to put a kitchen in mines, l'll jus cook outside.

  • Hi there. Where are you situated. I am in the middle of doing a conversion for myself. I'm only 22 so haven't the experience that you have. Brill job by the way!!!

  • what does ldv mean ?? i think it means layland daff vhiacle but thats a gess

  • @superbran2008 Yes Leyland Daff Vehicles is the correct title.

  • @dozerblade just found out some one else said it was Leyland daff vans because all they made was vans with the LDV name ? i think that's feasible 2 buddy but i don't no

  • really enjoyed the video can you let me know where you got the seats from as I am in the process of concerting a maxus myself. thanks

  • Really enjoyed the video can I ask where you got the seats from as I am in the process of converting a Maxus. thanks

  • @llizc Drivers seat is standard and the passenger seat came from ebay and was adapeted to fit, on the original frame, I also made it revolve with a swivel from b&Q

  • I have to say that this looks to have a much higher standard of fit out than most of the clips I see on here. Some of them are quite laughable. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your time with it.

  • @MrChelston

Thanks for your comments, I am just putting the final piece in place, ie a Status TV ariel which fits inside the wardrobe and pushes up through the roof and can be swiveled and tilted from inside the van. I did mean to fit one last year but never got round to it. Once this is done I will feel the van is finally completed to my satisfaction!

  • @MrChelston Some of these people who do conversions may not have the budget to do a high standard conversion, not everyone has deep pockets, but i bet they have a real good time out in the countryside weekending it.

  • excellent work, v v v impressed, prob most proffessional self build ive seen on youtube,

  • @TheSenior53 Thanks for the fine comment.

  • Your garage has a better view than my house!

  • @fishoutofwasser

Oh it did have until the farmer put a pile of black silage bales 4 high in the field right behind!

  • I think i will have a go at coversion after looking at your van,

Where would i get the gear , Toilet , Shower, Windows ect , Have you any Web or Email Contacts, i keep coming back to your Video , Great song by the way,

  • @dryan003 Hi again, I spent about a year thinking about it before doing and kept searching the web for ideas and I found the self build motor caravanners club which was brilliant for looking at what others had done and getting ideas and ther is also a good list of links for parts, I used O'learys and rainbow conversions for most parts but windows I had to source else where. Let Google do the walking! Good luck

    Here is the link

    Dave

  • try this link sbmcc.co.uk/

  • Love the Camper , how do you heat the water.

How many hours went into this Camper.

  • @dryan003

    thanks for your comments.

The water is heated by gas and or 240 with a propex unit situated in the bottom of the cupboard on the right hand side looking from the back and there is a 75 lt fresh water container under the wardrobe. I don't know how many hours but it was 3.5 months during the winter of 2009 Jan Feb March very cold working outside, although I had put the windows and roof lights in the previous Oct. the hardest part is planning the layout and then trying to fit it all

  • EXCELLENT CRAFTMANSHIP IF I WAS FORTY YEARS YOUNGER I WOULD LOVE TO MAKE ONE,LOL,WHOS THE BAND PLAYING THE SONGS,THANKS

  • Thanks for your kind comments, I had an enjoyable experience converting this vehicle, my first attempt at anything like this at age 55, but we have had other campers in the past. the music is written and recorded in my home studio by me, several years ago when that was my big hobby.
