The poor kitten was just doing what kittens do - they are like little children. Probably just needed attention or love and it got a cruel reaction from the other cat. That's sad.

@Treemeadow Not so sure - the poor little kitten was looking for some attention from this older cat. Kittens are taken from their mother and siblings way too soon and are passed off to humans. They need to stay in their family dynamic to learn and grow from each other.

Kittens are playful. You have no idea how old this kitten was. Kittens need to stay with their mothers until (ideally) 12 weeks. Most are removed at 8 weeks.
